Joy to The World - Double Trouble Challenge #13

This card was made for Double Trouble Challenge #13 "Who says 13 has to be unlucky? And besides it's a Monday not a Friday?" Let's turn it around and join us for Double Trouble's Lucky #13 Challenge. This is a Free for All challenge so have a little fun creating with "Some Thing", "Any Thing" and "Every Thing". Remember, this is a one-week challenge.

Twisted Sister agrees #13 can be a lucky number. Include your lucky number on a project. For example, this can be a die-cut, hand-drawn or stamped number, a pair of dice, playing cards, etc. This is an OPTIONAL TWIST but it's so easy that we hope everyone will join in. If you do the twist, Double Trouble will give you an extra chance in the random draw.

Double Dare has more than doubled the fun. Link up your project with any of our previous partners for an additional chance for the Double Trouble random draw.  Go to the post HERE for the list of previous partners.

Hello Pumpkin - H2H Oct Week 5

This card was made for Heart2Heart "Pumpkin Spice" theme using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #287.  Ohhh, who doesn't like Pumpkin Spice Latte. It wasn't difficult for me to pull out one of my coffee cup dies and piece together with kraft and one of my design papers from Hello Pumpkin paper pack.  Die cut three different size pumpkins and adhered the smallest one to the coffee sleeve along with a sentiment.

Chose the plaid for my background and for the largest pumpkin placing the pumpkin and matching the pattern of the background to make it appear like an eclipse card.  Leaves were placed on each pumpkin, and another sentiment stamped on bottom.

Oooops, I went to post my card in the challenge, but I was a day late and a dollar short, but still enjoyed using their sketch for my Pumpkin Spice card.

Hop on by this week's Heart2Heart theme to see inspirations from Design Team members. Warmest Wishes - Color Dare #316

Well, I guess I better take some time for my Christmas cards as it is just around the corner and I only have about 10 cards in my stash.  The ColorMyHeart Color Dare Challenge #316 "monochromatic using Green" was perfect.  The frame had been cut for a previous challenge but never used. Wanted my white candles to pop out so used a grey (mink) background design paper for the background.  Die cut (3) of the candle image from Daisy White and the dark and light sides of Clover.  Pieced the white candles and used the darker green negatives to insert in the leaves.  Sentiment was stamped directly on background using Ponderosa Pine (retired) ink.

We usually use CTMH color names for reference. However this week we invite you to use your choice of Greens to create a monochromatic project. Neutrals of your choice are free to use.

Please stop by and view the DT's inspiration and join us...we would love to see the projects you create. We welcome Stampin' Up and all the other color competitors to join our challenge. This Color Dare Challenge will be open for (2) weeks AND you still have time to enter in our previous Color Dare #315 Click Here

Happy Halloween - Color Dare #315

My DT project for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #315 was made using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #286.  When I saw this color grid my thought was Candy Corn so I chose the right-hand row of Nectarine, Lemon and Black.  Went to Cricut Design Space, die cut candy corn using nectarine, yellow and white, outlined the sections, cut a black shadow around candy corn and stamped on the face and sentiment.  Found another stampset to use for the small candy corn, stamped in Nectarine on white cardstock, colored the yellow, layered on black paper for shadow, fussy-cut the candy corn, placed as embellishment on the background design paper selected and then framed it on black cardstock before adding to card base.

After posting my card in several challenges... decided to repair the eyes because they appeared spooky instead of sweet and cute. The first attempt was to pull off the spooky googly eyes, re-stamp and re-apply the eyes with liquid glass.

Not happy with double stamping or torn paper. Second attempt removed the original white cardstock off the candy corn layer, re-cut, stamped and applied liquid glass carefully using less.  Now Happy … this gave me my sweet and cute as in above card.

We use CTMH color names for reference... however, don't be afraid to use any products as long as you match closest to the colors in the Board.  Choose your row, column or diagonal and if desired, other colors from the Board can be used.  New Guidelines on Neutrals: White, Cream, Black, Gray, Kraft and Brown(s) are free to use; however if they are included
in the challenge graphic they MUST be used in your creation.

Layout Sketch - H2H Oct - Week 3

Took the dare at Heart2Heart "Layout Sketch" and instead of using this layout pattern for a scrapbook page created a card using several of the design papers from CTMH "Grateful Heart".  Cut several panels of design papers sized proportionately for an A2 Card, fussy-cut some flowers from the floral design paper to reflect where the photos would have been placed, cut the PML card in two pieces … one for the main photo and sentiment takes the place of Love and journaling.  Happy with using the scrapbook pattern for a festive Thanksgiving card.

A Treat For You - Double Trouble Challenge #12

My project for Double Trouble "Halloween and Fall Season" and partnering with The Paper Girls #162 Halloween.  The tutorial that I used for my Halloween Treat Box is below in my Products List.  Chose three of the design papers from "Hello Pumpkin", cut several panels for the sides and top while layering each with black.  Selected several dies from my stash, starting cutting and adhered throughout my box panels. Added some candy in the inside pockets of the gift box for my husband.

I had forgotten that Twisted Sister asked for an optional twist "a frame".  Since I already had my sweet witch adhered and didn't want to cover up the pretty design paper, I improvised.  Die cut an oval frame using  the same paper, tore off the witch and applied the oval to the 3D thin foam tape used when layering the witch, die cut two more witches, layered and applied with glue to the oval.  I'm sure this will make her very happy and I want to keep Twisted Sister happy, or who knows - she may come to my home and unwrap her costume and place it in my tree.

In addition to entering your Halloween card at The Paper Girls, please find your way to my daughter's challenge "Three Amigos Challenge #19 Autumn/Halloween" and enter there too for eligibility to random draw gift at the end of the month.

Boo - Let the Witching Hour Begin - Color Dare #314

This card is my Design Team Card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #314 using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #285 and theme from Three Amigos Challenge 19 "Autumn/ Halloween".  Well, my first thought was a Halloween card so selected "Hello Pumpkin" for my design paper and pulled out one of the PML cards, die cut a Halloween Village border and adhered with 3d thin foam tape above the sentiment.

The background was a design paper from "Oh What Fun" and layered with Clover cardstock.  The only thing left where I could pull in the Lagoon was another design paper for one of the banners and made a banner from the other two designs I used on the card.  For the banners just picked another design paper to pull in the third color and added a sentiment "Boo".  Wink of Stella added to the Boo Sentiment and the Halloween Village border.

We use CTMH color names for reference... however, you are welcome to use any products as long as you match closest to the colors in the Board and no additional colors except those on the color palette.  New Guidelines on Neutrals: White, Cream, Black, Gray, Kraft and Brown(s) are free to use; however if they are included in the challenge graphic they MUST be used in your creation.
