DTC Challenge #208 3-2-1 Recipe "Waddle We Do Next"

This is my Design Team project for Double Trouble #208 3-2-1 Recipe "Waddle We Do Next". When I saw Twisted Sister's optional twist to include a penguin, there was no question in my mind, a penguin card it would be. May be a little out of the box, but my inspiration was from our sister's challenge TSOT's sketch.

While looking for my CTMH penguin stamp set I came across this cute summer stamp set from Rubbernecker (aka as Brass & Bliss) which my daughter had gifted me some time ago and never used.

This stamp set needed a beach scene so I pulled out a retired stamp set from CTMH "Writing in the Sand" and stamped sea and sand on a piece of vanilla cardstock. The sea was first stamped with Peacock, moved cardstock up slightly and stamped with Sea Glass and then used Sea Glass and lightly sponged all of the sea portion. The sand portion it was stamped with Chocolate ink and then lightly sponged with the same color. Used an oval die to cut the sea/sand and adhered to a blue panel, and then to card base.

Stamped all the images using Momento black ink, cut with my Brother ScanNCcut, colored with Copic Sketch pens, and adhered using glue and 3D thin foam tape for dimension.

Please hop on over and join us at Double Trouble, have fun with our 3-2-1 Recipe "Waddle We Do Next" and play along with our optional twist and dare while earning additional chances to our random draw. Check out the Design Teams inspirations, optional twists and dare and let us see what you create... hope to see you there.

Then hop on over to our sister challenge,Try a Sketch On Tuesday to check out the Design Teams inspiration, and you may want to consider using their sketch with our 3-2-1 recipe.

TSOT Sketch Challenge #674 and DTC #195 3-2-1 Recipe "Inky Pinkies"

This is my Design Team project for Try a Sketch on Tuesday (TSOT) Sketch #674 and combining it with out Sister Challenge, Double Trouble #195 3-2-1 Recipe "Inky Pinkies"

Here is another card with the same style as my previous card but using different stamps. Again I went to my stash to look through my backgrounds previously created and foiled with gold. Chose a stamp set that I had never used before and it was begging me to use it.  Added a sentiment and strips of the background on the inside of card base on the right-hand border.

Please hop on over to Try a Sketch On Tuesday, check out the Design Team's inspiration for this sketch and share your creativity... hope to see you there.

You may want to hop on over to our sister challenge, Double Trouble to see if you have already met their 3-2-1 Recipe ingredients. If you have, you can enter the challenge and be eligible for random drawing chances... or maybe you just have to add an ingredient to meet the requirement. Hope to see you there.

DTC #195 3-2-1 Recipe "Inky Pinkies" Beautiful Wishes.. AND TSOT #674

This is my Design Team project for Double Trouble #195 using the 3-2-1 Recipe "Inky Pinkies" and combining it with our Sister Challenge, Try a Sketch on Tuesday (TSOT Sketch #674) which starts on July 7th. This card will not be entered in TSOT challenge due to the backlinking rule but used as an example of combining the two challenges for interested participants.

I love this style of card but I don't do them very often.  I like to experiment with them as there are a lot of cardmakers that do this style and make it look simple... but don't let that fool you... it's not that simple.
It was fun to look through my stash for backgrounds peviously made and foiled to use with one of my favorite butterfly floral stamps and with an add of a couple more stamps it seemed to fit the sketch.  Added a sentiment and strips of the background on the inside of card base on the right-hand border.

Please hop on over and join us at Double Trouble, have fun with our 3-2-1 Recipe " " and play along with our optional twist and dare while earning additional chances to our random draw.

A Very Merry Christmas - Try a Sketch on Tuesday Challenge #660

Here is my Design Team card for Try a Sketch on Tuesday Challenge #660.  When this sketch came up I already knew my favorite snowflake die would be used. First, a cross-stitched border die was placed diagonally from top corner to the opposite bottom corner and cut to use as the division of the four panels. Then the snowflake die was cut on the same white cardstock in the center, bordered with Capri blue cardstock and then adhered to card base.

A friend of mine gave me this penguin stamp and it got buried in my stash. I was working on my inventory and came across this stamp and put it aside for one of my next Christmas cards... it was a nice fit for this sketch and hid the center messy cut from the die cuts. Hecter's presents and hat were colored using Copic sketch brushes using a match of the blues, fussy-cut and adhered with 3D thin foam tape over the snowflake.

I was not happy with a plain white background... so decided to randomly stamp snowflakes using the second generation stamping technique. This made me happy and it reflected the faded pattern as in the sketch.

A small sentiment was stamped with Black Memento Ink and some Bitty Sparkles placed around the snowflake.

Merry Christmas - Double Trouble #180 "Stitch It Up" partnering with AHSC #604

This is my Design Team project for Double Trouble Challenge #180 "Stitch It Up" wherein I used both a background diamond die and a scalloped frame to meet the requiremen of stitches.

Twisted Sister's optional twist was to use the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #604, a fun sketch,  but didn't know where I was going with it. The poinsettia band die gave me both the buckle and the band and a couople gold gems were added kitty-corner to the poinsettia with a larger gem middle of flower.

The poinsettia band die was cut using patterned paper three times for dimension plus widen the band, adhered to the stitched frame, and bordered with the same patterned paper.  Sentiment was die cut using white to blend in with the background.

Please hop on over and join us at Double Trouble. Have fun with our challenge requirement and play along with optional twists to be eligible to enter your project in our partner's challenge while earning additional chances to our random draw.

Check out the Design Teams inspirations, and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.

Color Dare 610 Six Pack "Hugs"

Here is my Design Team card for Color Dare #610 "Six Pack" using at least three of the colors (Flamingo, Peach, Lagoon + Sage) and combined these colors using the Try a Sketch on Tuesday #651, our Double Trouble sister challenge, rotating sketch left for portrait and using a Butterfly as my circle.  A sentiment was required for the sketch so I used letter stamps on the patterned paper for a vertical sentiment and layered with Mink cardstock.

This card started out with a stamped image on white cardstock and colored using Copic Sketch pens, along with a second stamped on white cardstock to use for dimensional piece for the left-side of the butterfly.

I wasn't happy with the match of colors so stamped another image on a patterned paper and layered with Mink cardstock. Fussy cut the layered butterfly left wing and the other florals. Stamped a partial image of the butterfly (floral side) on a Peach patterned paper to replace the colored florals I was not happy with. Some of the florals were adhered direct to the stamped image on the patterned papers and some were adhered with 3D thin foam tape.

On the inside left-over fussy-cuts of the floral were colored and adhered direct to bottom corner of the cardbase in colors

Please hop on over and join us at Color Dare's Color Board #610 and check out the Design Teams inspiration, and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.

Birthday Wishes - Double Trouble #162 "Spring Florals" partnering with Beautiful Blossoms

This is my Design Team project for Double Trouble "Spring Florals", partnering with Beautiful Blossoms Mood Board #15 "Anything Goes Floral", using a favorite floral image. Beautiful Blossoms Mood Board is an inspiration tool, but not a requirement however, must have flower(s)/floral(s). I also chose to used Twisted Sister's optional twist "include an Easter element and/or bonnets or baskets" with your floral, but this is not a requirement of our partner.

I did a couple experiments masking the bunny in between the two florals and this was my final... others will go in my stash.

My first inspiration was to use the bolder colors in the Mood Board; however with the itty-bitty bunny I felt a variety of Copic pastel colors would be perfect for the florals. There was a lot of detail in the floral stamping itself so I used a watercolor affect instead of blending as I wanted that detail to show. The sentiment curve balanced and filled in the white space and the glacier border was perfect for framing.

On the insideright corner of card base another stamp and masking was done using the smaller floral and bunny colored lightly with pastel Copic markers.

Please hop on over and join us at Double Trouble and Beautiful Blossoms to check out the Design Teams inspiration. Challenge yourself to add the optional twists and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.

Guest Designer at Creative Creases - Double Flap Fun Fold

I'm so happy to be the Guest Designer for Creative Creases "Anything Goes Fun Folds" Challenge #47.

One of my favorite places to find Fun Fold's is at Create with Alyson - Membership because she has them sorted in albums named Fancy Fold Card (Easy, Medium and More Difficult). Great printable document of measurements and photo of card along with a video to follow to complete your card.  You may even learn a trick or two, tools to use and products you NEED.  You do have to invite yourself for membership; but it is well worth it.

There were many cuts to this card; but the assembly was easy.  More time was spent deciding what stamps, papers, dies, sentiments, etc. to use and then where to place them.  In fact I had so many cuts I was able to create a second card very similar to this one. Stickers and Papers used were from CTMH "Christmas Story" paperpack.

Make sure you stop by Creative Creases to see the inspiration from the Design Team and entrants... there are so many fun folds to choose from... hope to see you there.

I'm Stuck on You - Double Trouble Challenge #105 "Bring On the Green" partnering with Heart2Heart

Here is my Design Team card for Double Trouble Challenge #105 "Bring on the Green" and using Twisted Sister's optional twist to "include plaid" and partnering with Heart2Heart "Wearin' of the Green".

Started with a stencil to create a personalized plaid on white cardstock, brushing in a couple shades of green, cut plaid with a stitched frame, layered with Evergreen cardstock and also stamped sentiment in Evergreen.

The Cacti images were stamped with inks Evergreen and Pomegranate and the clay pots with inks Toffee and Tangerine. The pots and cacti were masked, colored with Copic brush pens, and adhered to plaid frame with thin foam tape for dimension. Added some white highlights on the cacti and dotted the center of the flower with

A larger stitched frame layered with Evergreen was cut, adhered to card base and the Plaid focal point adhered to the White stitched frame.

Hugs - Double Trouble Challenge #82 "Flowers"

Here is my Design Team card for Double Trouble Challenge #82 "Flowers" and using the Color Palette and first-time partner at Make the Cards Color Challenge #13 "Candy Coated".

Don't you love this combination of colors for a pretty floral... of course who lacks floral stamps or images.  Chose a foral stamp and die set that had not yet been used along with the stitched lattice background die, a perfect setting for my floral.  Cut an A2 size panel using Lagoon cardstock, die cut the background lattice in Mint cardstock and adhered to the Lagoon panel.

The hard part is to closely match my Copic Sketch brush pens with the "Candy Coated" color challenge and my cardstock... believe I met this challenge.  I used the thin dies to cut the floral but also did a little fussy-cutting where the florals overlap each other, adhered with thin foam tape for dimension and a little glitter pen on the flowers.

A sentiment die "Hugs" was selected and cut using both Mint and Lagoon cardstock, adhered Mint direct to lattice and layered off-set with Lagoon for dimension.

At Double Trouble Our Things 1, 2 and 3 sure bring on some wierd combinations but I like to challenge them all; however, you have the flexibility of doing just Thing 1 "Flowers" and be eligible for our random draw.

For those that really like more of a challenge may want to include Twisted Sister's optional twist and/or enter at Make The Cards Challenge, our partner for this challenge if you have met their requirement... and you will be rewarded additional chances for the random draw.
