You're So Tweet - Color Dare #476

This is my Design Team card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #476 "Soft & Pastel Colors".

When I was verifying the information for our previous Bright & Bold Colors" post I realized that both of these challenges were opening the same day so our Design Team gets off a couple weeks for the Holidays.  So, here I am 11 p.m. in the evening making a card for this challenge.  If you prefer "Bright & Bold" Colors, make sure you check our Side Bar for Challenge #475, running simultaneously with our "Soft & Pastel Colors.

Just received my "Candid Moments" Card Kit today, had to use this adorable stamp, and what better stamp to use for pastels.  I'm not comfortable with Copic pens for pastels or water coloring so I got out my buried colored pencils and picked many of the colors I saw in the Inspiration Board and colored away.

I'll usually find a sketch to combine with our Color Challenge but one of the card sample sketches was perfect other than to replace some design papers because there were additional colors in the design papers in the Card Kit.  At 12:30 a.m. I was ready for bed so completed my post this morning.

Color Dare challenges are carried forward for two weeks so if you didn't share a project for this Inspiration Photo challenge you still have another week to enter.

Both challenges are on the side bar of the Color My Heart Color Dare challenge blog. Please check out Design Team Cards and other entrants to give you inspiration and join us for future fun color challenges.

Santa Clause is Coming to Town Pop-Up Card - Color Dare #474 "Fancy 5"

Here is my Design Team card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #474 "Fancy Five". Going through my stash found a die, not yet used, a town house pop-up that could be used for a Christmas card using the color board below in non-traditional colors.  The pop-up included all the pieces needed to create a small town so the inside of my card was completed first and using instructions here.

Cut a piece of design paper in avocado for the backdrop of my colorful town using all but Flamingo from the Color Board.  After pop-up assembled used extra house cuts in each side of the pop-up town.

Had no idea what I was going to use for the front of the card until my childhood imagination told me that "Santa Clause is Comin' to Town".  I didn't have the music sheet but the Internet did.  Modified to fit my card, added the song title using closest to Papaja color, printed and adhered to the Avocado cardstock.  Cut three dies of Santa and his reindeer using Harbour cardstock.  Adhered one directly to the music sheet and layered the other two. Cut off sleigh and placed between the deers already adhered on the music sheet using 3D thin foam tape for dimension.

Other photos taken at a slight angle to show the dimension.

Double Trouble Challenge #99 "It's Up to You" - 12/5 "Bath Party Day"

This is my Design Team Card for Double Trouble Challenge #99 "It's Up to You" to decide the special event or theme for your project.  My Christmas cards aren't done; so I was looking for inspiration at Days of December Calendar for holiday inspiration and to see other events and/or some bizarre and wacky days.

Linking to the calendar I immediately stopped at my Birth date, December 5 "Bathtub Party Day". WOW, wonder what that's all about.  So... before walking away from your event date, make sure you click on the link to determine if this is the event you want to celebrate.  After reading the celebration below my decision was to make a birthday card for myself.

CELEBRATE December 5 "Bathtub Party Day" today: Draw yourself a bath tub full of warm water. Add a few bath oil beads, and Voila! You're ready to hop in and "soak it" in the bathtub. Ahh, how soothing and relaxing! Don't let anything disturb the peace, quiet, and serenity of your bath. Turn off your cell phone. Put on your favorite CDs to a volume where you can't hear the doorbell ring.

Who would have thought there was a bathtub stamp... went to my newer stash and wallah... a perfect stamp "Believe in Magic".  The Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch #535 would work well for Twisted Sister's optional ywist to include a number and/or calendar on your project. Now to put all the pieces together.

ColorMyHeart Color Dare #473 "TicTacToe" palette was used and images were colored with a variety of Copic brush pens for closest match to CTMH colors.  Images were fussy cut, layered and adhered with 3D thin foam tape to a pretty design sheet from Wonderland paperpack layered with Rosemary cardstock. Used several punches for the different size circles in the upper right-hand corner and the larger was the invite to my Birthday celebration and the two smaller circles with the month and day numbers. Party's still going on!

Join us at Double Trouble Challenge #99 "It's Up to You"

Thing 1In December there are holidays, special events, and even bizarre and wacky days. We have decided for this challenge the special event or theme is up to you.

Thing 3: Optional Twist: Use any number(s) related to age, a special day, a year, or maybe include a calendar on your project."

Thing 2:  We are happy to partner with The Paper Funday Challenge for the full month of December plus two days.
