Sorry I'm So Slow - Color Dare #355

This is my Design Team card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare Challenge #355 using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #328. This was made for my Grand-daughter's 13th Birthday...she loves sloths and when I saw this stamp set it was an immediate purchase.  The goldrush leaf design paper was perfect background for the sloth hanging from the tree branch and the die cut leaf border was perfect for the scalloped edge and was complemented by the green polka-dot design paper.

The sloth was stamped, cut by the Brother Scan and Cut, colored using Copic Sketch alcohol-based brush pens colors closest to the CTMH colors, adhered with 3D thin foam tape and liquid glass was added to the eyes.  Sentiment was stamped with Espresso ink and NuVo drops placed randomly around the sentiment.

Another stamp of a sloth was colored and added to the inside right-hand corner of the card and room left for a personal note.

Please visit each of these challenges to see DT members' inspiration, along with other participants that have entered these challenges and maybe you can combine these challenges too.

Don't Forget:  Color Dare challenges are carried forward for two weeks, so please join us and also check out our previous Challenge #354 - Closes Aug 15th.

Happy Birthday To You - H2H W3 "Ribbon"

This is my Design Team project for Heart2Heart Product Challenge "Ribbon" using a design found on Pinterest  by Stacy Cohen, but errored to site.  So, I pulled out some Adhesive Ribbon bought a couple years ago and chose three colors and designs that went well together, cut several 2 1/2" strips and adhered them to the center of the cardstock.  Cut two pieces, 1 1/4" and 1 1/2", border dies and adhered to the ribbon cardstock with 3D thin Foam tape.  Cut three sentiments, two colors, and layered and adhered to the the bottom of the card.  Placed some sequins and done...not a difficult card to make and a very pretty card with the right choices.

Added a border of one of the ribbons across the bottom of the inside of the card.

Hop on by this week's Heart2Heart theme to see inspirations from Design Team members. Heart2Heart invites you to showcase your favorite project...you have until the end of the month to create and submit. Earn a Perfect Attendance Badge if you create a card for each weekly theme during that month...to view these challenges they are listed on the sidebar at the top of the Blog.

Let's Party - Heart2Heart - Sept Week 1 South of the Border

This is my Design Team Card for Heart2Heart "South of the Border". My daughter had gotten this adorable Hero Arts Fiesta stamp set for Mother's Day and this theme was  perfect.  The stamp set also came with a beautiful frame die and all the dies for each stamp.  It wasn't until I did all the fussy-cutting and realized I had the dies; however, I'm actually very pleased with it because I could cut closer to the outlines of the images.

The focal point was made using two stamps (Dancer and Musician) and masking them to give them dimension.  Colored with a variety of Copic sketch alcohol-based pens, fussy-cut, layered with poppy cardstock and adhered with thin foam sheet between the focal point and the background paper. Framed the background paper with poppy cardstock and then decided to decorate the edge with one of my rectangular dies.

There are so many pieces to this set and it was difficult to choose which adorable image I would use...the Mexican birdie was adorable, so just colored with same colors and set him on top of the "Let's Party" Sentiment.  Added some glitter flowers around the sentiment and upper left-hand corner using small gems for the center and a few scattered around.

Inside of card used another one of the stamps in the same set, stamped a banner, colored and adhered to the border on the inside of the card.

Close up views of the masking and coloring of the Mexican dancers, musician and Birdie, along with random placing of the glittery flowers and gems.

Happy Birthday - Double Dare #8

This is my DT card for Double Trouble Challenge #8 "Summer Birthday" celebrations with a lot of glitter for our Twisted Sister. For the next two weeks we are partnering with Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge.  This is a fold card sketch that one of our Crop friend's shared with our group and thought it would be a challenge to make this card using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #278...and I think it worked.

We lost track of time and Twisted Sister let it be known that we forgot her birthday. Well, in our defense we didn't forget...we just wanted to surprise her with a mile-high cake and many glitter cards with the help of our followers from Double Trouble. Please help us get back in good graces with her because our birthdays are coming up in December.

And if you want to get on the good side with Twisted Sister add some glitter to your project...she will give you an extra chance for our random draw prize.  And wish her a Happy Birthday in the comments and another chance.  And share with Pause Dream Enjoy and yet another chance.

Hello - Color Dare #240 (Cinco de Mayo)

Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge #240: This week’s colors shown in the Photo are from Some Kinda Wonderful Paper Pack - Glacier, Lemon, Pacifica, Raspberry, Whisper, Willow, White Daisy and Black (Use at least 4 of these colors).  Love all the colors and the design papers so not a difficult color challenge if you have the paper pack.

We encourage you to use CTMH products; however you may use any products to participate using closest to colors or paper packet ... join in the fun.

You don't need a blog to submit your entry...if you are a member of Pinterest you can set up a Folder and link your entry to our Challenge. You have until Thursday, April 27th to enter your project. Please hop on by to see the DT member inspirations and other entrants.

If you do share a Some Kinda Wonderful project with us you may also share it in these two other Close to My Heart themed challenges:

The paper I liked the least in this paper pack has turned out to be one of my favorites...first a theatre, then the colorful stamped flowers, and now an Arizona Cactus Bed with Quail. And I've had suggestions that the design looks like popsicles and tombstones...so you'll know what's next.

Started out selecting a PML card from the packet and tried to work around just that....but that crazy design paper was calling to me...so I cut around several of the colored cacti and adhered it to one of the other design papers.  Decided to cut the Hello PML card and adhered to the corner...that was going to be my finished card.

I've been wanting to use the quail stamp as well...so I dug out the grey ones that I had made for another card (because that's the color of quail, plain ole grey).  Well they looked kinda boring, so back to my daughter's advice on paper crafting..."There are no rules, you can do whatever you want in paper crafting".  Soooo...stamped a family in pacifica ink and started coloring with the many pretty colors in the paper pack.

Then I got to thinking about the cactus again and decided to stamp three cacti and then put faces on them.  Cinco de Mayo is coming up soon, which is a big celebration here in Arizona, so I put a Mexican hat on the one, but couldn't stop there.  Stamped a couple of flowers, colored and then put on the two other cactus.

Around this time of year we have a family of Quail that nest in our back yard, or you can see them walk across the golfing greens as mother strides along slowly, but the little ones feet go a mile a minute to keep up. They have 8-10 babies following them.

On the inside added a die-cut cactus that I had in my stash and another Mexican Hat, and left the sentiment inside open to any occasion "Party-Cinco de Mayo" but I will be using for a May 5th "Birthday Card".
