You Can't Have a Rainbow Without a Little Rain

Printed the boot image at the beginning of the month with the intent to make a card for the Three Amigos BlogHop Challenge #13 "April Showers Bring May Flowers"...well the challenge ends today ... but even though I had not completed this image many of my spring cards were shared with the Three Amigos all month.

Colored the image with variety of copic pens and looked for a background paper that had similar colors...choosing the rainbow striped design sheet was perfect.  Wanting to do an eclipse card with an image instead of lettering so used a die of a girl holding an umbrella and raised it up with 3D thin foam tape; but changed my mind and die cut another umbrella in plain yellow so I could stamp a sentiment on the umbrella and added some raindrops.

The initial square image of the boots would have covered a lot of the die cut so I cut the one side of the square making it a rectangle, adding a border on the right side, and adhered to the left of the die cut.

Thank You - H2H May Week #1

Heart2Heart's theme "Get Creative with Vellum" took me to Cruising through many You Tube tutorials for different ways of using vellum.  Using a combination of many these tutorials this was my decision on how to use vellum on my project.  Stamped with Versa Mark three sets of floral images on vellum, heat embossed in White Crystal, used CTMH inks and brushed on colors, fussy-cut each flower and attached using thin foam tape in between each flower. Also had done the foliage and leaves but wanted more contrast with the flowers so went with cardstock instead.

Dry embossed the white background and die cut an oval in black because the contrast of the flowers against the black was striking.  Framed the white background panel with black and glued to white card base.  Arranged my flowers and foliage on card and using foam tape adhered to card. Die cut and glued the sentiment and randomly added some tiny sparkles on the black oval panel.

Hop on by Heart2Heart for this week's theme using vellum and showcase your favorite project.  This is the first week's challenge in May so you have until the end of the month to create and submit your project.  And to earn a Perfect Attendance Badge you have until the end of May to create a card for each weekly theme during that month.

On the inside of the card, stamped on the bottom corner the same flowers using the same colors as used on the vellum.

Color Dare #290 - Gimme Some Sugar

My DT card for Color Dare #290 was made using Atlantic Hearts Sketch #261.  One of my favorite CTMH colors is Tangerine which hasn't been in many of our color challenges so it wasn't hard to choose the top row of the TicTacToe grid  "Linen, Tangerine and Bashful" and adding some of the other colors from the Grid.  Used the main floral design paper and fussy-cut some of the flowers and leaves and attached with 3D thin foam tape to give the floral more dimension.  Tangerine and Blossom layers behind both the Floral Panel and the watercolor tangerine background.  Die-cut the picket fence, adhered to the watercolor background, adhered the floral panel on top of the picket fence and added a dancing butterfly adding liquid glass to the body and glitter to the wings. Left off any sentiment because this card could be used for so many different occasions and the sentiment would be written on the inside.

Decorated the inside border with a tangerine and blossom panel, added a fussy-cut that was left over and cut another leave from the design paper.

Hello - H2H April Week #4 Color Challenge

This white panel was made with a couple cuts of a corner die and attached to another panel cut from peacock cardstock.  To pull in the bashful and blossom I colored two of the white flowers bashful and another two blossom and left the two white.  These flowers were attached with 3D thin foam tape on diagonal corners.

Used a large die for the sentiment in the middle, stamped a butterfly with peacock ink and to soften the color used dry brush to add bashful ink, fussy-cut and adhered with 3D thin foam tape.  Of course my husband often critiques my cards and said it needed something more...so went back to my embellishments...found some stickers in the shape of the cones in bashful color...perfect... and scattered them on the white panel.

Hop on by Heart2Heart for this week's Color Challenge and showcase your favorite project.  You have until the end of the month to create and submit your project and other upcoming April themes to earn a Perfect Attendance Badge if you create a card for each weekly theme during that month.

You're Purrfect - The Outlawz April "Progressive Freebie"

This card was made for The Outlawz April Progressive Freebie using the digital image from Sheepski Designs, Anne's Digital Arts.  Printed 2 images of Virgo, using Copic alcohol-based pens colored the first one in full and fussy-cut.  The second image...the floral lei and butterfly were colored, fussy-cut and adhered with 3D thin foam tape to the first image for dimension. Die cut the floral bouquet in two different design papers and another one using white cardstock to piece the green stems and yellow flowers on the white cardstock layer and adhered directly to the blue background design paper.  Added Virgo to the front of the flowers with thin foam sheet, die cut the grass and pieced around Virgo.  Sentiment added on grass using Pewter ink.

After adding Virgo it appeared the white was too noticeable around his whiskers because of my fussy-cut so I took some Sea Glass ink and watercolored inbetween the whiskers and then took the copic YG23 and put a line where the stem was...then I was happy with it.  Virgo is liking his spring time setting.

For the inside of the card, die cut another floral and placed in the bottom corner, and both the inside and the small photos show the dimension of the fussy-cuts.

Happy Spring - Pigments of Imagination

This card was made for Little Acres Creations Birthday Celebration using Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge #449. Piglets are enjoying wallowing in hot chocolate...surely better than dirt. Stamped the splash of chocolate on white cardstock, colored, stamped sentiment, layered scene on cardstock and adhered to my floral background card base. Stamped the cute Piglets on white cardstock, colored, fussy-cut and adhered with 3D thin foam tape laying across the chocolate. Instead of a flower...die cut a teapot to place on the corner with 3D thin foam tape, drew in the stream of hot chocolate and applied liquid glass.

The theme is Nature and/or Coffee and is meant to inspire, not required, so let your imagination run "wild"! You are not required to use Little Acres Creations stamps, but if you have them...we'd love to see them! You can link up to other challenges, but your project should be created specifically for this challenge. You have until April 20th at 11:55 pm Pacific Time to link up. Also used liquid glass on the piglets eyes, snout, tail and hoofs. Colored over the lid on the teapot with gold and used CTMH glitter pen on both the piglets and teapot. On the inside of the card used another one of the Piglet stamps and bordered with the same plaid design paper used on the front.

Lova Ya - H2H - April Week #3 Framed

My DT Card for Heart2Heart "Framed" was made using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #260 which had several frames...so out came some of my frame dies and they were cut with a plaid design paper and then adhered with 3D foam tape to a pretty floral background.  The flower was my image cut from bashful pink and adhered to corner of the smaller frame.  My sentiment was another diet cut placed at the bottom of the one frame.

Hop on by Heart2Heart for this week's Theme and showcase your favorite project.  It might be a manic Monday but that also means that here at Heart2Heart we've got another great challenge for you.  "You've been framed!"  That's right!  So the only way to clear your name is to join us this week.  You have until the end of the month to create and submit your project and other upcoming April themes to earn a Perfect Attendance Badge if you create a card for each weekly theme during that month.

The inside of the card used one of the same frames for the sentiment and used the negative of a couple of the daisy cuts for the bottom corner.

Are You Kitten Me? - Color Dare #288

Did many cut panels in both the lagoon and peacock blues and shuffled them around until I was happy with the distribution of the colors.  Went to my stamp collection and found this adorable cat and that's where my mink came in.  This cat stamp reminds me so much of my son's cat "Thurman" and we are babysitting him for the next couple weeks.  Showing my husband the half put together card, Thurman jumped up on the bed and wanted to see it too...almost like he knew I was making this card of him.  Well, it was late and because I wasn't quite happy with my project...it needed something more...and off to bed.

Waking up the next morning, the circle panel was changed to a ball of yarn using different design paper so that changed my final shuffle of color distribution from last night and had to cut one more panel with a different design paper to coordinate with this change. Now to pull in some silver and a sentiment.  Apparently the mouse made his home in the ball of yarn, came out, and sat on Thurman's head to let him know not to play with the ball...Thurman says "Are You Kitten Me?"

Please stop by and view the DT's inspiration for these challenges ... and would love to see what projects you will create.  The Color Dare Challenge will be open for (2) weeks...AND you still have time to enter in our Color Dare #287 Click Here.

On the inside of the card added a border on the bottom with design paper.
