Happy Birthday Card - Roses

This card was inspired by Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #96.  The PaperPak is CTMH "HeartStrings" which I used in the background, and the other side I used for the pedals of the rose.  The roses were a corner cut from the Cricut "Quarter Note" Cartridge, but I made modifications to the cut and used 3D Thin Foam Tape for dimension.   The ribbon was from my sewing drawer which I added as the scallop and put some red bling in the center of each daisy.  The sentiment was from the D1629 "Just to Say Cricut Collection" Stamp Set.  The card was distressed with Whisper.  Check out Atlantic Hearts for other unique cards submitted for this Challenge.

Pink - Happy Birthday

Can't get much more PINK....Feb 23, 2015 Heart to Heart Challenge is "...get your pink on!". CTMH "Brushed" PaperPak and the flowers from the Vellum Complements were used for the background.  It was a nice affect to see the background paper through the flowers, and I added Wink of Stella to the flowers but it doesn't show up well in the photo....

Thank You Note - Color Dare Diamond Winner

In viewing some other sketch challenges I ran across the Color My Heart Color Dare #130 which I thought was interesting and a challenge to come up with a card that didn't include a lot of color.  I used CTMH Daisy White and Whisper Cardstock for most of the card, except for the border which I used a darker grey cardstock that I pulled from my scraps....

St Patrick's Day Card - Froggie

This St Patrick's Day Card was created using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #95, and Feb 9th Heart to Heart Challenge "Favorite CTMH product" (which is everything).  I didn't have any stamp set that I could use for St Patrick's Day, so I used some free clipart I found on the internet,  modified them, colored with the CTMH ShinHan pens with variable colors, and then cut.  The background is a variety of CTMH cardstock and Adventure Paper Fundamentals.  And of course my most favorite CTMH product are enhancements which include the thin 3-D Foam Tape for giving the card a lot of dimension (see photo below), small Gold Sequins, liquid glass and some Gold Shimmer Trim.   Other enhancements are the washi tape along the edge of the background, but not a CTMH product.  I had a lot of fun making this card and hope you all enjoy it.  Don't forget to look at the other cards submitted for this challenge at Atlantic Hearts, and Heart to Heart's February challenges which you still have time to put your entries in.

Owl Valentine Card - Atlantic Hearts Challenge #94 Top 3 Winner

This card is my last Valentine Day Card for this year, and using Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #94 for the design.  The Stamp Set used was CTMH Owls Seasons & Nature for the Owls, Branches and Sentiment.  The little hearts on the branches were from another stamp set included with the Heartstrings Cardmaking Workshop.  The background is a variety of cardstock through CTMH.  Added Wink of Stella for some sparkle, along with liquid glass and glitter tape for enhancements.  And of course my favorite enhancement is the thin 3-D Foam Tape for giving the card a lot of dimension used on the branches.  Join us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and see the other interesting sketches, maybe you can be the next Top 3.

Giraffe Fun "Hip Hip Hooray" Birthday Card

This Card was made for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #93.  The CTMH paperpak used was Chalk It Up for the background.  Used the Cricut Explore to cut out the Giraffe from "Creative Memories - Stork's Delivery" cartridge which you will need the cartridge because it is not available on the Cricut Design Center or Craft Room.  Stamp Set Card Chatter-Birthday for the sentiment, and a retired stamp I just purchased Balloons Occasions.  And of course I like to add the liquid glass wherever I can, and a sparkling bowtie to dress up the giraffe.  Go to Atlantic Hearts to see other cards submitted and you still have a couple hours to enter one yourself.

Valentine's Day Postcards - Grand-daughter Made for Classmates

This was quite a challenge for an 8 1/2 year old (youngest Grand-daughter), but she worked very hard with me (Grandma) in putting these cards together, one for each of her classmates.  If you are reading this post, please go to the end of this post to see the 29 cards she made, and any comment to my Grand-daughter would be appreciated for a "job well done"

Her first challenge was to take the "Create a Critter" manual home, make a list of her classmates first name and pick out the critter or item from this cartridge which she felt  fit the personality of that classmate.  That was the easy part.  Through the help of Pinterest I was able to find a lot of the phrases that fit that particular critter or item, and for those that we didn't find we came up with a few clever ones ourselves.

Next was to plan out the postcard...thus many cricut cut hearts and then stamped, the frame for the phrases, and rounding all corners.  While my Grand-daughter was doing rounding corners, and pasting the frame and hearts on the postcard, I was cutting out many pieces from "Create A Critter" cartridge.  There were up to 3-4 pieces for each critter, using many different colors for one critter.  As each critter was completed she pasted them together.  She was getting ahead of me so I set her up for typing the To and From, and phrases while I patiently watched her.  After she completed a sheet I proofed the information and made the font changes for the phrase, cut the phrase and she rounded corners and pasted on the postcards.  As the critters were completed they were pasted to the right-side, along with adding some washi or glitter tape, or an item that fit that critter.

This process was going on all 3 days that we got together...she was tiring of this and when I asked her if she wanted to do this again next year "she was unsure".  I'm real proud of her accomplishment with this project and I know when she sees how much each classmate likes their card...who knows maybe this will be a project next year too.

Koala Valentine's Day Card - Atlantic Hearts Challenge 93 Top 3 Winner

I was consumed in helping my grand-daughter make valentine cards with Create a Critter, and decided to do one myself for my sister-in-law.  I saw the Cute Koala stamp set and decided to use that for a Valentine's Day Card and made it using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #93I extended the tree by masking to make it taller and used Foam Tape to pop out the Koalas.  The sentiment was from the Stamp Set included in the Heartstrings Cardmaking Kit, along with the paper Heartstrings, and heart and arrow puffies.  Go to Atlantic Hearts to see some of the other cards submitted for this challenge and join the challenge too.
