Cute as a Button - CD #542 "Lucky 7"

Here is my Design Team card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #542 "Lucky 7" using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #518. Went to my stash for striped patterned paper but none matched up to the colors in Lucky 7... so went to my border dies and decided to use the the button border die for Any Occasion Baby and/or Toddler card.  Cut two each of four of the softer colors (Seabrook, Periwinkle, Honey Butter and Peach) and adhered with glue to white cardstock and adhered to a Periwinkle layer.

Looking at the background... it was telling me to dust off my Cricut and use once again "Cute As a Button" which I had purchased as early as 2016 and time to use it again. Ended up being many layers of color until I got the color I wanted.

Have the button, now I need the "Cute"... with Easter around the corner I chose the little bunny stamp set from the CTMH Daisy cardmaking kit.  Stamped three Bunnies, colored with Copic Sketch pens, fussy-cut and used 3D thin foam tape for
dimension.  Sentiment positioned over forehead in which the ears and the button in the middle was used for the bow in the sketch.

The sentiment and bunny were getting lost among the rows of buttons so decided to cut and adhere a heart circular frame in pink with a white center and adhered the bunny to the frame.  The sentiment was still being lost so I chose to cut a white lacy banner and adhered the sentiment to the banner.  And wallah... "Cute as a Button".

Cut one more button border and adhered it to the right inside of card.

Howl-idays & Meowy - Double Trouble Challenge #134

This is my Design Team card for Double Trouble Challenge #134 "PAWsome Pets" celebrating National Puppy Day.  Pulling out CTMH's  "A Furry Merry Christmas" Stamp and Die set which has kittens and puppies along with some cute puns, perfect for this challenge.  We are partnering with Use Your Stuff Challenge #480   "Animals"

On White cardstock stenciled the Christmas Tree sponged with Willow and Emerald inks, fussy-cut and adhered to background paper allowing space for the two sentiments and using 3D thin foam tape on one side of tree for dimension.

It's been a long time since coloring with pencils which I had bought at a Pencil Coloring Class more than three years ago.  Later also purchased some gamsol as seen used in some of our Double Trouble entrants' that colored with pencils.  Dusted off my color pencil box, went to YouTube to see how Gamsol is applied... and I was off to coloring my images with pencils.  And this is my completed project using color pencils.  I think I need more practice for improvement... so I'm not stopping here.

On the inside of card I added some paw-prints on the right-hand border and another sentiment "Wishing you a PURR-FECT Christmas".

SLIM'S SPECIAL RANDOM DRAW FOR You and Your PAWsome PET PHOTO
Slim, one of my Grand-Fur-babies, wants to acknowledge National Puppy Day with his FURends (puppies and kittens) for this Special Random Draw. Slim wanted to share this day with his Grandma and Aunt Cleo.

When Slim visits me, his Grandma, Aunt Cleo will run under the bed and won't come back out until she knows Slim has gone home. They only had one encounter and it didn't go well... so we keep it to a Zoom visit.

My daughter gave me a tee-shirt with a picture of a cat which says "Pay Attention to Me Ignoring You". My Cleo has a mind of her own, and she's the boss and she will let me know when she wants to play, wants attention and/or snacks. But she's a sweetheart.

Hugs - Color Dare Challenge #540 Fancy Five

This is my Design Team project for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #540 "Fancy Five" and my choice of three colors were Sapphire, Sage and Ballerina.

I had seen this technique using a butterfly stamp and chose to use one of my butterfly stamp sets I hadn't yet used.  With re-inks... placing colors on a baby wipe, then press stamp on baby wipe and then onto cardstock.  I didn't have the re-inks for the most recent CTMH colors, but found a pretty good match with Blossom and Juniper. I substituted with a different wipe... so it came out okay but think I need some baby wipes for comparison and also add more colors.

Since the colors were pastel I decided to use a dark background.  In my stash I had an old retired Paper Fundamentals "Enchantment" and pulled out a pretty basket weave in Sapphire.

I looked through several challenges to see if there was a sketch that appealed to me and decided on Tuesday Morning's Sketch Challenge #698.  The only problem was when I completed my post today I noted it was closing before the Color Dare Challenge so I couldn't enter their challenge.  Oh well, lesson learned, or maybe not.

Die cut the corner frame of honeycones in the three colors and then pieced in the different color hexagons.  The circle die had a decorative scalloped edge, and then finished off with a Hugs sentiment die.

For the inside of the card I took some of the extra extra hexagons and experimental butterfly pieces and adhered on the inside corner of card.

Hoppy St. Patrick's Day -- Double Trouble #133

This is my Design Team project for Double Trouble Challenge #133 "Pinch Proof" partnering with Inspiration Station's Challenge #47 focusing on the color Green.  Did you know that wearing green on Saint Patrick's Day is supposed to make you invisible to leprechauns? They will pinch you as soon as you come upon their radar if you don't wear green! And I didn't want to get pinched.

Twisted Sister's optional twist was to use a plaid and/or checker and I used both. Didn't have so far to go for a plaid because it was sitting on my desk... a  green plaid paper that was already adhered to a card base which I never used. Then I went to my little plastic bin labled St. Patty's Day and found small pieces of Doodlebug patterned papers and cute images and sentiments. The checkered paper matched the plaid perfectly, along with cute images and sentiments.  Layered each with Evergreen cardstock and then adhered to the plaid card base using glue and 3D foam tape.  Needed something more in the bottom corner so added gold sequins and my card was done.

I think my thought process on what I was going to do took longer than putting this card together.  I was Hoppy with it.

Happy Easter - ColorMyHeart Color Dare #538

This is my Design Team project for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #538 "Four Square". You only need to select three of the colors and all neutrals and metalics are Free.  These colors reminded me of Easter and I chose Sage, Periwinkle and Melon and die cut a stitched quilt background in each of the three colors so I could create three backgrounds for my Easter Gnomes.

I stamped the Easter Gnomes with Black Mememto Ink and colored with Copic Sketch pens using a variety of colors to create the closest match to Sage, Periwinkle and Melon, plus grey and brown neutrals.  I'm one to usually use foam tape for dimension; but the quilted look gave enough texture and dimension. Each Gnome was adhered directly on the background and the sentiments also stamped directly on background.
