DTC #176 - S.A.E. - I'm Bacon You a Cake

Here is my Design Team card for Double Trouble #176 "SomeThing, AnyThing, EveryThing" (aka Anything Goes)... I love this challenge because it gives many challenges to hook up with some of our previous partners and do my own thing. And Twisted Sister loves to celebrate National Mud Pack Day and what a variable and fun twist to include in your anything goes project... piggies with or without mud OR Browns and Pink Colors OR use pigs and colors for additional chance at random draw.

I was torn between which Piggie stamp set would I use. However, when I went through my woodgrain papers the one chosen was the center of a 12 x 12 which gave the appearance of a circle which was one of the elements in the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #597 and that settled which piggie to use.

Experimented with a funfold card... but didn't like the unfinished look of the inside so converted to a standard A2 using the same panels for my background with some revamping.

Stamped piggie using black Memento Ink, fussy-cut, colored using Copic Markers with closest matches to Flamingo for the pink piggie, Bluebird, Jade and Honey Butter for the floral headpiece using the Color Dare Challenge #619. Sentiment stamped on white cardstock with border of black, Piggie and sentiment were adhered to background with 3D thin foam tape under snout and pig's feet for dimension.

On the inside card base, bottom right-hand corner, I'm Bacon You a Cake theme was stamped using cake, balloons  and a couple sentiments.

Please hop on over and join us at Double Trouble, have fun with our Something, AnyThing, EveryThing challenge. Play along with Twisted Sister's optional twist and pair up with some of our previous partners while earning additional chances to our random draw. Check out the Design Teams inspirations, and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.

And why not Try a Sketch on Tuesday, our sister challenge, as one of our previous partners for your project. Go to our Tab for other Previous Partners you may want to hook up with.

Color Dare 620 Must Use Mulberry & Sage +1 Color of Choice

Here is my Design Team card for Color Dare #620 combined with Sketch Saturday #760.  In my stash was a paperpack which had the two Must colors (Mulberry and Sage) and Periwinkle which I used as a very close match to Wisteria. I was very selective with the background paper in positioning one of the larger flowers to the top of the sketch.

The background selection was an easy choice; but finding a die for the chevron panel cut puzzled me a bit... I needed a pattern.  So, printed the sketch in A2 size and cut out the larger panel for a close match to the chevron pattern in the sketch. Selected another patterned paper for the larger chevron and then pieced the smaller chevron with a zip strip... I thought perfection to the sketch.

Instead of a circle the dancing butterfly die was cut using Mulberry for the shadow and another pattered paper to adhere loosely over the shadow.

No sentiment was added but my thought was Sweet Memories on the patterened paper could be fitting for a sympathy and/or any occasion card using the inside for a personalized note relative to occasion.  On the inside right-hand border of card base adhered the same chevron patterns from front of card.

DTC #175 "National Punch Day" with TSOT 655 (09/16)

This is my Design Team project Double Trouble Challenge #175 "Any Way You Punch It" celebrating National Punch Day and partnering with Try a Stamp On Tuesday Sketch Challenge #655 using the Color Dare's Board #617.

Thing 1 Trouble Maker wants you to pore your favorite punch in a spill-proof container and then go through your stash and select at least one punch and/or die for your project.  Die-namically this sketch has a lot going on... you can become die-lirious in the variety of die-liciousness found in your stash.

Thing 3 Twisted Sister recognizes that our partner's sketch is perfect for die cuts and if you use their sketch you are eligible to join our Sister Challenge at TSOT.

To complete the inside of my card leftover floral die cuts were adhered on the right-hand bottom corner.

Please hop on over and join us at Double Trouble, have fun with our challenge requirement and play along with optional twists to be eligible to enter your project in our partner's challenge at Color Dare while earning additional chances to our random drawing.

Check out the Design Teams inspirations on both challenges and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.

Color Dare 618 Shades of Journey, Flamingo, Sage (09-13)

Here is my Design Team card for Color Dare "Shades of Journey, Flamingo and Sage" #618. Although I don't have any of these ink colors I was able to used some of the retired inks that were a very close match.

Using white cardstock the match of the Flamingo and Sage ink colors were blended and then Journey color match was used for the Mini Cell Theory stencil which brought in the many shades of each of the colors. The blended background was cut to A2 size and butterfly stamped in Journey. Another butterfly and sentiment were stamped on the left-over blended background.

Butterfly was fussy-cut and layered with thin foam tape to the A2 size panel for dimension. A Journey tag was cut for the sentiment and directly adhered to panel. Added Wink of Stella cleare glitter to the butterfly.

While the card does not have a lot of white space there are limited layers and no embellishments and maybe my interpretation of Clean and Simple.

Hello Autumn - Try a Sketch On Tuesday #654

Here is my Design Team card for Try a Sketch On Tuesday #654

The embellishment shouted out to me a fall card... now that doesn't mean you have to do a fall card. The oval was perfect for tall birch trees and colorful leaves falling. The first stencil (tree trunks) was placed on white cardstock and brush blended using fall colors for the background and rather than splattering color I used an element stamp, to simulate leaves falling. Removed the tree trunk stencil and positioned the second stencil (bark) and blended with brown ink. When stenciling was completed die cut my scene using a crooked edged frame and bordered it with brown cardstock by fussy-cutting around the frame.

I changed the sketch to protrait because the Oval was too big for the landscape sketch. Found a orange patterned paper with leaves similar to a birch leave and bordered it with Mocha cardstock.

Cut many pieces of foliage in different fall colors and a flower for the embellishment next to the oval.  Found the perfect colored patterned paper on my desk just by chance, for the small panel behind the oval and a Sentiment sticker in the paperpack and bordered each with Mocha cardstock. Almost forgot the embellishments in the corners so went back to my stash and found some orange Dots.

Please hop on over and join us at Try a Sketch on Tuesday and check out the Design Teams inspiration, and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.
