Celebrate - Color Dare #345

This is my DT project for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #345 "TicTacToe" (3rd Column Sage, Mint, Sugarplum + Canary and Ballerina) combined with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #318 and theme at Heart2Heart "Minty Fresh".  Please visit each of these challenges to see DT members' inspiration, along with other participants that have entered these challenges and maybe you can combine these challenges too.

My decision for the row selected was based on the theme "Minty Fresh" and the 3rd column on the TicTacToe color palette appealed to me because of the soft colors, and added Ballerina and Canary to my selection.  Used the Mint on my background as the primary color which had Canary in the center of the white flowers.  Using Ballerina cardstock the strip behind the ovals were die cut with a decorative border die on both sides and adhered on background paper.

All other pieces were die cut - two scalloped ovals using Mint and Sugarplum cardstock, another oval for sentiment, sentiment stamped and all layered and adhered on background.  The flowers were layered with 3D thin foam dots, adhered on background and then the leaves and center of flowers added.

Hogs & Kisses - Color Dare #344

Here is my DT card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #344 Inspiration Board.  Rather than going with the theme for this color challenge decided to just use the colors in the Inspiration Board.

Stamped the Hedgehog, colored with a variety of Copic Sketch Brush pens, and then fussy-cut both hedgehogs.  A scalloped doily was placed on the background paper and then adhered the hedgehogs using foam tape for dimension.  Often when I do critters I check out the "Punny" stamps from CTMH for the sentiment...this one fit hedgehogs even though it was intended for hogs (pigs) as intended.  Stamped the sentiment on a stitched heart speech bubble, layered with cranberry for the die cut heart in the bubble.

FUN FACT: The hair on the back of a hedgehog is a thick layer of spikes (or modified hairs) known as quills. These quills are made of keratin, the same stuff our hair and fingernails are made of.  And hope my fussy-cutting shows the layer of spikes.

Double Trouble Challenge #29 - National Brown Bag-It Day "You're Sweet"

This is my Design Team card for Double Trouble Challenge #29 National Brown Bag-It Day (using kraft paper) and partnering with Try Stampin' on Tuesday using their Sketch Challenge #409 and using Twisted Sister's optional twist for National Pick Strawberry Day "include a strawberry".  Cut strips for the borders and used stitched border designs in each strip.  The image was colored with a variety of Copic Sketch alcohol-based bush pens, fussy-cut partially outside of the circle and adhered with foam tape.  The sentiment and embellishments were die-cut, layered and adhered with foam tape for dimension.

Looking for fun challenges?  Join us at Double Trouble HERE and see our DT inspirations along with other entrants for this current challenge.  This challenge is open until Sunday, June 2nd, 11pm MTN...we would love to see what inspired you.

"Brown Bag-It Day"

THING 1: Trouble Maker
says, "In celebration of National Brown Bag-It Day, I've asked the Unknown Comic from the late Gong Show to inspire our challenge. Use Kraft paper, even a paper bag for your project."

Don't get the Gong, come play aLong!

Don't stop here...for more fun check out the optional Sketch challenge below.

THING 2: Double Dare
says, "What a great sketch to use for Kraft as an accent in your design, so many choices of what panel(s) to use."

It's Optional...if you use this sketch you can also submit to Try Stamping on Tuesday Challenge #409 between the dates of May 20th - June 2nd. Link your project HERE and you will receive an additional chance at the Double Trouble Random Draw.

Use the DT cards below for ideas or use your own interpretation of the sketch. Feel free to change the orientation... rotate the sketch or use its mirror image. You may also modify shapes as long as we can see the basic sketch in your project.

THING 3: Twisted Sister
says, "In my opinion I've been berry, berry good. Celebrate National Pick Strawberry Day with me and include strawberry(s) in your project and you can earn an additional chance at our random draw".

This is an optional twist; however, this sketch offers a perfect opportunity to use strawberry(s) as an embellishment or focal point.

Color Dare #343 - Wishing You The Best

This is my DT project for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #343 "Love of Color" and using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #316.

My color choices were Sugarplum, Sage, Linen and Sapphire and pulled in silver/grey pearl embellishments.  I live in Arizona and love cactus...this die set jumped out at me to use as my focal point for the circle. Cactus are all in bloom this time of year and most flowers last only 1-3 days depending upon the kind of cactus.

Coffee Isn't a Drink - It's a Cup of Sanity

This is my Day 8 - 2nd PM Card
Thank you Amy, Design Team for your inspiration, work and dedication for another amazing and awesome Coffee Lover's BlogHop and providing such an overwhelming array of some 80 Super Sponsors in support of your BlogHop.  This is my final card for the BlogHop, and already anxious for the Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers BlogHop.  Thanks again for all your hard work in coordinating this fun BlogHop.

Another card made from the The Daily Grind paperpack with the floral design paper.  This paper reminded me there was a Paper Smooches Floral that was similar to the flowers on the design paper.  Several die cuts were made in different colors and then pieced together on the floral design paper with layering.  Used another PML card that had a great sentiment and a cup with the same floral and layered it on another design paper because the floral for the full background was too busy.

Please visit each of these challenges for inspiration and play along with us.

Last day to join us at 2019 Spring/Summer Coffee Lover's BlogHop. All that's required is a Spring/Summer project to include a Coffee, Tea and/or Hot Chocolate image or sentiment theme … how simple is that.  All products are acceptable.  There are no limits to the number of entries and the more entries the better your chances for winning Coffee Lover's random-draw prizes from their many SUPER Sponsors! Please hop on by...thank the sponsors, join in the fun and link your project any time between Friday, May 3rd to Friday, May 10th.

The project that you just created for the Coffee Lover's can also be entered into the following challenges, but make sure your project follow their rules.

Double Trouble Challenge #28 "Spring/Summer" project with an Optional Twist to include "A Favorite Drink".  Any products are acceptable.  There is a limit of four entries. This Challenge will be open until May 19th and eligibility for Blog extends to the end of this challenge.

BLOG CANDY:  In addition to the Challenge's random draw prize, we have additional prizes (aka Blog Candy).  Eligibility for Blog Candy is:  1) enter your Spring Summer project at Double Trouble Challenge #28 and 2) make a comment  in Double Trouble's post and tell us "Your favorite Spring/Summer Drink".  Click on Double Trouble Link above for additional detail and Blog Candy awarded.

Double Trouble is partnering with Three Amigos BlogHop Challenge #26 "Food/Drink", and your project can be entered in their Challenge too.  There are no limits to the number of entries and you can use any products and they have a random draw prize.  This challenge will be open for the month of May.
