Sending Smiles

This is my DT Card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #379, a Valentine Inspiration Board and an Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #352 that has already closed. Cut the bottle from a clear soft plastic bag and in cardstock, penciled in where bottle would be, placed some of the candy hearts and then pieced together the bottle and placed over the hearts.  Again, outlined where I would place the flowing hearts and adhered them with glue in layers.  Added a sentiment.

My oldest son comes over quite frequently and I put aside any of the cards I made from the previous week and have him critique them.  He then puts them in order of his favorite to least favorite.  This one failed... why? "Mom, candies do not fall out of a jar like that" and I told him "My jars do".  But since it didn't make it to the AHSC challenge, I decided to fill it in as candies would fall from a jar.    Twisted Sister from Double Trouble was here visiting this past weekend and she suggested to mail this card to him with the change.  So off it went in the mail as a Valentine Day card... I know it will go in his collection of homemade cards and maybe it will then become a favorite.

Please pop over to Color Dare and see DT members' inspiration, along with other participants that have entered this challenge, and join us in this fun color challenge. Color My Heart Color Dare challenges are carried forward for two weeks so if you didn't share your project the first week you have another week to enter your project.

Taco 'Bout Awesome - Double Trouble #48 with AHSC #503

This is my DT card for Double Trouble Challenge #48 "Say Cheese," something that makes you smile" using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #353, our partner for this sketch challenge, and including Twisted Sister's optional twist "cheese comfort foods".  This is a Sneak Peek for the 2nd week of our Challenge using AHSC #353, so if you chose this sketch it cannot be posted until January 27th.

Oh my, I had so much fun with this challenge.  "Say Cheese" makes me think of cameras,  phones and selfies... which all make you smile.  I chose an iPhone's camera and created a selfie... an adorable little girl standing in front a Taco Bell fast-food diner.  The Taco Bell was clipart found on the computer which was resized, printed and adhered to the screen of the iPhone.  The little girl was stamped, colored and adhered under the Taco Bell.

My daughter mentioned she has a stamp set that had taco sentiments so I borrowed it and not only was there a sentiment but an adorable Chihuahua dressed up with a taco.  So I stamped two Chihuahuas, colored and pieced one of them in the selfie and the other was in full carrying the taco sentiment.  As far as the wave in the sketch what better then to stamp bones in the wave; but it needed some depth.  So stamped and cut with my Brother Scan and Cut and adhered them with 3D thin foam tape over the stamped image to give it dimension.

Well, I can't stop smiling and I hope that you all find this makes you smile too.

Join us in this fun challenge. Our theme is "Say Cheese" and second week of this Challenge, Sketch #353 optional, begins Monday, January 27th, and closes on Sunday, February 2nd. Capture the Moment - Heart2Heart and MoJo Monday

This card was made for Heart2Heart theme challenge "All Spruced Up" using the MoJo Monday Sketch Challenge #529. Mojo Monday have all the measurements of the panels on their sketch so it makes it easy, no guessing.  And then all you have to do is get your inspiration from the papers you use and add some embellishments.  Chose to use the bird design paper in CTMH "Spruced Up" paperpack for my focal point, cut the panels in other design papers from the same packet, for the coordinating colors, and layered all with sangria cardstock.  Dies were used for my embellishment of fern and branches and berries added with Nuvo drops.  Also used Nuvo drops on the branch in the focal point and added a sentiment above it.

Get Well Soon - Color Dare #378 "Love of Color"

This is my design card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #378 - Love of Color using Freshly Made Sketches #419. Cut the background paper and cardstock as in the sketch and then layered with sage cardstock.  Wanted something to take up the large panel and chose a poppy flower die.  Cut two of the large flower in saffron cardstock, light and dark side, pieced the stem and adhered with 3D thin foam tape between the layers.  Cut the smaller bud, pieced the stem and then adhered both of the poppies on the blue panel.  Added the ribbon across the bottom along with a sentiment.

Hey - Double Trouble Challenge #48 with AHSC

Here is my DT Card for Double Trouble Challenge #48 "Say Cheese", something to make you smile with Twisted Sister's Optional Twist "comfort food" and using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #352.

Circle Die was cut in the center of the Cranberry background and then the two spotlight cuts were made from a collage die, a patterned paper was placed in the back of the cranberry panel and then layered to Honey Cardstock and adhered to my card base.

The Drive Thru cuts (cheeseburger, fries and drink) were cut with different colors of cardstock and pieces layered and finished foods were then adhered to the circle with 3D thin foam tape for dimension.  Sentiment was cut two times in the cranberry cardstock and adhered to background.

It's Your Day - Color Dare #377

This is my Design Team Card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #377 using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #351.  The color palette for this challenge is CTMH paper pack "Spruced Up" and pretty much used all the colors in this palette except for Gold. Love all the design papers and zip strips in this packet and it was just easy to select the designs papers for each weave. Design strips were weaved and adhered with 3D thin foam tape.

Curved the stamped sentiment directly on the woodgrain background, fussy-cut the Bird on branch from one of the design papers, adhered bird above the sentiment with 3D thin foam tape and finally used Novo drops on the branch berries and along sentiment.

You're the Beary Best - Double Trouble Challenge #47 "Hot or Cold"

This card was created for the Double Trouble Challenge #47 "Hot or Cold" embossing to include Twisted Sister's optional twist "Something Warm" and inspired by the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #350 changing the sketch to portrait and sharing with Double Trouble's partner Stinkin' Inkers January Challenge "Warm Up".

My stack of bears/penguins were stamped on white cardstack, masked to create each level, colored with Copic sketch pens, fussy-cut and adhered with thin foam tape for dimension on the embossed background.  The adorable penguin snow fairy was stamped, colored, fussy-cut and adhered above the stack with thin foam tape.  The large paw print was embossed fussy-cut, colored and adhered to the embossed background in the same space as the background.  A small sentiment was directly stamped on background.
