A Cup of Coffee & A Good Book - Color Dare Challenge #468

Here is my DT card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #468 "Inspiration Photo" using a coffee theme for "Caffeine Fueled Paper Play" at  Coffee Lover's Cardmaking.

I primarily focused myself on the apron and hat in the Inspiration Photo and thought a quilted background in those colors would make a pretty background for my card.  And what better then to wrap yourself around this quilt with a cup of coffee and a good book in hand.

I started off with a Darice Embossing Folder and then started coloring the stitches with Copic alcohol-based brush pen B99 closest to CTMH Sapphire ink.  The other colors were a combination of the different shades in orange, yellow, red and blue from apron.

In my stash there were dies for a stack of books and a coffee go-cup which I  colored using the same Copic colors in the background.  Using Sapphire Ink a sentiment was added, sponged edges and layered with cardstock.

Color Dare challenges are carried forward for two weeks so if you didn't share a project for this Inspiration Photo challenge you still have another week to enter.

Both challenges are on the side bar of the Color My Heart Color Dare challenge blog. Please check out Design Team Cards and other entrants to give you inspiration and join us for future fun color challenges.

Have a Monstrous Halloween! - Double Trouble Challenge #95 "Halloween Cuteness"

Here is my Design Team card for Double Trouble Challenge #95 "Halloween Cuteness" partnering with Cupcake Inspirations "Halloween Fun".  My inspiration... the little monsters with googly eyes and colors intriqued me to use my CTMH stamp and die set "Montrous Halloween".  During our Little Crop Group on Zoom yesterday, my friend and neighbor offered me her Whimsy rubber stamp "Moon Background".  So was well on my way to creating until I checked to see what Twisted Sister had up her sleeve.  Twisted Sister's optional Tricky Twist asked us to use Washi Tape and it proved to be a tricky twist just like she said... I chose a spider web washi tape that reminded me of a galazy sky... clever huh?  Now to put it all together.

Stamped and cut the little monsters in several colors used in Cupcake Inspirations Photo #530.  Stamped in black the moon background on white cardstock and fussy-cut.  Then across the top of black cardstock I ran three strips of the spider web washi tape, and adhered with 3D Thin Foam Tape the moon background on the bottom.

Now the fun of playing around with the placement of the monsters. Four were placed on the right-hand side and a post and stamped sentiment in Gypsy ink, distressed, and all adhered with 3D thin foam tape in a crater on the left.  I needed some color on the moon and decided to use the purple in the craters only.  There was something still missing so I added the blue ghost coming over the moon, and another 3-googly eyes that was coming out of one of the craters.

Had some monsters left over and placed them in the bottom right-hand corner of the inside of the card joining the monstrous party.

Merry Christmas - Color Dare #466

This is my Design Team card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare Challenge #466. The Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #442 reminded me of a die with poinsettias that was in my stash and would be perfect as the focal point from the sketch in creating a Christmas card.  Of course the colors in the grid were not traditional Christmas colors, but it would work with Sangria and Rosemary for the floral and leaves and a soft pink for the background.  How pretty is that?

Several cuts were made of the poinsettia die using the Sangria, Ballerina and Rosemary cardstock and shuffled around until I was happy with the mix.  The Ballerina was a layer buried, glued the Rosemary layer and then pieced the Poinsettia leaves with two sets of Sangria for dimension and curling the tips.  The floral was adhered to the Ballerina base and layered with Sangria.  I didn't have enough space on the bar for my sentiment, so it was placed at the bottom of the floral using Eggplant ink, closest to the Sangria color.  The flowers were brushed using the clear glitter pen.  The one Sangria die cut was used on the bottom of the card inside so it wouldn't go in my stash or trash.

Hey There Pumpkin - Double Trouble Challenge #94

This is my Design Team Card for Double Trouble Challenge "#94 "Fall Garland Inspiration Photo partnering with Use Your Stuff "Fall".  Twisted Sister wanted us to Carve a Pumpkin using scissors, punch, die or die cutting machine and include the pumpkin in the project.  It wasn't very difficult to choose this pumpkin die and cut with my Cuttlebug from one of the design papers from Pumpkin Spice which had all the colors in the "Inspirational Fall Photo" at ColorMyHeart Color Dare#463.

A second pumpkin was cut using orange cardstock, and most of the pieces stayed in place and I only had to piece a part of one of the smaller pumpkins.  The plaid in the same paperpack was a great background for this colorful pumpkin die cut and the sentiment from the sticker sheet was perfect.

"Boo Crew" - Color Dare #464

Here is my Design Team Card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #464 "Triple Play" using Boo Crew CTMH paperpack which is perfect for this Triple Play.  Used the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch Challenge #526 but instead of the option of plaid and checkers, I chose two different striped and design sheets.

The upper design paper was selected for a starry Halloween nite to layer my ghosts on... with the bottom design paper used as my bubble of words for all the cute sentiments.  All pieces were layered with Wild Berry cardstock.

Be careful when you open the card... BOO!  Don't be scared, they are only paper.
