TSOT Sketch #696 with DTC Challenge #217 3-2-1 Recipe "DTC 8th Anniversary - Raffle Event"

Here is my card for Try a Sketch on Tuesday #696. I chose to celebrate and join up with our sister challenge, Double Trouble, for their 8th Anniversary Raffle. I gave the brown bag a shake and pulled out a Blue ticket... a masculine card.

I liked Twisted Sister's optional twist to include Kraft or Kraft-like element because it's perfect to use for a masculine card. I chose a Kraft-like product (corregated cardstock), bordered with black cardstock and adhered to the cardbase.

Click HERE to see my DT card for Double Trouble... my Pink raffle ticket for a birthday card using the TSOT Sketch #696 for inspiration and a very close interpretation of the sketch.

Now for my DT project I was a little puzzled in what to do using the same sketch... hey, what a great idea, a puzzle. Taking Cricut for the second day out of hiding, I cut the puzzle pieces and then stamped and stamped and stamped images using black Memento ink. One stamp I particularly liked was the bee, why? Bee-cause they were so cute and had it out on my desk.. See if you can find them on the puzzle pieces.

Hop on over and join us at Try a Sketch On Tuesday and  check out the Design Teams inspiration, and you may want to consider using their sketch for Double Trouble's raffle themed project. I don't know what I was thinking; I was puzzled... hey that a great idea for my card.

Would love you to hop on over to Double Trouble's 8th Anniversary, grab a raffle ticket and play along with Twisted Sister and Double Dare optional twists to earn additional chances to their random draw. Combine both DTC and TSOT and let's see what you create... hope to see you there.

Happy Birthday - CD #548 "Only Two"

This is my Design Team card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #542 "Two Only".  Pewter is a Must Use and my choice of the second color is Peach. Stamped and die cut the Elephant on both the light and dark side of Pewter cardstock, fussy-cut the Lighter elephant, cut around the ear to prop with 3D foam tape and adhered to the darker side for shadow.  Stamped and die cut the four balloons in Pewter Ink on Peach Cardstock and adhered with 3D foam tape randomly on the background  and die cut.

For the inside of the card, I stamped some balloons along the right-hand side border.

Please hop on over and join us at ColorMyHeart Color Dare and check out the Design Teams inspiration, and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.

Happy Birthday Fun Fold - Double Trouble Challenge #117

This is my Design Team Card for Double Trouble Challenge #117 "Gimme S'more". In other words Trouble Makes says, "Let's add S'more stuff. We want to see lots of deliciousness such as extra layers, frames, die cuts, flowers, other images, etc., it's your choice.  Twisted Sister's optional twist was to "Make a Fun Fold" and share with our partner Creative Creases #37 "Anything Goes - Fun Fold"

The ColorMyHeart Color Dare Challenge #506 "Inspiration Photo" has delicious colors so my decision of colors was based on the inspiration photo.  Twisted Sister says, "It's the perfect time for my optional twist... create a Fun Fold project using all your deliciousness."  Here is what I created using our Sneetch Alyson's tutorial on "Double Side Step Card" in her Album "Fancy Fold - Medium" (See Additional information at the end of my post for information on additional fancy folds.

The Tutorial and Instruction Sheets from Alyson's page were definitely needed and very thorough... I followed deligently and added some perks too... pop up images on inside and 1/8" mats.  My only problem was I don't have a cutter combined with a score blade...  but tempted to get one now.

Double Trouble Challenge #96 "Tall Card" partnering with Ellibelle's Crafty Challenge

I was gifted Miss Ink's "Slim's Whims" stamp set of my Grand-FurBaby (Slim) by his Mom and my daughter, Lisa Bzibziak (aka BZScrapper66.blogspot.com).  The coloring was so important to me... so I cheated and went to Lisa's blog for her first post introducing Slim and used her photos and choice of colors.  And here is my completed portrait  using "Slim's Whim".

This was such a fun card created for our Double Trouble Challenge #96 "Tall Card and Thin Cuts" (aka dies).  Twisted Sister's optional twist was to use items that started with "T".  Double Dare says if you have met Thing 1's requirement don't forget to enter your card  at Ellibelle's Corner Crafty Challenge.

My friend/neighbor, Melanie, had a layering stencil from Tim Holtz which is a Tangled and Twisted Scribble Stencil. So nice to have a friend and nextdoor neighbor to crop and share Things. On white cardstock I sponged with, of course, Turquoise. Using a Thin Diea stitched frame, I cut the sponged background, adhered a layer of black cardstock and then adhered to the white card base.

I wanted a lot of dimension to the card... started out with three stamped images of Slim, colored with Copic Sketch brush pens, fussy-cut separately the full body,  his head, his muzzle and layered with 3D thin foam tape between each layer.

Stamped two cups with paws.  Personally colored in a Turquoise Tartan Plaid on the Tea Cup and fussy-cut the full stamped image. Only the paws were colored on the other stamp, fussy-cut and then layered with 3D Thin foam Tape between them.  Stamped a Tea Bag in Turquoise with a small sentiment, slit the cup a bit to add on the edge of the Tea Cup and adhered with 3D Thin foam Tape.

The Tie stamped and colored same as the tea cup, fussy-cut and adhered with 3D Thin foam Tape.  The glasses were stamped, colored, fussy-cut and adhered with 3D Thin foam Tape.  The last dimension added was liquid glass on his nose and nails.  Layered a "Hugs" Thin die cut using White cardstock to hide among the Tangled and Twisted background and got the effect wanted.

Twisted Sister's Optional Twist:  My "T" Mix-ins for this twist were Color Turquoise, Tea, Tea Cup and Tea Bag, Tie (Bow), Tangled and Twisted Background, Tartan Plaid on Cup and Tie and Thin Foam Tape.  Let's tee what "T's" you come up with.

On the inside I used the same stencil on the corner and stamped another sentiment. The photo below was an attempt to see the dimension of Slim; but it didn't really do it justice like it does in person.

My last venture was to show Slim my card to get his approval.  My daughter took several photos but he insisted on looking away except for this one.  Makes me wonder, was he happy with it?  Yes he was... he pulled back his ears and consoled me that he just wanted to show off his colors from all angles and let me know he loved the card.

Sending Smiles - Double Trouble Challenge #67 "Off/On/Over the Edge"

This is my Design Team card for Double Trouble Challenge "Off/On/Over the Edge" using Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch #476.  The sketch itself shows how you can simply use a doily off the edge or partial stamp on the off the edge circle.  But, I decided to use one of Jennifer McQuire's tutorials veering away from my comfort zone and create something off the edge using stamps and dies.

Off the Edge Die Cutting
Partial Die Cutting
Off the Edge Stamping

Using this Sketch, Feel free to change the orientation... rotate or flip the sketch or use its mirror image.

Many of my cards are done with lots of layers for dimension; but decided to keep my design simple and use stamps directly on the card base using different inks and pens to pull it all together. This card took me longer to create than throwing a lot of layers together; but I was happy with the result... but don't know how soon I will create another one layer CAS card.

Time was taken for cutting out images for masking, coloring and trying to keep within the sketch layout.  Thought I was done until I brought out my clear Wink of Stella.  A design sheet was added to the inside of the card

You're the Best - ColorMyHeart Color Dare #400 Celebration

Here is my Design Team card for our ColorMyHeart Color Dare Celebration Challenge #400. Join us for this challenge and you will be eligible for our random draw prizes.

My card was combined with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #374 and what a great sketch for displaying several of the design papers from CTMH Every Little Thing which included the colors "green, purple and blue", an easy choice to bring these colors together.

Cut a sapphire panel for the backing of the three design papers leaving a peek of the sapphire cardstock between each one.  The fourth design paper were small flowers were fussy-cut and placed near the center with 3D foam tape for dimension.  Found a small banner die in my stash, cut, stamped an all occasion sentiment and added a Sapphire edge to the sentiment.

Please pop over to ColorMyHeart Color Dare and see DT members' inspiration, along with other participants that have entered this challenge.

We have reached another milestone since our first Color Dare Challenge in May of 2012. Trivia: Unbeknownst when we set up our Celebration Challenge 400, our very first challenge was Purple, and our Celebration Challenge has purple as one of the colors.

It would be interesting to know when you entered your first Color Dare Challenge. A prize will be awarded to the entrant with the oldest challenge date... so don't keep us guessing, identify the challenge number or date in your post.  There will be other random draw prizes awarded to all entries to this challenge.

My first entry:  Color Dare Challenge #130 February of 2015. I was awarded the Diamond Badge, which I was real proud of even though there were only three entries for that challenge.  This inspired me to do the weekly Color Dare challenges until I was asked to be a Design Team member in January 2016 Color Dare Challenge #175.

Color My Heart Color Dare challenges are carried forward for two weeks so if you didn't share your project the first week you still have another week to enter that challenge...current challenges are on the side bar of the blog.
