DTC #152 - Participating with Coffee Lover's Fall/Winter Blog Hop - Day 1

Join us at Double Trouble Challeng #152 "DeJa-BREW" and hop on by and enjoy the CRAFTEINATING inspiration by our Design Team and entrants. This card was inspired by the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #549... perfect for a fun fold.  Almost forgot my pun for Twisted Sister's optional twist... wasn't sure how I was going to get that in without a re-make or new card, but with the help of Thing 2 Double Dare she suggested Cool Beans... so a sign on the snowman to-go-cup was hand-drawn and adhered with thin 3D tape. Phew, that wasn't hard.

DTC is participating with 2023 Coffee Lover's Fall/Winter Blog Hop and here is my Coffee themed card for Day 1.  AND I have some blog candy for you today! Be sure to comment on Double Trouble Challenge post HERE and win a prize from me!

This was a fun card to put together in meeting all the requirements of the three challenges.  These design papers were a gift as winner of the August BYSHC Challenge #36 and I will be using more papers in future Christmas cards.

When opening card on L-H side there is another sentiment and a Holly to meet the requirement at Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge #23.

Opening on the R-H side there is a Penquin holding another sentiment leaving some room for signature on bottom.  Turn to the back of the card and you have plenty of space for a personal message to your recipient.

Hope to see you at Double Trouble "DeJa-BREW" and win another chance at our random draw if you have entered your coffee themed project at the Coffee Lover's Blog Hop... and add a funny pun on your project for another chance.

All our Team Members at Double Trouble have BLOG CANDY!  We hope you'll visit each member's individual blog, view the prize, and leave a comment - BUT - this will not qualify you for the prizes. After viewing each individual blog, go back to the Double Trouble Blog and leave a comment. From those comments, we will randomly select the names of Blog Candy recipients. Please join in the fun. Be sure to comment on Double Trouble Challenge post HERE and win a prize from me!  Here is a photo of my Blog Candy giveaway.

And don't forget the perk at Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge #23 if you have created a Christmas coffee theme card and have included a holly.

Just Another Day - Birthday Card

Here is a card I made for our son-in-law, who says he's just doesn't want us to celebrate his birthday because it's "Just Another Day"; but mother and father in law are not listening.  After all... each year we celebrate his birthday, it's another birthday together.  Now, how is a non-celebration birthday card created and still be celebrated.  This is how it was accomplished... while putting a new stamp in my inventory the sentiment on CTMH Cape Code-Cardmaking stamp was my inspiration to create the front of the card but use the sentiment for the inside.

Thus... created a belated birthday card I thought our son-in-law would appreciate using his phrase as the sentiment and three different vendor dies using the plaid from "Celebrating You" CTMH paperpack for the birth date.  The birth date die cuts were adhered to the background on a coordinating paper from same packet, bordered with Lemon cardstock and adhered with 3D thin foam tape for dimension.  The sentiment was typed on Word, printed, edged with Lagoon, bordered with Lemon cardstock and adhered to card with 3D thin foam tape.

The sentiment that was my inspiration was used for the inside of the card... The "But & Another Number" sentiment was also typed on Word, printed, cut and adhered direct inside card base.  The "happy  55" was die cut using same background paper with a second set in Lemon cardstock as a shadow and finished off with the plaid border.  Yes... this satisfied the mother and father in-law's instinct to still celebrate birthdays.

Happy Birthday for Challenge #139 "Masculine Card" partnering with Festive Friday

Here is my Design Card for Double Trouble Challenge #139 "Masculine Card" collaborating with Festive Friday Challenge "Inspo List".  Masculine cards are not in my comfort zone; however, Festive Friday makes the collaboration of their elements so easy with our Thing choices.  Thing 1 Trouble Maker says "create a Masculine card" and Thing 3 Twisted Sister says "include a Plaid/Check"

Thing 2 Double Trouble says "Choose at least one more Element from Festive Fridays "Inspo List" or two if you have not chosen Twisted Sister's optional plaid / checker for your project.

My husband is an avid golfer so to meet the Festive Friday Challenge I chose Sports... and as I was creating my card the checker patterned paper was Blue and bordered with dark blue Sapphire.  Die Cuts were a golf Vehicle and golfer and Cricut cut for the golf ball.  (From Inspo List: Masculine, Plaid/Checker / Sports / Blue / Vehicle and Dies)

Valentine Cards - Challenge #131 "Love Is In The Air"

Here is my Design Team card for Double Trouble Challenge #131 "Love Is in the Air" using Twisted Sister's Optional twist to use the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch Challenge # 593.

Going through Instagram I came across Jessica's #freshbyjess post "Been busy trying to use up paper vs hoarding it!". I took her advise and kept cutting pieces from CTMH "Smitten", mixing up the design papers and created three cards using the same sketch.  It's a start and a lot of fun but not sure I can keep up with it. I'll have to make it more challenging next time by rotating the sketch and/or using different sketches.

Below are photos of the three cards uses pieces of the same paperpack and stickers.  Please stop on by at Double Trouble and Try Stampin' on Tuesdays for inspiration and to see what the other Design Team members and entrants have created.  Hope to see you there.

Trick or Treat - Double Trouble #124 - SomeThing, AnyThing, Everything

Here is my design team card for Double Trouble "SomeThing, AnyThing, EveryThing" using Twisted Sister's optional twist to include a wild life critter(s).  When I saw the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #497 it cried out to use this sketch for my last Halloween card... this was so fun sketch to work with all the variations of the sketch.

In place of the banners on the upper left-hand upper border I chose to put a couple of candies peeking out from behind the two patterned paper rectangles.  The eyes of the bat were replacement for the two embellishments in the upper right-hand corner and another candy at the left-hand corner as the embellishment.

A sentiment was stamped several times with pumpkin treat baskets bordered in black and then adhered with 3D thin foam for dimension and a place to stand the Witch Owl. Owl was stamped, colored and adhered to the background orange and black rainbow circle with 3D thin foam tape also for dimension.  All candies were fussy-cut with candies placed as embellishments, under the arm of the owl, her broomstick and adhered with foam tape.

Double Trouble #122 - Jan's Digitals (Fall )

Here is my Design Team project for Double Trouble "Fall Colors - Leafin' It Up To You" using the colors in Trouble Maker's clipart and sharing the same colors with ColorMyHeart Color Dare Challenge #515 TicTacToe using the CTMH Paperpack Crisp Air).  My choice was (Col 1:  Nectarine, Pine, Sundance) + all other colors except Peach and Gold.  Double Trouble is partnering with Jan's Digi's Blog Challenge "Anything Goes" and earn an additional chance at Double Trouble's Random Draw.

In my stash there was a tag stamp with a Fall floral which was perfect for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #492. This challenge will have ended by the time this post comes up but loved the sketch for theme for Double Trouble. Took advantage of the many coordinating patterned papers and used them for the banners, background and the go-to-cup with Pumpkin spice coffee. The pumpkin was fussy-cut from one of the patterned papers to satisfy Twisted Sister's optional twist to "include a pumpkin". Tag, background and banners were each bordered with Paprika cardstock. Sentiment was stamped on the upper right-hand side for balance instead of on the tag.

Two tags were stamped lightly with Mocha ink and then one colored with a variety of Copic colors close to the TicTacToe Board. The other one was used to fussy-cut the two florals and adhered with 3D thin and regular foam tape for dimension.  The to-go-cup was a die that was cut using the patterned paper, the sleeve and cover were adhered with 3D thin foam, and then adhered to tag base with foam tape.  Pumpkin was fussy-cut from patterned paper, adhered with thin foam tape in center and glued to the sides for rounding. Below is a photo taken to show the dimension.

Forgot to mention my booboo. I was testing the Copic colors for Nectarine and Sundance and tested the colors on my almost completed tag floral in the upper right-hand corner. Unfortunately, it was too large an area to cover with an embellishment. But I did have the two leaves on the extra tag which I colored, fussy-cut and adhered with thin tape for dimension.

Double Trouble #93 - Autumn Blessings

This is my Design Team card for Double Trouble Challenge No. 93 Something, Anything, Everything (aka Anything Goes) with and Twisted Sister's optional twist to include "Fall Harvest Item".

At our Little Group Crop today we were working with Gel Press backgrounds and I chose to do woodgrain and plaid for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #439 and also meet the requirement of Heart2Hearts "Be Creative with Cardstock" using the colors in ColorMyHeart Color Dare "TicTacToe".  Since I used copic oil base pens and acrylic paints my colors are closest to the TicTacToe palette.

Thing 3:  Twisted Sister says, "It's the season of Harvest and I know Trouble Maker is eager to bite into a crispy apple. As for me, I'd rather bite into a warm apple pie. Let's make a fall project and include your favorite Fall Harvest item(s), e.g. pies, apples, pears, pumpkins, gourds, pomegranates, Indian corn, grains, scarecrows, etc.

The Gel Press backgrounds you really don't know what you're going to get with the different layers and materials you work with. My daughter's eyes were rolling a bit and I required a little more time then she probably wanted to give me; but she held her patience with my frustrations.  But at the end I came up with the two designs I needed and were happy with them.

I tackled the woodgrain first... acrylic paint colors used were close to Mink, Tangerine, Toffee, Shortbread, Black & White acrylic paint using a woodgrain stencil until I got the texture and color I wanted.  Next the plaid... colors used were close to Harbour, Mink, Toffee, Shortbread, Black and White acrylic paint and using a plaid stamp until I got the texture and color I wanted.  The plaid had some smudging due to layers of colors so I wasn't sure I was happy with the plaid but it looked rustic. My daughter encouraged me and said they were perfect.  So, I had the pieces I needed for the AHSC but would have to wait until I got home to bring my card all together.

The circle for the sentiment was cut in two different sizes, using Toffee with a frame of Harbour.  Had already cut out some pussy willows from a die in an assortment of colors, but just layered them for dimension with the the Shortbread color on top.  and a peek-a-boo of Paprika.  Stamped pumpkin row and colored with Copic Sketch Pens (alcohol-base) using colors as close to Paprika, Payaya and Harbour and adhered at the bottom of the pussy willows.  Stamped sentiment in Sapphire (closest color to Harbour) and added the gold sequins.

Sending Smiles - ColorMyHeart Color Dare #426

Here is my Design Team card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #426 using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #402.  I sought out one of my newer stamps which I had not used yet and decided this would be a good stamp set for the Sketch and color challenge and also meet the requirement of Heart2Heart and Use Your Stuff "something new".

No coloring but the whimsical images were all stamped using Lagoon for one flower, Lemon (Lemonade) for another flower and Peacock for the leaves and sentiment. Went through my stash for coorindating colors for my design paper keeping it within the three colors chose for stamping. My background paper was my neutral, Linen, which gave a nice contrast and made my floral pop. Used some stamped left overs on the inside corner of my card instead of throwing them in my stash to be forever lost.

Color My Heart Color Dare challenges are carried forward for two weeks so if you didn't share your project the first week you still have another week to enter that challenge...current challenges are on the side bar of the Double Trouble challenge blog.  Please join us for some fun color challenges.

You Are Too Cool - Double Trouble Challenge #73 with Bitten by the Bug 2

Here is my DT card for Double Trouble Challenge #73 "A Die-lirious Holiday Season" and partnering with Bitten By a Bug 2.  Thing 1 Trouble Maker (Me) asks you to select a favorite tool to create a Holiday project. My selection was the Cuttlebug for which I selected my new CTMH Waterfall Thin Cut... sooooo much easier than cutting and scoring a written tutorial for your waterfall.

Then the fun began... selection of stamps for the waterfall. In my stash there were a couple penguins previously colored last year in a Copic class and never completed as a card.  These were perfect for a Holiday waterfall card, along with a cute walrus and a sentiment with snowflakes.

One of the penguin stamps had snow already drawn in the image so to carry down the snow on the waterfall I used a Copic black multi-liner pen, drew the circles in each of the panels and added a touch of glacier ink in each. The abundance of snow falling created a couple of snowmen and sentiment sending snowman kisses on the tag.   Thing 3 Twisted Sister had an optional twist to "Tie it Up" or "Wrap It Up".  I chose to Tie It Up and put a polka-dot bow in the hole of the tab... which bows are quite a task for me, not in my comfort zone.

I was happy with my Bow and whimsical card... hope you were too.

Please go to Double Trouble for the detail of the challenge and enjoy the Things and Sneetches inspiration for this fun Challenge.

Choose your favorite die or cutting tool and create a project for the Holidays.  Additional challenge use Twisted Sister's optional twist "Tie It Up" or "Wrap It Up".

Our partner for this challenge is "Bitten By the Bug 2" which have given us a "Die'al to use any die or cutting tool.

This challenge is open from December 7th, 2020 to January 3rd, 2021

In addition to the random draw prize, we will pick a favorite in each of 4 categories and you will receive a Gift Card. To qualify, you must identify in your post what machine or tool you used for your project... don't keep us guessing
