Congratulations - AHSC #227

This sketch was CAS and thought I needed to do a classy congratulations card, open for many occasions.  So I went with the new Basic Fundamental design papers along with the beautiful Bashful Glitter.  Pulled out a few die cuts I thought would enhance this sketch, layering the cuts and adhered with 3D Thin Foam Tape. A few pearl embellishments. Very pleased...and found "classy".

My card this week as Design Team Member for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #227. Join this challenge...you have until Sunday, Sept 3rd to enter your project.

The design team reveal for this sketch will be on Wednesday, so be sure to stop by to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team and other entrant inspirations for this challenge...and stop by every Monday for new sketches. Love - H2H Aug Wk #5

My DT Card this week was all CTMH products, in CTMH Style choosing a favorite retired paperpack "Charlotte", using one of the PML cards, several design papers and complements.  Very easy card to make...just cut a bunch of triangular pieces of design papers, spaced and adhered them to black cardstock.  Chose a PML card with a sentiment , added a black border and adhered to background with a foam square for dimension. Selected some of the complements and placed randomly on the outside and inside of card, adhered some of them using 3D Thin Foam Tape.

This is my Design Team project for Heart2Heart "Anything Goes, CTMH Style"What a challenge it is...Anything Goes. As long as you use at least one Close to My Heart product, the sky is the limit.  We will love being inspired by your card, layout, decorative item or whatever you can come up! So bring out your favorite paper and/or stamp set and wow us with your creation!  Hop on by and check out the inspirational projects our Design Team and entrants have put together and share with us your creative projects.

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas - Color Dare #258

Love Poinsettias...while on a break from a Copic Class this past weekend at our local Scrapbook Store, what do you do? Of course look for something you need. Since the color challenge had Ruby this was a necessary purchase for my Design Team Card, and the greens sufficed for the leaves and a Holly die purchased a couple weeks ago in preparation for Christmas cards (another necessary purchase).  And what a great sketch to display my new dies.

The background was a design paper from Zoe using sweet leaf, which took on the look of the sketch background.  Cut the poinsettias, distressed edges and stenciled with ruby ink, and did the same for the leaves in juniper ink.  Cut the Holly and cut off some of the stems so they could be placed around the sentiment panel in place of a doily.  The dots were a cut from the center of the poinsettia which was cut in ruby, placed randomly on the holly leaves, inside and outside of the card.

Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge #258: We are challenging you to using CTMH Challenge "Jack" Paper Pack (All and Only) Colors: Juniper, Ruby, Slate, Sweet Leaf, Whisper, White Daisy and Black.

If you don’t have these CTMH colors you may substitute similar colors. Hop on by and see the many inspirational cards by our DT and other entrants.  See below for Announcement for next month's color challenges

CTMH colors were used in combination to the Tuesday Morning Sketches #417

and  theme from Camp Create Day 5: Delightful Die Cutting

Since this was an All and Only, I wasn't sure how I was going to bring in the whisper and slate on this card, but going through my CTMH embellishments there was a set of "Licorice gems" which had these two shades of gray.

The left over holly leaves were used on the inside of the card as a border and more poinsettia dies cut in ruby.

MFT Camp Create Bonus: Gather ‘Round the Campfire'

MFT Camp Create Bonus: Gather ‘Round the Campfire' - Awesome Ombre Technique.  Did several backgrounds before satisfied with my watercoloring using the Ombre technique...now what?
Going through some of my stamps found one of my more detailed stamp sets that I thought would look good with gold heat embossing.  It didn't cover good the first time so did some guess work on lining up the stamp again to catch the area that was missing the deep gold embossing.  Still missing an area I debated on whether I should line it up again but chose to put my layered sentiment over that area.  Added the Gold mist to the entire card and a few gold gems at the upper left-hand corner.

On the inside of the card the same technique Ombre watercoloring was used on the side border.

Heart2Heart - Aug Week #4

My "Stylish and Classy" Design Team card for H2H was combined with a challenge for "Magnificent Masking".  On white daisy cardstock I sectioned off a panel to create a beautiful sunset with a varity of 13 colors.  Stamped a flower silhouette and grass against the sunset sky.  Added the sentiment in black ink and added Bitty Sparkles randomly.

Coffee You + Me - AHSC #226

My card this week as Design Team Member for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #226. Join this challenge...you have until Sunday, Aug 27th to enter your project.

The MFT coffee cup dies were used to cut into the design paper as my negative to inlay other design paper die cuts using CTMH Paperpack "Jack". The sentiment was just cut across in place of the banner in the sketch and a zip strip added below the sentiment. "Inlaid Made Easy" was a fun challenge.

This card was combined with MFT Camp Day 1 "Inlaid Made Easy" using the MFT Coffee Cup Die and theme from Three Amigo's BlogHop Inspirational Theme "Jack" paperpack.

Aloha - MFT Camp Create Day 4 Monochromatic

My color for this challenge was a variety of shades of purple using the CTMH Patterned Pennants for the background.  One of the pennants had a Hibiscus and to pull this card together I stamped out the Hibiscus in one of the shades of purple, fussy-cut and adhered to background with a thin layer of foam sheet.

Happy - Color Dare 257

Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge #257: We are challenging you to using CTMH Challenge Colors: Slate, Pansy, Lagoon, Blossom and White Daisy and Optional: Silver (All and Only).

My card was combined with MFT Camp Create Day 3 "Background Bonanza" using a stencil bought at a Scrapbook Garage Sale for 50 cents. Sponged the stencil with the three primary colors....love it.   Slate was used for the frame around the stenciled panel.  The Scribble Circles reminded me of the background stencil, cut (2), pieced some of the colors back in the cuts and adhered to card.   Added sentiment with Slate ink and added three silver embellishments (circle punched with silver glitter tape and added liquid glass to appear as gems).

If you don’t have these CTMH colors you may substitute similar colors. Hop on by and see the many inspirational cards by our DT and other entrants.  To see future color challenges click on our side bar for August Sneak Peeks.
On the inside of the card, using the same stencil, added a side border using Pansy Ink.

Hugs & Kisses, It's Your Day - AHSC #225

My card this week as Design Team Member for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #225. Join this challenge...you have until Sunday, Aug 20th to enter your project.

This card was combined with MFT Color Challenge #75 and The Flower Challenge "Focus Background Stamped Flowers" using the Swirly Bird Ribbon for Seize the Birthday "Tie One On", but missed the deadline date for submitting.

The design team reveal for this sketch will be on Wednesday, so be sure to stop by to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team and other entrant inspirations for this challenge...and stop by every Monday for new sketches. Don't wait for the DT post to create your project...show us up with your artwork.

Please visit the other challenges to see the Design Team Members inspiration and other entrants...and you still have time to join in the challenges.

Loved the Color Challenge, but after creating and submitting my card, not sure it will qualify, because I did not use any MFT product.  However, it did not say you must use MFT products but being that it a blog for MFT it may be assumed.  I will be back here to meet another challenge and will use some of my MFT products.

Using an assortment of Stamp Sets the floral background was stamped using CTMH inks closest to the colors in the challenge.  My personal design paper was framed with Lagoon cardstock and adhered to card with a foam backing for dimention.  Instead of the round sentiment in the sketch, decided to cut (2) Swirly Bird Ribbons in Sea Glass and Lagoon, pieced and adhered to foral panel. Sentiment stamped below the Ribbon.

On the inside of the card a border was stamped using one of the same stamp sets using Sea Glass ink.

Live Beautifully - H2H Aug Wk #3

This is my Design Team project for Heart2Heart "Sketch Challenge" ... what a fabulous sketch created by Haley Dyer.  It's fun to see how one sketch can be interpreted in so many creative ways.

My choice was to use "Live Beautifully" and everything on this card are selections of design papers within the packet.  No dies, No sentiment, No embellishments...just some fussy-cutting of the flower and diagonal strip. Adhered both the strip and flower with 3D thin foam tape and used the bone to curve the edges of the flower for more dimension.

Join us at Heart2Heart this week and other challenges in August ... Remember you have all month to create to be eligible for recognition as one of the Top 10 "Darlings".  AND if you create a project for each challenge in the month of Aug, you will earn a badge as an H2H Addict for Perfect Attendance.

For additional inspiration on this Challenge hop on by to see what other Design Team members have created. Hope this gives you some inspiration and enthusiasm to link your artwork as a participant ... we look forward to your creativity.
