A Very Merry Christmas - Try a Sketch on Tuesday Challenge #660

Here is my Design Team card for Try a Sketch on Tuesday Challenge #660.  When this sketch came up I already knew my favorite snowflake die would be used. First, a cross-stitched border die was placed diagonally from top corner to the opposite bottom corner and cut to use as the division of the four panels. Then the snowflake die was cut on the same white cardstock in the center, bordered with Capri blue cardstock and then adhered to card base.

A friend of mine gave me this penguin stamp and it got buried in my stash. I was working on my inventory and came across this stamp and put it aside for one of my next Christmas cards... it was a nice fit for this sketch and hid the center messy cut from the die cuts. Hecter's presents and hat were colored using Copic sketch brushes using a match of the blues, fussy-cut and adhered with 3D thin foam tape over the snowflake.

I was not happy with a plain white background... so decided to randomly stamp snowflakes using the second generation stamping technique. This made me happy and it reflected the faded pattern as in the sketch.

A small sentiment was stamped with Black Memento Ink and some Bitty Sparkles placed around the snowflake.

DTC Challenge #181 - 2024 "Wrap It Up" - partnering with Jingle Belle and Previous Partners

Here is my DT Card for Double Trouble "It's Up to You", a free-for-all with your choice of last minute Christmas and/or any occasion cards, and wrap up 2024... my choice was a Christmas card sharing it with Jingle Belles "Banner Holiday".

Twisted Sister's optional twist is to include something to "Tie It Up" using ribbon, twine, bow, and/or even washi tape. The Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #606 was a perfect sketch to use washi tape... but when looking through my stash there was no washi tape. I did have a collection of ribbons in a variety of patterns and colors with adhesive backing and decided to use them.

Even though the ribbons were not representative of Christmas there was a nice variety of colors with traditional and non-traditional colors which looked so pretty together. Cut pieces in different lengths, adhered to a die cut frame from a Mint patterned paper and then bordered with a Capri blue.

Cut another smaller frame in the same Mint patterned paper, bordered with Capri blue, die cut a Sentiment in White and Capri cardstock, glued together, placed in the smaller panel off center and then adhered to ribbon background with 3D thin foam tape.

Stamped a small present, colored with Copic brush pens, added polka-dots to the ribbon with white jel pen and adhered with 3D thin foam tape to corner of sentiment panel. Finished the inside border of card base with a couple more cuts of the ribbon.

Please hop on over and join us at Double Trouble, have fun with our challenge  requirement and play along with optional twists to be eligible to enter your project in our partner's challenge while earning additional chances to our random draw. DTC #152 - Particpating with Coffee Lover's Fall/Winter Blog Hop - Day 4

Join us at Double Trouble Challenge #152 and hop on by and enjoy the CRAFTEINATING inspiration by our Design Team and entrants. This card was inspired by the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #550.

DTC is participating with 2023 Coffee Lover's Fall/Winter Blog Hop and here is my Coffee themed card for Day 4.

For the background chose the Snowflake patterned paper from the 6 x 6 paperpack I won from BYSHC.  Using the polka dot patterned paper cut three 1/2" stitched strips and adhered to the snowflake background. In place of the star used a snowflake die cut through the background to suffice for the foliage.

Penguin and To-Go-Cup was stamped in black, colored where needed, slit the penguin's fllipper to place the cup, glued Penguin's flipper around cup and adhered with 3D thin foam tape near bottom of snowflake (the penguin is my star). Added a layer of Lagoon cardstock behind the background and adhered to card base.  Sentiment was stamped in black on white cardstock, layered with Lagoon cardstock and adhered next to the penguin.

Used another snowflake border die border using a Lagoon patterned paper and added to the bottom on the inside of the card.

Hope to see you at Double Trouble "DeJa-BREW" and win another chance at our random draw if you have entered your coffee themed project at the Coffee Lover's Blog Hop... and add a funny pun on your project for another chance.

All our Team Members at Double Trouble have BLOG CANDY!  We hope you'll visit each member's individual blog, view the prize, and leave a comment - BUT - this will not qualify you for the prizes. After viewing each individual blog, go back to the Double Trouble Blog and leave a comment. From those comments, we will randomly select the names of Blog Candy recipients. Please join in the fun. Be sure to comment on Double Trouble Challenge post HERE for your chance to win a giveaway from one of our team members.

And don't forget the perk at Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge #23 if you have created a Christmas coffee theme card and have included a holly.

Happy Birthday - Color Dare 488 - Fancy 5

Here is what I thought was my DT card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #488 "Fancy 5" color palette. But until it was posted this morning I didn't realize that I used the wrong color palette which did not include the colors chosen for the corrected palette.

My choices from the wrong palette, as you can see, were Sangria, Mulberry and Shortbread which none were close to the correct color palette.  I wondered why my card did not look as bright as the other projects from our Design Team; but didn't question at the time.  Anyway, here is my own color selection for this card.

I was catching up on some of my inventory of dies and I came across some half card panels which could be used very easily for a gatefold card. My decision was to use all cardstock instead of patterned papers. Cut two sets of the floral using mulberry and the frame using sangria and adhered them to each side of my gatefold card base cut from shortbread.

Keeping with using cardstock and dies decided to use a couple Sizzix fancy frames in sangria and shortbread and adhered with 3D thin foam tape to the left-hand side panel with the overlap to the right side of the gatefold. Cut three dragonfly's, two in sangria and one in mulberry, layered and adhered to the fancy frame.

Didn't have enough room for a sentiment so I cut a smaller fancy frame in shortbread and then fussy-cut a layer in sangria, stamped on a sentiment and adhered to the dragonfly focal point.

Color Dare challenges are carried forward for two weeks so if you didn't share a project for this Inspiration Photo challenge you still have another week to enter.

Both challenges are on the side bar of the Color My Heart Color Dare challenge blog. Please check out Design Team Cards and other entrants to give you inspiration and join us for future fun color challenges.  Hope to see you there.
