Beautiful Wishes - Color Dare Challenge #450 Inspiration Photo

This is my Design Team card For ColorMyHeart ColorDare "Inspiration Photo" Challenge #450. My colors were a blend of blues, greens, yellow and orange.

The inspirational photo reminded me of a peacock die purchased some time ago but never used. Peacock die was cut using white cardstock and then sponged using blues and greens. Using another piece of white cardstock sponged blues, greens, yellow, orange and then die cut many pieces of the various size feather strips and adhered the pieces on the peacock cut.

Undecided what to use for my background paper there was another die cut of just the feather itself... used it as a stencil and sponged several images in blue to appear as a doily.  Cut to size for A2 card base, framed with a layer of sapphire cardstock, adhhered the peacock and use the glitter pen on the full image of the peacock and it's feathers. Used the Misti to add my sentiment.

I had been disappointed in my photos in picking up the actual colors, dealing with uninvited shadows and spending a lot of time on getting a photo that was satisfactory.  Thought maybe another camera was due; but my daughter suggested before investing in another camera to get a Photo Light Box Kit... so she spent my money and ordered one for me. She also encouraged me to change over to square photos which I fought for a long time; but she showed me how easy it was and Walla!... done.

A few hints of photography from my daughter, several experimental tries with the light settings and many photos... I'm so pleased with my photos in this post and the glitter shows up, and no shadows.

For the inside of my card (photo below) I used the small cut left over from my stenciled background, layered with sapphire cardstock and adhered on the inside edge of the card.

Hugs - Double Trouble Challenge #87 partnering with TSOT Sketch #509

Here is my Design Team Card for Double Trouble Challeng #87 "It's Hip to Be Square" partnering with Try Stampin' on Tuesday's Sketch #512 with optional twist of "Embossing".

Spent more time on trying to think of something out of the box and still keep the sketch in tach.  However, once the paper was selected, it wasn't difficult to keep with the original sketch and also use the "embossing" twist.  To represent Trouble Maker's personality the square panels "It's Hip to Be Square" were used; but didn't want to hurt the feelings of Twisted Sister's personality used a circle embossing folder for "Cool and Groovy".  Chose the Dragonfly die, cut using the Sapphire rose-gold foiled cardstock to enhance the peach rose-gold foiled panel. Sentiment was also cut using Sapphire rose-gold foiled cardstock.

At Double Trouble Our Things 1, 2 and 3 sure bring on some wierd combinations but I like to challenge them all; however, you have the flexibility of doing just Thing 1 to create a theme "It's Hip to Be Square" to be eligible for our random draw.

For those that really like more of a challenge may want to include Twisted Sister's optional twist and choose to enter our partner's challenge... and you will be rewarded addtional chances at our random draw.

Just Fore You - ColorMyHeart Color Dare #448 Love Of Color

This is my Design Team card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #448 using Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch Challenge #509 and their optional theme "Masculine".

Purchased some pre-cut Fun Fold card bases from The Paper Cut and thought the "Outer Stair Step Card" would be perfect for the TSOT's sketch.  Somewhat out of the box but I think it shows a good interpretation of the sketch and the colors in the Color Dare challenge were excellent colors for a masculine card... all colors except for the Peach were used.

The golf bags were cut using three colors, layered and placed on the back two steps with a stitched border using sage cardstock the greens.  The golf cart was also cut using three colors, layered and placed on another stitched border using almond cardstock and embossed for a cart sand path. Two more cuts using the sage cardstock and stitched borders were cut to extend the grass across the card representing the panel in the sketch.  Another almond stitched border embossed for an extension of the cart sand path.  Finished card off with sentiments on the greens.

On Your Wedding Day - Double Trouble Challenge #86 "Let's Celebrate"

This is my Design Team card for Double Trouble Challenge #86 "Let's Celebrate" using our partner's Inspirational Photo If You Give a Crafter a Cookie #157 JuneThe colors were a good match with ColorMyHeart Color Dare #447 "TicTacToe" challenge.

The Butterfly Background die was selected as my cookie inspiration and some of the colors in the photo. The Color Dare Challenge had simlar colors in their TicTacToe (Row 2: Smoothie, Toffee, Mint + Sage and Sapphire). The Butterfly Background was cut using French Vanilla cardstock, colored using Copic brush pens which were the closest match to the Color Dare TicTacToe Board.  Another Butterfly from same background stamp was cut and used as a second layer for dimension.  The size of this background dies was a good match for a mini slimline... so the background panel was cut Mint cardstock with some space for a sentiment at the bottom. Added sentiment, added dots to center of white flowers, bitty sparkles to the butterfly and finished the card with "clear" Shimmer pen on the flowers, leaves and butterfly.

At Double Trouble Our Things 1, 2 and 3 sure bring on some wierd combinations but I like to challenge them all; however, you have the flexibility of doing just Thing 1 to create a theme "Let's Celebrate" to be eligible for our random draw.
