Hello Weekend - Double Trouble Challenge #60 "Something, Anything, Everything"

Here is my Design Team Card for Double Trouble Challenge #60 "Something, Anything, Everything" using Twisted Sister's option twist to use Red, White and Blue.  Double Dare asked us to pair up with one of our previous partners and I have decided to go with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #375.

Used several design papers from Doodlebug Design  "Patriotic Parade" for my different cuts and layered each piece with sapphire cardstock.  At our zoom for our Little Crop Group yesterday, Mel, my friend, had a card with several pinwheels and thought that would be a good substitute for the star.  It brought back memories when we would make them for our front lawn and wait for the wind to blow so that we could see them spin.  Mel gave me a verbal tutorial on zoom how to make one, and these were sure a lot smaller than the ones we used to put in our front yard...lol.  Made several before I got the right size and color for the background.

Please join us at Double Trouble "Anything Goes" and if you want to use Twisted Sister's twist "red, white and blue" you can earn an extra chance at our random draw.  And if you submit the same card to one of our previous partner's, or multiple partners, you get another chance at random draw for each partner.

Please follow us on Double Trouble Challenge and receive notices of our new challenge on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month, and if there is a 5th Monday we run a special one week challenge like this one for our "Something, Everything, Anything", which will be coming up the end of this challenge.

You're the Best - ColorMyHeart Color Dare #400 Celebration

Here is my Design Team card for our ColorMyHeart Color Dare Celebration Challenge #400. Join us for this challenge and you will be eligible for our random draw prizes.

My card was combined with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #374 and what a great sketch for displaying several of the design papers from CTMH Every Little Thing which included the colors "green, purple and blue", an easy choice to bring these colors together.

Cut a sapphire panel for the backing of the three design papers leaving a peek of the sapphire cardstock between each one.  The fourth design paper were small flowers were fussy-cut and placed near the center with 3D foam tape for dimension.  Found a small banner die in my stash, cut, stamped an all occasion sentiment and added a Sapphire edge to the sentiment.

Please pop over to ColorMyHeart Color Dare and see DT members' inspiration, along with other participants that have entered this challenge.

We have reached another milestone since our first Color Dare Challenge in May of 2012. Trivia: Unbeknownst when we set up our Celebration Challenge 400, our very first challenge was Purple, and our Celebration Challenge has purple as one of the colors.

It would be interesting to know when you entered your first Color Dare Challenge. A prize will be awarded to the entrant with the oldest challenge date... so don't keep us guessing, identify the challenge number or date in your post.  There will be other random draw prizes awarded to all entries to this challenge.

My first entry:  Color Dare Challenge #130 February of 2015. I was awarded the Diamond Badge, which I was real proud of even though there were only three entries for that challenge.  This inspired me to do the weekly Color Dare challenges until I was asked to be a Design Team member in January 2016 Color Dare Challenge #175.

Color My Heart Color Dare challenges are carried forward for two weeks so if you didn't share your project the first week you still have another week to enter that challenge...current challenges are on the side bar of the blog.

Happy Bird Day - Double Trouble Challenge #59 3-2-1 Recipe

Here is my DT card for Double Trouble Challenge #59 "3-2-1 Recipe". Double Trouble usually has a pretty simple recipe (This recipe had 3-Colors, 2 Embellishments and 1 seasoned stamp over a year old).  And you can enhance or make a bigger recipe by using additional ingredients. You can stop here and submit your entry or you can use Twisted Sister's Optional Twist and get additional chances at Double Trouble's random draw. I wanted to take that challenge.

But then when I wanted to challenge myself to Twisted Sister's optional twist using a sketch from Retro Rubber Challenge #137 and using a triangle or quadrilateral shapes...wow and pow. I had the perfect background die that had triangles and every quad shape there is. Now, the hard part is to fit the busy background in the sketch.

Soooo, off to my daughters blog to see how she would treat a busy background.  She frequently makes busy look simple.  So this is my attempt at a Lisa card and I think I captured a little of her style... what do you think?  Don't answer that.

For my birdhouse I used a woodgrain design paper along with another design paper for the roof.  The cut of the roof looked like a triangle and the walls of the home were my quads. Not that I really had to worry about Twisted Sister's optional twist to include at least one triangle or quad because the background die had them all.

The woodgrain design paper looked like a Birch tree.  Since the sketch called for a panel down the side, I cut another background die with the same woodgrain and pieced them to look like it was a Birch tree trunk outside my glass window and used sequins for the leaves falling off the tree.  And of course the sentiment was stamped on the woodgrain design paper, curved the sides and adhered with 3D thin foam tape to appear as a birdhouse post.
I knew I was going to use the sentiment "Happy Bird-Day" so went through all my stamps to find the right bird.

To join us at Double Trouble just follow one of our favorite 3-2-1 Recipe and take on the challenge of Twisted Sister's Optional Twist using our partner's sketch and enter your project at Retro Rubber.

Thank You - Color Dare #398 TicTacToe

Here is my Design Team card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #398 "TicTacToe" using the Stitched Together CTMH paperpack.  I just love this design paper and kept the layout very simple to display the beautiful floral. Cut a slanted angle at the bottom right-hand corner of the background, added another layer and adhered with 3D thin foam tape for a little dimension on another panel of blue to add a sentiment.

Decided to do the inside of the card using the balance of my floral design paper and cut a 3/4" border along the side and then fussy-cut a flower and butterfly and added to the bottom corner.

Please pop over to ColorMyHeart Color Dare and see DT members' inspiration, along with other participants that have entered this challenge. Please join us in this fun color challenge.

It's Your Day - Double Trouble Challenge #59 "Masculine"

Here is my Design Team project for Double Trouble Challenge #59 "Masculine card" and adding Twisted Sister's optional "something round" and sharing with our partner for this challenge at Use Your Stuff "Masculine or Father's Day".

The green plaid design paper reminds me of a pair of golf shorts my husband wears quite frequently when golfing.  So, it was perfect for a Father's Day, Birthday Card or any occasion masculine card.  My husband is quite a golfing enthusiast so this card is made for him; but still pretty enough to use for a female as well.

For Twisted Sister's "something round" the Cricut golf ball was used for the letter "O" in GOLF with the other letters raised for the eclipse technique, and the tee was used for the sentiment "It's Your Day".

To join us at Double Trouble all you need to create a masculine project.

Then it's up to you whether you want to include Thing 3 Twisted Sister's optional twist "Something Round", and enter your masculine card at Use Your Stuff

Please follow us on Double Trouble Challenge and receive notices of our new challenge on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month, and if there is a 5th Monday we run a special one week challenge like this one for our "Something, Everything, Anything".
