Double Trouble Challenge #24 "Metallic" with Brown Sugar "Transportation"

This is my DT card for "Double Trouble Challenge "Use Metallic" adding the twist "my favorite mode of travel" which then qualified me to enter in the Brown Sugar Challenge #288 "Transportation".

This image was colored at one of my first Copic Classes.  A Card Kit is supplied to include all the materials needed to put the card together; however the only items used were the image and sentiment.  And, to be perfectly honest had difficulty in putting the fold card together.  To add the twist used a metallic gold background paper layered with black cardstock, layered the colored image with black cardstock and adhered image to the background.  Found some metallic brads (which has been in my stash for at least five years), adhered them to the side mirrors of the van and then adhered both panels to the card base.  Sentiment was layered with black and adhered with 3D Thin Foam Tape in bottom corner.

Thank you to Jenifer Dove (Just4FunCrafts) for being my first Instructor, at The Paper Collage Copic Class, a local scrapbook store in Peoria Arizona.

Please join us at Double Trouble and Heart2Heart and create your interpretation of the following requirements:

Love You To Pieces - Color Dare #334

This is my ColorMyHeart Color Dare DT card using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #307.  A friend gave me this puzzle die by Sizzix and I've been wanting to use them and it was just right for our Love of Color challenge.  My first attempt I was not pleased with ... wrong background color, sentiment was poorly personally written on another puzzle piece, crooked puzzle pieces and card was just so blahhh. Maybe if I detached the background with the puzzle pieces and dry embossed for texture it could be salvaged ... boy was that a mistake.  I was able to save the card base and the lagoon border; everything else tossed in the waste basket.

Starting over, cut several puzzle pieces in each of the colors, juggled them around until happy with the design, put them together and dry embossed them in a pretty floral pattern.  This time used a lighter background (almond) and also dry embossed that with a different design.  Puzzle pieces were added, two flush to the background and two popped up with 3D thin foam tape.

Now for the sentiment, pulled out my Cricut which I haven't used in months and thought I could add some text on another puzzle piece but found this sentiment and decided to use it in some of the same colors.  All done and pleasantly surprised with the end result.

For the inside of the card, had a few puzzle pieces from my first attempt, cut them a little smaller and put on the edge of the inside border.

Please pop on by and see our other Design Team Member inspirations, create a project and you have two weeks for entry...would love to see your projects.

One of a Kind - Color Dare #333

This is my DT card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #333, using the CTMH "So Much Happy" design papers and using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #306.  With the AHSC sketch the floral design paper was the perfect background.  Used one of the zip strips, fussy-cut a floral for the bow, adhered with 3D thin foam tape for dimension and added wink of Stella to the floral bow.  Chose a sentiment on the complement design paper which reminded me of a sun, and completed my scene with a fussy-cut little cloud, distressed the edges with Linen Ink and adhered with 3D thin foam tape.

I'm Lucky to Know You - Double Trouble Challenge #23 "Wearing of the Green" with Heart2Heart

This is my DT card for Double Trouble Challenge #23 "Wearin' O' the Green"  and partnering with Heart2Heart "St Patty's Day".  In my stash there was a House Mouse standing in a field of clovers so took out my copic alcohol-based brush pens and started coloring.  The greens for the clovers were matched up to the background paper, colored the four-leaf clover gold and used a pop of red in the small buds.  Stamped and heat embossed the sentiment gold, colored a clover and bud from a second stamped image, fussy-cut and adhered to the back of the sentiment.

Please join us at Double Trouble and Heart2Heart and create your interpretation of the following requirements:

THING 1: Trouble Maker
says, "Let's celebrate St. Patrick's Day with the Wearin' O' the Green!" Dress up your project with green as the primary color. It does not have to be a St. Paddy's Day card... celebrate any occasion.

THING 3: Twisted Sister
Include a "golden touch" on your project for an added chance at our random draw.

THING 2: Double Dare
says, "I'm proud of my Irish heritage and double dare you to play along by linking your green project at Heart2Heart.
Even though the H2H challenge is open until the end of the month; the Double Trouble challenge closes March 17th, so please post before the end of the month for more chances to win the random draw.

Don't forget to look for the golden shamrock in Secret Sister's Blog and when you find it make sure you leave a special comment and tell us where the shamrock was found in her blog to be eligible for the special prize.

Enjoy Your Day - Color Dare #332

This is my DT card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare using another one of my Copic colored images. Our instructor for this Copic class was Jennifer Dove, at The Paper Collage (a local scrapbook store in Peoria Arizona).

My image had the orange/yellow and green tones which seemed a good match for the colors in the Inspiration Board. Chose not to make a St. Patty's Day card instead chose to make an any occasion card. Only thing used from the Card Packet was a piece of the design paper and sentiment. Fussy-cut the one side of the image, adhered a thin foam sheet to the back and then layered on a willow and goldrush cardstock. Layered the sentiment with the same colors.
