I'm Stuck on You - Color Dare #592 TicTacToe

This is my Design Team project for ColorMyHeart Color Dare # 592 "TicTacToe" using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #568.  My choice was Row 1 Sage, Papaya and Sundance because these are the colors of Spring in Arizona and the sketch was perfect for my cactus and sun.

Stuck pretty much with the sketch except moving the sentiment down a smidgen. Using a mini slimline many dies and patterned papers were cut instead of coloring. CAS and exactly what I wanted.

The inside of card base was lined with the same patterned papers along the right border to finish off my card.

Please hop on over and join us at Color Dare's Color Board #592 and check out the Design Teams inspiration, and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.

DTC Challenge #153 "Recipe to a Happy Harvest" and 152 "DeJa-BREW" Day 6

Join us at Double Trouble Challenge #152 and hop on by and enjoy the CRAFTEINATING inspiration by our Design Team and entrants. DTC is participating with 2023 Coffee Lover's Fall/Winter Blog Hop and here is another Coffee themed card for Day 6.

This is another project for Double Trouble Challenge #153 "Recipe to a Happy Harvest" which includes at least 3 patterned papers, 2 embellishments and 1 Fall or Harvest Item.  Twisted Sister's optional twist is to consider using Try Stampin' On Tuesday Sketch #632 and add a sentiment.

When I saw the colorful striped patterned paper in the CTMH Gnome Autumn paperpack it was perfect to stamp my turkey which wouldn't require coloring.  Using pumpkin cardstock cut a to-go-cup die, stamped sentiment, layered with thin black border and adhered in place of the stamped sign from original turkey stamp. For more dimension the feathers were cut from turkey and adhere with more foam tape on the tip of the feathers.

I must have cut two or sometimes three of the same panel size in each of the patterns in the Gnome paperpack, added a thin layer for each with pumpkin cardstock. Tried so many combinations of my pre-cut/layered patterns but it wasn't until I revisited some of the Mix-in patterns and found a pattern paper in Honey Butter, using both sides, and it was my perfect combination for my striped turkey.  Masked a couple corn cobs, colored with Copic brush pens and added to the bottom corner of my turkey panel.  Adhered two yellow dots as the embellishments required in the "3-2-1 Recipe for a Happy Harvest".

On the inside of the card added some patterned paper to the the right-hand side border.

This photo also shows the piecing, cutting and dimension of the Turkey image.

I'm laughing now because it probably took me longer contemplating what papers to use with a striped turkey and probably coloring it would have been much faster. However, I already have my papers cut and can set up another paper combination for a second card (See here).

Please hop on over and join us at Double Trouble 3-2-1 Recipe, check out the Design Teams inspiration and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there. You may also like to hop over to Try Stampin' on Tuesday, check out their Design Team members inspiration and see how easy it might be to combine these two challenges.

There is still (3) days to join our Double Trouble "DeJa-BREW" with a coffee themed project and win another chance at our random draw if you have entered your coffee themed project at the Coffee Lover's Blog Hop... and add a funny pun on your project for another chance.

All our Team Members at Double Trouble have BLOG CANDY!  We hope you'll visit each member's individual blog, view the prize, and leave a comment - BUT - this will not qualify you for the prizes. After viewing each individual blog, go back to the Double Trouble Blog and leave a comment. From those comments, we will randomly select the names of Blog Candy recipients. DTC Challenge #153B "Recipe to a Happy Harvest" - Card 2 Happy Harvest

This is my Design Team project for Double Trouble Challenge #153 "Recipe to a Happy Harvest" which includes at least 3 patterned papers, 2 embellishments and 1 Fall or Harvest Item. Twisted Sister's optional twist is to consider using Try Stampin' On Tuesday Sketch #632 and add a sentiment for another chance at the random drawing.

When making another card for this challenge, I set it aside for a future date.  I had many additional pre-cut/layered patterns from the Gnome paperpack which I was able to put together for a second card. Chose three of the patterned papers but this time chose a Cornucopia image for my Recipe.

Colored my image with Copic Sketch brushes using a variety of colors to match the colors in the paperpack, rectangle sized with part of the image fussy-cut and then layered with pumpkin cardstock.  Sentiment was stamped below the image on the larger panel and two green dots were added in the upper r-h corner to finish my "Recipe".

On the inside of the card added some patterned paper to the the right-hand side border.

I'm not laughing now because I got two cards out of my decision to use a striped turkey in my first card (see here).

Please hop on over and join us at Double Trouble, check out the Design Teams inspiration and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there. Just Another Day - Birthday Card

Here is a card I made for our son-in-law, who says he's just doesn't want us to celebrate his birthday because it's "Just Another Day"; but mother and father in law are not listening.  After all... each year we celebrate his birthday, it's another birthday together.  Now, how is a non-celebration birthday card created and still be celebrated.  This is how it was accomplished... while putting a new stamp in my inventory the sentiment on CTMH Cape Code-Cardmaking stamp was my inspiration to create the front of the card but use the sentiment for the inside.

Thus... created a belated birthday card I thought our son-in-law would appreciate using his phrase as the sentiment and three different vendor dies using the plaid from "Celebrating You" CTMH paperpack for the birth date.  The birth date die cuts were adhered to the background on a coordinating paper from same packet, bordered with Lemon cardstock and adhered with 3D thin foam tape for dimension.  The sentiment was typed on Word, printed, edged with Lagoon, bordered with Lemon cardstock and adhered to card with 3D thin foam tape.

The sentiment that was my inspiration was used for the inside of the card... The "But & Another Number" sentiment was also typed on Word, printed, cut and adhered direct inside card base.  The "happy  55" was die cut using same background paper with a second set in Lemon cardstock as a shadow and finished off with the plaid border.  Yes... this satisfied the mother and father in-law's instinct to still celebrate birthdays.

Congratulations - DTC #137 "Mother Goose"

This is my Design Team card for Double Trouble Challenge #137 "Mother Goose" in celebration of Mother Goose Day. From this list of 109 Rhymes I chose Eeny, Meeny, Miney Mo and used the element Tiger. I had so much fun with this card using Crafty Chemist Design pop-up card; but modified measurements for an A2 card.

Twisted Sister's Optional Twist is to include at least one heart shape, the word heart and/or or the word love on your project to earn another chance in Double Trouble's random draw and be eligible to enter in Heart's Quest Challenge Blog #29 for another chance.  A heart was placed on the outside and inside sentiments.

Valentine Cards - Challenge #131 "Love Is In The Air"

Here is my Design Team card for Double Trouble Challenge #131 "Love Is in the Air" using Twisted Sister's Optional twist to use the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch Challenge # 593.

Going through Instagram I came across Jessica's #freshbyjess post "Been busy trying to use up paper vs hoarding it!". I took her advise and kept cutting pieces from CTMH "Smitten", mixing up the design papers and created three cards using the same sketch.  It's a start and a lot of fun but not sure I can keep up with it. I'll have to make it more challenging next time by rotating the sketch and/or using different sketches.

Below are photos of the three cards uses pieces of the same paperpack and stickers.  Please stop on by at Double Trouble and Try Stampin' on Tuesdays for inspiration and to see what the other Design Team members and entrants have created.  Hope to see you there.

Happy Birthday - Color Dare 488 - Fancy 5

Here is what I thought was my DT card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #488 "Fancy 5" color palette. But until it was posted this morning I didn't realize that I used the wrong color palette which did not include the colors chosen for the corrected palette.

My choices from the wrong palette, as you can see, were Sangria, Mulberry and Shortbread which none were close to the correct color palette.  I wondered why my card did not look as bright as the other projects from our Design Team; but didn't question at the time.  Anyway, here is my own color selection for this card.

I was catching up on some of my inventory of dies and I came across some half card panels which could be used very easily for a gatefold card. My decision was to use all cardstock instead of patterned papers. Cut two sets of the floral using mulberry and the frame using sangria and adhered them to each side of my gatefold card base cut from shortbread.

Keeping with using cardstock and dies decided to use a couple Sizzix fancy frames in sangria and shortbread and adhered with 3D thin foam tape to the left-hand side panel with the overlap to the right side of the gatefold. Cut three dragonfly's, two in sangria and one in mulberry, layered and adhered to the fancy frame.

Didn't have enough room for a sentiment so I cut a smaller fancy frame in shortbread and then fussy-cut a layer in sangria, stamped on a sentiment and adhered to the dragonfly focal point.

Color Dare challenges are carried forward for two weeks so if you didn't share a project for this Inspiration Photo challenge you still have another week to enter.

Both challenges are on the side bar of the Color My Heart Color Dare challenge blog. Please check out Design Team Cards and other entrants to give you inspiration and join us for future fun color challenges.  Hope to see you there.

Sending Smiles - ColorMyHeart Color Dare #426

Here is my Design Team card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #426 using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #402.  I sought out one of my newer stamps which I had not used yet and decided this would be a good stamp set for the Sketch and color challenge and also meet the requirement of Heart2Heart and Use Your Stuff "something new".

No coloring but the whimsical images were all stamped using Lagoon for one flower, Lemon (Lemonade) for another flower and Peacock for the leaves and sentiment. Went through my stash for coorindating colors for my design paper keeping it within the three colors chose for stamping. My background paper was my neutral, Linen, which gave a nice contrast and made my floral pop. Used some stamped left overs on the inside corner of my card instead of throwing them in my stash to be forever lost.

Color My Heart Color Dare challenges are carried forward for two weeks so if you didn't share your project the first week you still have another week to enter that challenge...current challenges are on the side bar of the Double Trouble challenge blog.  Please join us for some fun color challenges.

Sweet Wishes This Christmas - Double Trouble #72 "Something, Anything, Everything"

Here is my Design Team Card for Double Trouble Challenge #72 "Something, Anything, Everything" using Twisted Sister's optional twist "create a project that celebrates white, sparkly flakes of snow" and I chose Heart2Heart "Eat, Drink and Be Merry" for my partnering challenge.

This was one of the images from a Copic Coloring Class taken last year which I never completed.  Perfect for my "Snow" card.  The image was colored using a number of Copic Sketch pens and then fussy-cut. For the background I used white cardstock, cut a background die with holes and layered it with lagoon color cardstock.   Cut (2) trees, one with white and the other with Lagoon and then pieced in the white.

Penguin was layered with 3D thin foam tape for dimension and tree adhered directly to the background.  Cut a couple landscape dies and added glitter for bright sparkly snow.  "Sweet" sentiment was cut using lagoon and black for a shadow and another sentiment on white cardstock, layered with black, stamped with black ink and adhered directly to background.

Double Trouble Challenge #68 "Tall Tale" with optional twist "Tall Tail"

Attached is my Design Team's tall and skinny (turned landscape) card for Double Trouble Challenge #68 "Tall Tale" and also included the optional twist "Tall Tail" to include something with a tail.  I am also submitting this card to one of our previous partners "ColorMyHeart Color Dare #414"

My new gnome stamp sets were perfect for a tall skinny card.  Stamped all stamps from both sets "Spooky Gnomes" and "Gnome Matter" and put my Brother ScanNCut to use and colored all with Copic Sketch Brush pens, in a variety of many colors and then placed on one of the design papers from "Got Candy" Halloween paperpack using 3D thin foam tape on several of the items for dimension.  The grass was die cut using a green design paper from my stash.

On the inside of the card I decorated the bottom and right-hand border from stamps not used the front of the card.

Please go to Double Trouble for the detail of the challenge and enjoy the Things and Sneetches inspiration for this fun Challenge.
This challenge is open from Monday, October 5th through October 18th.

If you haven't done a tall and skinny card please let it be a first time at our Challenge... so much fun to try to fill the space. Hope to see you there.

All tall and skinny cards can be mailed in a business envelope.
