Happiness Blooms From Within - Double Trouble Challenge #104 with Creative Creases "Fun Folds"

Here is my DT Card for Double Trouble Challenge #104 "Hoodie-Hoo! Hoodie-Hoo!" a Spring theme" with a sneak peek using the design papers from CTMH "In Full Bloom". Twisted Sister's optional twist is to create a fun fold partnering with Creative Creases #26 "Anything Goes Fun Fold". In my stash I have precut fun fold card bases and thought the Reverse Explosion Card was the perfect fold to complement this floral paper.

Figuring out how to fold the Reverse Explosion Card was a little confusing but once you got that figured out the cuts were easy. The finished fold is a 5" x 5" square. The Avocado layer for the florals were cut 1/8 inch less than the card base and the floral design paper was cut 1/8" less than the Avocado layer. The layering added bulk and needed something for closure that would not hide the beautiful floral focal point.

Mel, my friend and neighbor, saved me again. Since I had layered the flower pedals for dimension a belly band was out of the question. I needed some thin ribbon to attach around each side of the flower.  Looked through my small stash of ribbons... nothing.  So off to my neighbor's large stash of ribbons.  She provided me with several ribbons and the one selected was perfect.

Here are additional photos showing closer view of the pretty floral and dimension in the flower pedals and butterfly using 3D thin foam tape.  The sentiment was stamped and layered with the striped patterned paper and adhered across the top of the focal point.  The other two photos show the card open for display.  The back of the fold card base is blank and can be used for personal sentiments to recipient.

Treasure Our Friendship - Color Dare #484 TicTac Toe

Here is my DT Card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare "TicTacToe" using CTMH "Sawyer" paperpack and Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch Challenge #542. Pretty much followed the sketch but just couldn't seem to fit in the tag because it covered too much of the pretty doily cut from another patterned paper... instead placed a pretty sticker butterfly and curled the wings.

A pretty paper with a splattering of all the colors in the color palette was used for the background.  Two of the zip strips were used for the banners and the sentiment was one of the sticker sentiments.  All the cuts were layered with Harbour cardstock for lots of contrast against the background.  No stamping, no coloring for this one... was fun using just the paperpack and cardstock.

For this challenge you don't need to use all the colors, just pick a row, column or diagonal for a three color scheme... have fun.

Happy Bird-Day - One Cool Chick - Double Trouble #103 partnering with Inspiration Station

This is my design Team card for Double Trouble Challenge #103 "Sweet Color Challenge". It wasn't difficult to choose at least 3 colors from Thing 1's clipart of my favorite spice gumdrops  and our partner for this challenge Inspiration Station's board of "Candy Hearts".  I chose five out of the six (yellow, pink, lavender, orange and white) Twisted Sister's optional twist wanted us to "include at least one heart".

As my primary color I chose to use Ballerina cardstock to die cut a heart background and then layered with the same color, raised one of the hearts with 3D thin foam tape for dimension, added a yellow panel to the back of the background and adhered to the card base.

Stamped and die cut the chicks, colored with Copic alcohol based brush pens and adhered with 3D thin foam tape to background.   Sentiments were stamped, brushed edge with Bashful ink, layered with Ballerina cardstock and adhere directly to background

Hug Me, Stuck on You - Color Dare Challenge #482

This is my Design Team card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #482 using at least 3 colors from the Inspiration Board. I was pressed for time, so decided to make something fairly simple Valentine Day card.

Rather than look through stamp and design papers, I thought it would be easier just to use a stencil of hearts and and create a background with three of the colors. For my image and sentiment I chose to go through some of my sticker sheets and pick out an image that matched my background. Used another color cardstock to adhere my stenciled background and the adhered to my card base.  Done within less than an hour, which is probably a record of mine... but thought it turned out pretty good.

Color Dare challenges are carried forward for two weeks so if you didn't share a project for this Inspiration Photo challenge you still have another week to enter.

Both challenges are on the side bar of the Color My Heart Color Dare challenge blog. Please check out Design Team Cards and other entrants to give you inspiration and join us for future fun color challenges.
