Color Dare #640 (Due 02/21)

This is my Design Team project for Color Dare #640 and combining it with Sketch Saturday Challenge #769. My first thought using shades of Brown was to create a masculine card and the focal point in the sketch inspired me to include gears and sprockets.  Masculine cards are not my comfort zone; but I was very happy with the result.

I chose a dark brown wood grain design paper for the smaller panel and used a white and brown patterned paper to brighten up the background, bordered both with Mocha cardstock and adhered to the cardbase.

Die cut each of several sprockets in Espresso but didn't like the color against the other browns so cut another set in bronze metallic and layered on the first cut.  My sprockets took the place of the hexagon and hearts in the sketch and were adhered directly to background and the bottom sprocket using 3d thin foam tape for a little dimension.  Finished off with a Sentiment stamped directly on the woodgrain, and added other sprockets on the inside corner of card base.

OOPS:  When I went to post my card in Color Dare's DT Album, other DT members had an additional color in their projects... re-checking the graphic "Shades of Brown + 1 Color".  Decided to do a quick fix and cut more sprockets in a patterned paper that looked like aging bronze/copper using a greenish/blue color and ahered over the bronze/copper sprockets.

Below is my result prior to fix of + one color.

Please hop on over and join us at Color Dare's Color Board #640 and check out the Design Teams inspiration, and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there and don't make the mistake I did... make sure you have followed the instruction on the color graphic.

You may also like to hop over to Double Trouble 3-2-1 Recipe, to see how easy it might be to combine our sketch challenge or even create another project using our 3-2-1 Recipe.

DTC #152 - Participating with Coffee Lover's Fall/Winter Blog Hop - Day 1

Join us at Double Trouble Challeng #152 "DeJa-BREW" and hop on by and enjoy the CRAFTEINATING inspiration by our Design Team and entrants. This card was inspired by the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #549... perfect for a fun fold.  Almost forgot my pun for Twisted Sister's optional twist... wasn't sure how I was going to get that in without a re-make or new card, but with the help of Thing 2 Double Dare she suggested Cool Beans... so a sign on the snowman to-go-cup was hand-drawn and adhered with thin 3D tape. Phew, that wasn't hard.

DTC is participating with 2023 Coffee Lover's Fall/Winter Blog Hop and here is my Coffee themed card for Day 1.  AND I have some blog candy for you today! Be sure to comment on Double Trouble Challenge post HERE and win a prize from me!

This was a fun card to put together in meeting all the requirements of the three challenges.  These design papers were a gift as winner of the August BYSHC Challenge #36 and I will be using more papers in future Christmas cards.

When opening card on L-H side there is another sentiment and a Holly to meet the requirement at Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge #23.

Opening on the R-H side there is a Penquin holding another sentiment leaving some room for signature on bottom.  Turn to the back of the card and you have plenty of space for a personal message to your recipient.

Hope to see you at Double Trouble "DeJa-BREW" and win another chance at our random draw if you have entered your coffee themed project at the Coffee Lover's Blog Hop... and add a funny pun on your project for another chance.

All our Team Members at Double Trouble have BLOG CANDY!  We hope you'll visit each member's individual blog, view the prize, and leave a comment - BUT - this will not qualify you for the prizes. After viewing each individual blog, go back to the Double Trouble Blog and leave a comment. From those comments, we will randomly select the names of Blog Candy recipients. Please join in the fun. Be sure to comment on Double Trouble Challenge post HERE and win a prize from me!  Here is a photo of my Blog Candy giveaway.

And don't forget the perk at Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge #23 if you have created a Christmas coffee theme card and have included a holly.

Sweet Holiday Wishes "Christmas in July" Santa's Hat

This is my Design Team card for Double Trouble Challenge #143 "Christmas in July" partnering with with Jingle Belles Challenge "Santa's Hat"

Still feeling the heat of Summer in Arizona I linked HERE again to listen to Christmas Carols. When going through my stash... found two cute reindeers, one with a Santa hat already stamped and cut, some patterned paper with Santa Hats and a coordinating polka-dot paper.  Picked up my Copic Sketch pens and started coloring.  Used the two patterned papers for my background and adhered the deer with 3D thin foam tape.

Added little embellishments, a stamped swirl star on Coffee Cup die cut, a Christmas Present which was pieced with two design papers and sentiment  printed on the speech bubble die cut in black ink.

Have a Roaring Good Day - Mon 05/15 DTC #138 "Krafty Crafting"

Here is my Design Team card for Double Trouble Challenge #138 "Krafty Crafting" using brown paper Bags, Kraft paper, or something similar, and Twisted Sister's optional twist to include "an Animal".  This challenge we are partnering with The Crafter's Cafe "Animals".

Looking through my Copic class incomplete projects I found an adorable Whimsy "Little Lion" not yet colored. This was an extra image purchase during a Copic Class at our local Scrapbook store with Jennifer Dove... again, an easier task when you have visual instructions on the coloring; but I got through the sample of the coloring and think it turned out pretty good. I chose this image because I was planning on doing a monochromatic in Browns. The Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch Challenge #606 with a Optional Twist of "Dies and/or Punches" was an excellent sketch for the Little Lion.

I had so many choices of Kraft and Brown patterned papers and putting the patterns together was a little time consuming but happy with the choices... the banner being the most difficult.  The banner was made up of two Mix-In papers and Mocha cardstock.  On the striped pattern the edges were die cut using a Tailored Stitch Die spacing it so I could use one of the Zip Strips in between the scallops. Using Mocha cardstock cut another panel to place behind the stripe/zip strip.

Adhered the Little Lion to the completed Sketch with 3D thin foam tape to lift up the paws and the head rounding for dimension. Sentiment was added directed to patterned paper using Black ink and the inside of the card, bottom border was lined with the dots pattern and another scallop cut.

Please hop on over and join us at Double Trouble Challenge #133 "Pinch Proof" and check out the Design Teams inspiration, and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there. You may also want to hop on over to The Crafter's Cafe and check out their Design Team projects too.

Happy Birthday - CD #548 "Only Two"

This is my Design Team card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #542 "Two Only".  Pewter is a Must Use and my choice of the second color is Peach. Stamped and die cut the Elephant on both the light and dark side of Pewter cardstock, fussy-cut the Lighter elephant, cut around the ear to prop with 3D foam tape and adhered to the darker side for shadow.  Stamped and die cut the four balloons in Pewter Ink on Peach Cardstock and adhered with 3D foam tape randomly on the background  and die cut.

For the inside of the card, I stamped some balloons along the right-hand side border.

Please hop on over and join us at ColorMyHeart Color Dare and check out the Design Teams inspiration, and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.

Wishing You a Purr-fect Christmas - ColorMyHeart Color Dare #530 partnering with Double Trouble

This is my DT card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #530 "Triple Play"... you MUST use the three colors, or closest match, and no additional colors.  But you do have the flexibility of All Neutrals and Metallics are free.

Color Dare is partnering with Double Trouble Challenge #129 "Cuddle Up" and Thing 1 Trouble Maker has a Warm & Cuddly 3-2-1 Recipe and using the Color Board's three colors gives you the first ingredient of their recipe. Add at least 2 layers, and 1 cuddly digital or stamped image and you can join their challenge too.

I still needed Christmas cards, and I thought these colors would be fun non-traditional colors and the theme was for two of my grandkids, one with dogs, and the other with cats... and had the perfect stamp for the Holidays. Below are the two cards made with the stamps from "A Furry Merry Christmas". Click here to see my DT Card for Double Trouble Challenge #129 "Cuddle Up".

Happiness Is YOU By My Side

This is my card for Day 5 at the 2022 Coffee Lover's Fall/Winter Blog Hop.

Love my stash... found an image and card kit from Jenn Dove's Copic Class at a local Craft Shop long time ago which only needed a little touch up to complete the coloring. Used the checkered ribbon froom the card kit and made my own Christmas coffee themed layout.  Cut the image with an scalloped oval die and a border die from the same die set with chocolate cardstock.

The coffee themed patterned paper with cups and coffee beans were a good match of color for the background and the framed house mice.  This was then bordered with Chocolate cardstock and adhered to card base.  The sentiment chosen was a good fit for the house mice and printed partially on the focal point with the bolder part of sentiment on the r-h corner directly on the patterned paper.

Don't forget Thing 1 (me) is asking you to join us at Double Trouble in participation with the 2022 Coffee Lover's Blog Hop.  I'm getting the JITTERS FOR JAVA which MOCHA me crazy.  So get started... rise and GRIND, throw on a TEAshirt and sweats, grab a CUPPA your favorite and don't be LATTE.  Enjoy the CRAFTEINATING inspiration, hop along, stay GROUNDED and no ProCAFFEINATING.

Hope to see you at Double Trouble and win another chance at our random draw if you have entered your project at the Coffee Lover's Blog Hop... and add a funny pun on your project for another chance.

From Our House To Your House - Coffee Lover's Blog Hop

This is my card for Day 3 at the 2022 Coffee Lover's Fall/Winter Blog Hop and also sharing in the "Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge #11" to include at least one holly element.

Once again going to my stash to look for some images from Jenn Dove's Bootcamp from December 2021.  Pulled out this adorable Mouse image from Whimsy, partially colored... another perfect find from my stash. So I pulled out my Boot Camp Notebook and obtained the colors needed to complete the coloring. Added a handle to the tree holder to look like a cup of coffee or tea.  The image was cut for a rectangular frame and partially fussy-cut the mouse's head to hang over the side, added a Candy Apple border and adhered to the patterned paper.

Found a nice match of colors in my stash of patterened papers using both sides... one cut with a border die and the other to fit the rest of the card base.  I used the strip from the border cut and adhered it to the r-h side of card just because it softened up the cut and used Candy Apple cardstock for border and adhered to card base.
