Just Fore You - ColorMyHeart Color Dare #448 Love Of Color

This is my Design Team card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #448 using Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch Challenge #509 and their optional theme "Masculine".

Purchased some pre-cut Fun Fold card bases from The Paper Cut and thought the "Outer Stair Step Card" would be perfect for the TSOT's sketch.  Somewhat out of the box but I think it shows a good interpretation of the sketch and the colors in the Color Dare challenge were excellent colors for a masculine card... all colors except for the Peach were used.

The golf bags were cut using three colors, layered and placed on the back two steps with a stitched border using sage cardstock the greens.  The golf cart was also cut using three colors, layered and placed on another stitched border using almond cardstock and embossed for a cart sand path. Two more cuts using the sage cardstock and stitched borders were cut to extend the grass across the card representing the panel in the sketch.  Another almond stitched border embossed for an extension of the cart sand path.  Finished card off with sentiments on the greens.

Color My Heart Color Dare challenges are carried forward for two weeks so if you didn't share your project the first week you still have another week to enter that challenge... both of these challenges are on the side bar of the Color My Heart Color Dare challenge blog. Please check out Design Team Cards and other entrants to give you inspiration and join us for future fun color challenges.

Batty in Love - Double Trouble Challenge #37

This is my DT card for the Double Trouble Challenge #37 "We're Mad for Plaid" and I chose the Paper Smooches September Sketch Challenge however, decided to reverse the sketch upside-down.

Decided to make a Halloween card and went with several design papers for my die cuts, stamps and background to meet Thing 1: Trouble Maker's Challenge requirement of "something plaid".

Also used Thing 3 Twisted Sister's optional twist "Tag It" using tags and/or frames on your project...die cut three different design papers for frames, adhered to another design paper for background and layered with a black panel.

Thing 2 Double Trouble says "if you have used this optional twist you can also enter in the Use Your Stuff Challenge #375 "Tags and Frames".

Sentiment was stamped on the small orange frame. Using the same purple design paper and a black foam for dimension...die cut the tree and adhered to the orange star frame. Again using the same purple design paper, stamped the bat with Versa-Mark, heat embossed with black embossing powder and adhered to the plaid frame with 3D thin foam tape. Spiders were cut from black cardstock, attached nail detail for the hanging web from tree and adhered spiders with 3D thin foam rounds. The spiders, tree and bat were finished off with glitter pen.

'Bats in the Belfry' refers to someone who acts as though he has bats careering around his topmost part, that is, his head. So, I must have Bats in my Belfry.

You ask, Why? The photo below was my original DT card until one of the DT members said, "shouldn't the bat be upside down?" Pulled out my stamp and sure enough the bat was pictured upside down. I thought, who would know, but the other thought was, I would know. Soooo, I proceeded carefully lifting off the bat; however not careful enough as it left a small tear in the plaid. Added a little more limb to the tree and hung the bat upside down making sure it covered the tear. Now, not that I was unhappy with my original card; but I just thought it would look cute upside down...and I think I was right. Either way it put a smile on my face.
