Color Dare #602 - 12th Anniversary Celebration

This is my Design Team project for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #602 "Triple Play" for our 12th Anniversary Celebration. In homage we are doing an updated take on those original colors. While I was looking for a sketch to combine with our color challenge, the CTMH "Just Chicken In" was sitting in my space beckening me to use. When I selected the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #578 there was a floral on the same stamp set which was perfect for this sketch. Even though I wanted to use chicks; just couldn't see chicks in these color... so the chicks will sit there for another challenge and I'll use the floral.

The floral was stamped using Memento black ink on Wisteria (one on dark side and the other on the light side) and another one stamped in Royal. The Royal floral was fussy-cut for the base of the floral. The light Wisteria was fussy-cut for the inner part of the daffodil and the dark Wisteria was fussy-cut for the outer part of the daffodil. The Wisteria pieces were added to Royal floral base with glue and some parts with thin 3-D foam tape for dimension.

Periwinkle is one of my favorite colors. We had a Periwinkle car way back in the 90's because I wanted a purple car. My husband was hesitant; but we purchased it. There were times I would wander around a parking lot looking for my Periwinkle car but in daytime light it was more blue than purple and there weren't remotes at that time to lead you to your car. So... there were difficult times when looking for my car; but it wasn't difficult to choose the background papers in Periwinkle, border them with the Royal and place them as in the sketch on the card base.

The focal point and sentiment frames were cut, one with patterned paper and the other in Royal cardstock, modified using a stitched rectangle frame.

On the inside of the card base the right-hand border was a strip of Royal cardstock, zip strip and another strip of the same background patterned paper.  Please hop on over and join us at Color Dare's Color Board #602 for our 12th Annniversary, check out the Design Teams inspiration and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.

Double Trouble #115 "Christmas in July" partnering with Color Dare #503

This is my Design Team card for Double Trouble Challenge #115 "Christmas in July" and teaming up with ColorMyHeart Color Dare #503 "Crazy 8" Color Board below.

ColorMyHeart Color Dare "Crazy 8" Board rules: Simply pick any four of the eight blocks. Color names are CTMH and are only for reference; but you are welcome to use any products as long as the colors are the closest match. If you want to use additional blocks, it's your choice as long as you use only blocks included in the Square. Free to use are Black, White, Gold, and Silver, which can be used in addition to your four chosen blocks.

My 4 Blocks were Candy Apple, New England Ivy, Avocado and Flower(s) theme to make my Christmas card.

Blended New England Ivy and Pear (substituted for Avocado) inks on Daisy White cardstock for my background. Stamped with Daisy White Ink one of the larger poinsettias stamps and then heat embossed with red. Layered the other larger poinsettia stamp on top and with same procedure of heat embossing.

The two smaller poinsettias were stamped using the same embossing procedure.  The fern stamps were added randomly among the poinsettias and heat embossed with gold.  The poinsettias didn't seem to stand out so I took a gold uni-ball pen and outlined and filled in the detail of each poinsettia. Took the same gold pen and just added dots to the background.

Sentiment was stamped with New England ink on white cardstock, blended in the two greens to match the background and adhered with 3D thin foam tape.

Friendship Makes Life Colorful - Color Dare #498 "Shades of Green, Blue, Purple"

This is my Design Team card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #498. The Color Dare's color palette reminded me of a paintbrush image we colored at Jennifer Dove's December 2021 Copic Boot Camp Class and all I had to do was to use shades of the three colors... how fun is that.

The rainbow stream of colors was a personal add-on with shades of green, blue and purple using Copic alcohol brush pens... this rainbow stream was not a part of the paintbrush stamp. Masked the paintbrush rainbow image, stamped on various ink blot flairs using inks of the same colors, added a sapphire border and adhered to my card base.

The sentiment was from a very old retired stampset.  Stamped on white cardstock using the same ink colors, overlapping each color, added a sapphire border and adhered with 3D thin foam tape at the base of the rainbow stream of colors.

On the inside of card, stamped various ink blot flairs at the the bottom and right-hand side.

Happy Easter - Double Trouble Challenge #107 "Build a Scene"

Here is my DT card for Double Trouble Challenge #107 "KISS - Create a Scene" using Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #467.  If you include Twisted Sister's optional twist you can also enter your card in Cupcake Inspirations #541 "Bunnies".  The bunny stamp already had a good portion of a scene and all it needed was to enhance the green grass and add a blue sky with whisp of clouds.  The scene panel was cut partially so that the bunny was over the edge instead of adding flowers as in the sketch.

The background is one of my favorite plaids and I always like the combination of polka-dots.  Sentiment was added at the same angle as the scene.

Christmas is Love with All the Trimmings - Color Dare #423 2020 Linky Holiday Party "Traditional Colors"

This is my Design Team card for our 2020 Holiday Linky Party Color Dare #423 "Traditional Colors".

My Christmas cards this year were all gnomes.  Since my gnomes are all cut and colored... all I needed to do was put a background together and add a sentiment.  In my stash I had a negative circle cut in the floral design paper and decided to use that as a window card. Selected and added the gnome with 3D thin foam tape with the Christmas lights hung out the window.  Sentiment was stamped on French Vanilla cardstock with black ink, layered with black and adhered in bottom corner with thin foam tape.

My Christmas cards this year are gnomes.  To see my collection click HERE

Thankful - Color Dare #414 Inspiration Board

Here is my Design Team card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #414 "Inspiration Board" using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #388. This sketch was perfect for a Fall card and I was going to experiment again with alcohol base backgrounds. Wasn't real happy with my background so decided to die cut some pretty fall leaves and backed them with French Vanilla cardstock. These were stitched leaves but didn't show up very well so added black ink to the stitches. My background then changed to be French Vanilla cardstock using the embossing folder "broken glass" and layered with Sangria cardstock.

French Vanilla and Sangria cardstock were cut using a wacky stitched square and offset Sangria layer to the back, added the leaves with 3D thin foam tape to the white wacky squares for additional dimension.

Sentiments were cut and layered so that there was just a small outline in Sangria so it would blend and soften into the background.  Embellishments were added on top right-hand corner on the front and additional leaves place in the bottom left-hand corner on the inside.

Please pop over to ColorMyHeart Color Dare and Atlantic Hearts to see DT members' inspiration, along with other participants that have entered these challenges.

Color My Heart Color Dare challenges are carried forward for two weeks so if you didn't share your project the first week you still have another week to enter that challenge...current challenges are on the side bar of the challenge blog.

With Sympathy - Double Trouble Challenge #61 - TicTacToe shared with Cupcake Inspirations

This is my DT card for Double Trouble Challenge #61 "Puzzling TicTacToe" and partnering with Cupcake Inspirations, using the sketch from Just Add Ink Challenge #512.  Cut the three panels and put a Wisteria border on them.  The floral was a fussy cut from one of the Every Little Thing design papers, partially colored with Copic pens and adhered with 3D thin foam tape. Added the smaller middle of the flower and layered with foam tape for another dimension.

The vellum butterfly was colored with the same colors as flower, small black beads for the butterfly's body and adhered with 3D thin foam tape.  Sentiment was added directly on card.

This card was made for one of our members and close friend of Our Little Crop Group, whose son was in a fatal motorcycle crash.  Our prayers go out to her and family.

Please join us at Double Trouble "TicTacToe" and if you want to use Twisted Sister's twist "sequins/pearls" you can earn an extra chance at our random draw. And if you submit the same card to Cupcake Inspirations, using flowers and pearls, you have earned another chance at the random draw.

Please follow us on Double Trouble Challenge and receive notices of our new challenge on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month, and if there is a 5th Monday we run a special one week challenge like this one for our "Something, Everything, Anything", which will be coming up the end of this challenge.

2020 Calendar - The Cutting Cafe

Creative Creases has Memorial Weekend Extravaganza for "Anything Goes with a Fun Fold" and has waived the backlinking for this challenge.  Sure saves a lot of time in creating over this Weekend and still be able to show one of your favorite past creations.

05/28/21 Resubmitted to:

This is my project for The Cutting Café "2020 Calendar".  I didn't want to hide the beautiful floral background so I used some butterfly dies that were quite open.  However, because I'm addicted to layers, I got a little crazy and decided there should be a couple flowers in the corner and added a gem in the center.  And then...why not another butterfly on the window of the calendar since it didn't hide the vision.  The box was made with another coordinate design paper to hold a pen/pencil.

Added a window to the front of the calendar holder, flipped to the side, adhered holder closer to left-side to allow room for a floral tab for each of the months using the smallest of the same floral. The calendars were printed on Vellum and adhered to the frame of each month. Using the same sizing as the calendar I created a backside to record events for the month and adhered to the back of the month calendar. Added a little bling to the window frame.

On the back side of the Holder...another design paper was used to adhere the 2020 Holiday Schedule and another butterfly to match the one in the front left-hand corner.
