This is my Design Team card at Double Trouble Challenge #171 "What's Your Drive-Thru Window". Thing 1 Double Trouble's requirement is to create a project with a window or aperture of any style, shape or size. I chose a snowflake aperture die using the Aperture Cards tutorial. This die also satisfied Twisted Sister's optional twist which includes snow, snowflakes, Frosty and/or other snowpeople and allows me to enter in our partner's challenge Jingle Bells "Dashing through the Snow".
Going through my stash I found this adorable Frosty stamp and this was my inspiration; however Frosty took up a large space to use a window die cut and that was my decision to use an aperature die instead of a window.
My aperture snowflake die was cut on the upper L-H corner and bottom R-H corner, using a lagoon patterned paper behind it and adhered with thin 3D foam tape to show the snowflake cuts. Frosty was stamped with Memento London Fog on white cardstock, colored with Copic Sketch pens and then adhered with foam tape and glue for dimension. Sentiment stamped direct on card using London Fog. Three of the negative snowflakes were colored and glued directly to the upper R-H corner to balance Frosty on card.
Used the balance of the negative snowflakes, colored and glued on the R-H border inside the cardbase.
Here are easy tutorials, so much flexibility in using dies, to satisfy both challenges.
