DTC #196 3-2-1 Recipe "Keep Us In Stitches" and TSOT #675

This is my Design Team project for Double Trouble #196 using the 3-2-1 Recipe "Keep Us in Stitches" and combining it with our Sister Challenge, Try a Sketch on Tuesday (TSOT Sketch #675) which starts on July 7th. This card will not be entered in TSOT challenge due to the backlinking rule but used as an example of combining the two challenges for interested participants.

This CTMH paperpack was one of my favorite patterned papers for newborn and kid cards... patterns are so whimsical and love the bright colors. This sketch captures all the papers and it was so easy to include the images from a coordinating stamp and die set with the same theme.

Two of the patterned papers (plaid and polka-dot) were cut as in sketch, adhered to blue cardstock, die cut using a stitched frame along the border and adhered to the card base.

The three stitched circles were cut using the cloud pattern and adhered direct to background.  Images were stamped, die cut, colored with Copic sketch pens (alchohol base) and adhered to the circles using thin 3D foam tape.

A sentiment had been stamped with black ink prior to placing the baby on the circle. However, while posting I noticed Twisted Sister's optional twist (a fun pun) was not included on my card. So I looked on the Internet and the only pun I found was Stork Naked which reminded me of Stork Naked with Daffy Duck's Looney Toons. So a quick fix, removed baby from circle, a new circle cut of clouds, a typed sentiment bordered with blue cardstock and all adhered to card base background. Daffy wasn't to happy with the delivery but I think anyone who gets the card above submitted will get a laugh out of it.

In the upper L-H corner of the front of card three stitched hearts were fussy cut and adhered direct to background. Stork Naked Daffy Duck

Color Dare #648 - For My Peeps, Happy Easter

This is my Design Team project for Color Dare #648 combined with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #625.

Yellow was a must use, and being around Easter, it was the perfect color to make a chick peep.  And it was only appropriate for plus one color to use a pink bunny peep. Went through my scraps of paper for patterned papers in yellow and pink and cut frames using Waffle Flower's pretty Lacy Layers.  The sentiment was typed, printed and layered and adhered to the bottom of the frame.  CAS and a fast card.

Please hop on over and join us at Color Dare's Color Board #648 and check out the Design Teams inspiration, and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.

TSOT Sketch #668 - Bundle of Joy, Welcome Baby

This is my Design Team project for Try a Sketch on Tuesday (TSOT Sketch #668) and combining it with our Sister Challenge,  Double Trouble #189 using the 3-2-1 Recipe "Hippity, Hoppity"

My son asked me if I could do a newborn card using a dinasaur and I thought this sketch would be perfect.  I did the same fun fold as I did for Double Trouble Challenge #189 so I already had my pattern for this fun fold. The same patterned paper was used on the different fold cuts.

Stamped, colored, and adhered the adorable dinasaur for my main focal point with 3D thin foam tape. A couple sentiments were added bordered with a little baby. On the inside just added another dinasaur that I experimented with colors that I wasn't happy with, so added another color on the tummy to use as a daddy dinasaur... it worked.

Please hop on over and check out the TSOT Design Team members projects.

Then Please hop on over and join us at Double Trouble, have fun with our 3-2-1 Recipe "Hippity, Hoppity" and play along with our optional twist and dare while earning additional chances to our random draw. DTC Challenge #189 - 3-2-1 Recipe "Hippity, Hoppity"

This is my Design Team project for Double Trouble #189 using the 3-2-1 Recipe "Hippity, Hoppity" and combining it with our Sister Challenge, Try a Sketch on Tuesday (TSOT Sketch #668) which starts on Apr 15th... so this card will not be entered in TSOT challenge due to the backlinking rule but used as an example of combining the two challenges for interested participants.

Please hop on over and join us at Double Trouble, have fun with our 3-2-1 Recipe "Hippity, Hoppity" and play along with our optional twist and dare while earning additional chances to our random draw. Then hop on over and check out the TSOT Sketch Challenge, check out the Design Teams inspiration, and consider using their sketch with our 3-2-1 recipe.

The sketch reminded me of a fun fold card I've previously seen... so using a plain white sheet of paper and experimented with a couple cuts until I got the fold similar to the sketch. The plaid background cuts were a pretty close guess in regard to measurements; but I was happy with it.  Stamped, colored, and adhered the adorable chicks for my main focal point and added sentiments to the outside and inside of fold.

2024 Fall/Winter Coffee Lover's Blog Hop "Tis the Season to be Jolly"

DTC is participating with 2024 Coffee Lover's Fall/Winter Blog Hop and here is my Coffee themed card for Day 3.  The Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #601 was my inspiration for this card. Brentwood is one of my favorite coffee theme SVG files and I had several pre-printed, so I was able to do some fussy cutting and make layers for dimension (piecing) and adhering 3D thin foam tape behind each of the layers.

Deja-Brew!  Don't Miss Out!
It's time for our yearly participation (November 1-8) at the 2024 Fall/Winter Coffee Lover's Blog Hop (a non-seasonal coffee theme).  It's BEAN one of our favorite Blog Hops and if you've BEAN there before, this Blog Hop is ESPRESSO-ly meant for you.

Color Dare 618 Shades of Journey, Flamingo, Sage (09-13)

Here is my Design Team card for Color Dare "Shades of Journey, Flamingo and Sage" #618. Although I don't have any of these ink colors I was able to used some of the retired inks that were a very close match.

Using white cardstock the match of the Flamingo and Sage ink colors were blended and then Journey color match was used for the Mini Cell Theory stencil which brought in the many shades of each of the colors. The blended background was cut to A2 size and butterfly stamped in Journey. Another butterfly and sentiment were stamped on the left-over blended background.

Butterfly was fussy-cut and layered with thin foam tape to the A2 size panel for dimension. A Journey tag was cut for the sentiment and directly adhered to panel. Added Wink of Stella cleare glitter to the butterfly.

While the card does not have a lot of white space there are limited layers and no embellishments and maybe my interpretation of Clean and Simple.

Please hop on over and join us at Color Dare's Color Board #618 and check out the Design Teams inspiration, and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.

Happiness Comes in Waves - TSOT 652

Here is my DT card for Try a Sketch On Tuesday #652.  While looking through my stash chose a patterned paper with words on it and decided that was my  background, even though the sketch didn't call for a sentiment this was perfect for an any occasion note card.  Flipped the sketch to landscape because I wanted a full sentiment across the top of the card, bordered with a checkered design paper and adhered to the card base.

Zip strips from the paperpack were perfect for the three panels in the center... two outside strips were waves and the center seashells were adhered to background paper.

The focal point was white cardstock, bordered with the checkered pattern paper. The fish image was stamped, masked, stamped sea foliage in the background and colored with a variety of Copic Sketch pens. A second fish image was stamped, fussy-cut, colored, ahered with 3D thin foam tape on the original stamped focal point and then adhered with 3D thin foam tape on top of the zip strips.

On the inside a wave zip strip was added to the bottom border on the card base. Please hop over to Try A Sketch on Tuesday to see their Design Team members inspiration and let us see what you create... hope to see you there.

Color Dare 610 Six Pack "Hugs"

Here is my Design Team card for Color Dare #610 "Six Pack" using at least three of the colors (Flamingo, Peach, Lagoon + Sage) and combined these colors using the Try a Sketch on Tuesday #651, our Double Trouble sister challenge, rotating sketch left for portrait and using a Butterfly as my circle.  A sentiment was required for the sketch so I used letter stamps on the patterned paper for a vertical sentiment and layered with Mink cardstock.

This card started out with a stamped image on white cardstock and colored using Copic Sketch pens, along with a second stamped on white cardstock to use for dimensional piece for the left-side of the butterfly.

I wasn't happy with the match of colors so stamped another image on a patterned paper and layered with Mink cardstock. Fussy cut the layered butterfly left wing and the other florals. Stamped a partial image of the butterfly (floral side) on a Peach patterned paper to replace the colored florals I was not happy with. Some of the florals were adhered direct to the stamped image on the patterned papers and some were adhered with 3D thin foam tape.

On the inside left-over fussy-cuts of the floral were colored and adhered direct to bottom corner of the cardbase in colors

Double Trouble #170 partnering with Park Hopping, My Happy Place

This is my Design Team card for Double Trouble #170 "YOU-nique Technique" and partnering with Park Hopping, My Happy Place "July".  Thing 1 Trouble Maker wants you do use embossing "Dry or Heat" and/or stenciling on your project.

Thing 3 Twisted Sister wants you to consider using some water and/or theme park experience.  My initail thought was using a tube stamp I used several years ago for one of the water experiences; but I couldn't find my tube.  So my water experience went in the direction of Seaworld for the Orca (killer whale) experience.  If you want a splash of water to cool you off for the rest of the day sit in the first couple rows at the Orca experience.

Using Lagoon ink I blended the background with a wave stencil, then used a cracked glass embossing folder to give it dimension and bordered with Lagoon cardstock.  Stamped, colored and used dies to cut the whales and fishies. Stamped sentiment on white cardstock, bordered with Lagoon cardstock and added the little fishies with 3D thin foam tape.  The inside of the card, stamped the right-hand bottom of the card base with waves and fishies.

Please hop on over and join us at Double Trouble's "YOU-nique Technique" and check out the Design Teams inspiration, and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.

And add some fun and join Park Hopping, My Happy Place and include some water experience and earn additional chances to our random draw.
