Sit & Stay - Double Trouble Challenge #85 "Something, Anything, Everything" - and YoYo Fun

This is my Design Team Card for Double Trouble Challenge #85 "Something, Anything, Everything" and chose Crafting Happiness as my previoius partnering.

My daughter and I went to her cabin for a weekend of crafting; but they don't have cable available so we have a limited use of hotspot and stash. Of course I hadn't decided what my inspiration was going to be for this challenge before leaving home.

Twisted Sister has a great optional twist using a YoYo Trick for inspiration. All you need to do is pick one of the samples given in the post or choose from 50 YoYo Tricks HERE.  In my travels I came across "Over the Falls" trick and got excited... my inspiration was to make a Water Fall Card.  Unfortunately my die for cutting a Water Fall card was at home which would have made it so much simpler.  You Tube here I come... tutorial is Waterfall Card By Dawn

My daughter had a doggie stamp with cute sentiments and perfect for my waterfall card which doubled my inspiration with another YoYo trick "Walk The Dog".

Followed the tutorial on the different cuts for the backgrond and water fall cuts and scoring.  Stamped images using Black Memento Ink and coloring with Copic Sketch Brush pens in a variety of colors, added images to scored flap and placed the waterfall to the background papers.  Masked Lucy and the dog food dish and added another sentiment.  Lucy's outfit was stamped on design paper, fussy-cut and pieced on Lucy's image.  Here are a couple more photos when the waterfall tab is pulled down.

At Double Trouble Our Things 1, 2 and 3 sure bring on some wierd combinations but I like to challenge them all; however, you have the flexibility of doing just Thing 1 to create a theme "Something, Anything, Everything" to be eligible for our random draw. This challenge runs for one week only.

For those that really like more of a challenge may want to include Twisted Sister's optional twist and choose to enter one of our previous partners... and you will be rewarded an addtional chance at our random draw.

We have added another Special YoYo Bonus Entry including any recent or old photo or scrapbook page (backlinking accepted) to include a YoYo. If we have 10 persons participating in this challenge there will be a separate random draw and a $40 CloseToMyHeart product selection.  Please join us for this fun challenge too.

You're So Tweet - Happy Bird-day - Color Dare #446

This is my Design Team Card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #446, using all three colors (Blue, Yellow and Gray) with black, white and silver free.  The sketch used is Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #422.

My CTMH order came in today and "So Tweet" stamp set was perfect for this color challenge.  Yellow for the chick, blue for the balloons and a mix-in gray and white design paper for the inner frame.

Layered my two design papers with Bluebird cardstock. Stamped chick with balloon in black, colored with Copic Sketch pens, used the thin cuts and adhered to background with 3D thin foam tape for dimension.  Stamped a second chick, clipped off the balloon and fussy-cut the flowers, colored and adhered both with 3D thin foam tape and added a balloon string to the second balloon. The sentiments and butterfly were from the same stamp set and stamped directly on the background papers.

You Deserve a You Day - Double Trouble Challenge #84

Here is my Design Team card for Double Trouble "It's a You Day", using Twisted Sister's optional twist to "include bling" and sharing with our partner Stinkin' Inkers Challenge # "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun".

Again, went through my container of unfinished Copic Class card kits and found a perfect girly-girl image... and much to my surprise all the coloring had been completed in class. Modified the image panel cut slightly and changed the design paper to strawberries instead of flowers.  Added the Nuvo drops and sentiment.

At Double Trouble Our Things 1, 2 and 3 sure bring on some wierd combinations but I like to challenge them all; however, you have the flexibility of doing just Thing 1 to create a theme "It's a You Day" girly girl project and be eligible for our random draw.

For those that really like more of a challenge may want to include Twisted Sister's optional twist and/or enter at Stinkin' Inkers "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun", our partner for this challenge, if you have met their requirement... and you will be rewarded additional chances for the random draw. A Bunch of Hugs - Color Dare #444 TicTacToe

I just received my CTMH "Cherry Blossom" stamp set and "You Are Enough"  paperpack and thought this would be a great combination for our ColorMyHeart Color Dare Challenge #444 TicTacToe. I chose to use Column 1 (Peach, Ballerina, Sangria) and the one design paper had all three colors... a no brainer.  My first thought was to use Frosted Crystal embossing powder but decided to do one of the smaller stamps and test it... wasn't happy with it and decided on white.

Using the Cherry Blossom branch... stamped with VersaMark and embossed with white; however the background was too light and stamped/embossed two more times... not happy.

Cut another piece of the same paper with the darker pinks and again stamped and embossed with White and it displayed better.... still not happy.

Took my first attempt with the layers of embossing to test one more VersaMark but used Black embossing powder... oooh, I kinda liked that but the black and white made it smokey looking.

Sooooo, one more cut of the pretty paper, again in the darker pinks, using VersaMark with Black embossing powder... I WAS Happy.

Well, when I started playing with the layout of My Happy Card, several backgrounds were considered and after finally deciding on the layout I again looked at my not so happy ones and was convinced that they were not going in my wastebasket.  I was going to make them Happy.  A little fussy-cutting and different backgrounds... now I am confused as to why I was unhappy.  These are my Happy cards.

And they all deserved HUGS.  And on the inside of each was a corner sentiment  "Thinking of You" with a small cherry blossom.  These cards are versatile and can be used for anyone you want to HUG or someone in need of HUGS.

Ribbiting News - Double Trouble Challenge # 83 "Fun Fold"

Here is my Design Team card for our Challenge #83 at Double Trouble "Fun Fold" to include Twisted Sister's optional twist "Froggy", and sharing with our partner at Crafting Happiness Challenge #  "Anything Goes".  Following the tutorial for this Fun Fold Card... pieces were cut for the card base, frame and design papers. After adhering the design papers the smaller die was use to cut through the front of the card.

My card was modified on the inside scalloped circle because the stamps I intended to use needed additional space.  The larger scalloped circle was cut with white cardstock and then stamped three images using the masking technique.  My masked garden scene was colored with a variety of Copic Sketch brush pens (alcohol-based), and adhered to the inside double fold on the right-hand side.  Another frog was stamped, colored and just the head of the frog was fussy-cut and placed on frog with 3D thin foam tape for dimension.

On the bottom inside of the card, again using the masking technique, several of the stamps from "Gnome Matter" were stamped directly on the card base to create a continuation of the garden scene along with another Gnome and frog.  Again, took to my Copic brush pens and colored using many of the same colors, along with another fussy-cut of head only to add to frog in the border scene.

I was so pleased with it; but it needed one more thing.  So... I cut two frogs, colored, and again fussy-cut one of them, head only, and adhered with 3D thin foam tape to the other.  Found the perfect spot for this frog on top of the mushroom and adhered with glue.

On the front of the card the Sentiment "Ribbiting News" gives the flexibility of using this card for any occasion.  The gnome and frog sentiment were added to the inside of the card base, and the upper left-hand corner was left blank for another sentiment relative to the occasion it will be given.

At Double Trouble Our Things 1, 2 and 3 sure bring on some wierd combinations but I like to challenge them all; however, you have the flexibility of doing just Thing 1 "Create a Fun Fold" and be eligible for our random draw.

For those that really like more of a challenge may want to include Twisted Sister's optional twist and/or enter at Crafting Happiness, our partner for this challenge if you have met their requirement... and you will be rewarded additional chances for the random draw.
