Owl Always Love You - Color Dare #534 "Inspiration Photo"

This is my Design Team project for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #534 using the CTMH "Life's a Hoot" paperpack which included many of the colors in the Hearts Inspiration Photo.

While looking for a sketch came across the Tuesday Morning Sketches #693 using a bird as the focal point of the sketch. There was an adorable owl on the sticker sheet included in the same paperpack. CAS and a little time... my card was completed.

Used one of the pretty patterned papers for my background.  The banners were one of the zip strips from the design paper and the other three banners were from the Sticker Sheet which one was the sentiment.  Since the owl was an oval decided it wasn't necessary for the oval frame. Put a pink border around the background paper and adhered to the card base. Done in less than half an hour and happy with the result.

Please hop on over and join us at ColorMyHeart Color Dare Challenge, check out our Design Team inspiration, and let's see what you create... hope to see you there. You may also  want to hope on over to Tuesday Morning Sketches for inspiration to their challenge.

Greetings From Arizona - Cool Holidays

Here is my card for the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge #12 Snowman. One of my last Christmas cards for this year and this card is for a very special high school friend back East.  This was such a fun card to make and I know she will enjoy it.

I started with the Whimsy melting Snowman stamped on white cardstock and used a multi-liner black pen to add some melted snow below the fan to place a cup of hot chocolate.  Colored the image, stamped the sentiment and then cut out the top portion of the image for later placement on the background.  Cut, stamped and colored the cup of chocolate, placed on the bottom corner on the added melting snow adhering with thin foam tape for dimension.

Now I needed to build the scene.  Selected a blue pattern paper for the sky and bordered with candy apple cardstock and adhered to cardbase. Cut a layered sun, colored, stamped sentiment on center cut of sun and adhered direct to background paper.   Cactus was cut (only partial used), and adhered to background paper. I had colored the flowers that were a part of the cactus die cut but wasn't pleased with the look, so went through my stash to find some small flowers.  Flowers stamped with candy apple ink, fussy-cut and adhered to cactus with glue dots.  The image was added to the background with thin foam tape.

A True Friend - Color Dare #301

This is my DT card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare Challenge #301 combined with the Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge #461.  Oh what luscious colors and a great sketch to use them on.  Instead of the twine I decided to use some vine flourishes.

Happy Spring - Pigments of Imagination

This card was made for Little Acres Creations Birthday Celebration using Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge #449. Piglets are enjoying wallowing in hot chocolate...surely better than dirt. Stamped the splash of chocolate on white cardstock, colored, stamped sentiment, layered scene on cardstock and adhered to my floral background card base. Stamped the cute Piglets on white cardstock, colored, fussy-cut and adhered with 3D thin foam tape laying across the chocolate. Instead of a flower...die cut a teapot to place on the corner with 3D thin foam tape, drew in the stream of hot chocolate and applied liquid glass.

The theme is Nature and/or Coffee and is meant to inspire, not required, so let your imagination run "wild"! You are not required to use Little Acres Creations stamps, but if you have them...we'd love to see them! You can link up to other challenges, but your project should be created specifically for this challenge. You have until April 20th at 11:55 pm Pacific Time to link up. Don't forget about all of the other activities going on here through the 20th and so many more chances to win some big prizes! You can find all of the details by clicking on this link and visiting the main Celebration Post!

Also used liquid glass on the piglets eyes, snout, tail and hoofs. Colored over the lid on the teapot with gold and used CTMH glitter pen on both the piglets and teapot. On the inside of the card used another one of the Piglet stamps and bordered with the same plaid design paper used on the front.

Are You Kitten Me? - Color Dare #288

Did many cut panels in both the lagoon and peacock blues and shuffled them around until I was happy with the distribution of the colors.  Went to my stamp collection and found this adorable cat and that's where my mink came in.  This cat stamp reminds me so much of my son's cat "Thurman" and we are babysitting him for the next couple weeks.  Showing my husband the half put together card, Thurman jumped up on the bed and wanted to see it too...almost like he knew I was making this card of him.  Well, it was late and because I wasn't quite happy with my project...it needed something more...and off to bed.

Waking up the next morning, the circle panel was changed to a ball of yarn using different design paper so that changed my final shuffle of color distribution from last night and had to cut one more panel with a different design paper to coordinate with this change. Now to pull in some silver and a sentiment.  Apparently the mouse made his home in the ball of yarn, came out, and sat on Thurman's head to let him know not to play with the ball...Thurman says "Are You Kitten Me?"

Please stop by and view the DT's inspiration for these challenges ... and would love to see what projects you will create.  The Color Dare Challenge will be open for (2) weeks...AND you still have time to enter in our Color Dare #287 Click Here.

On the inside of the card added a border on the bottom with design paper.

Much Love, Thanks - Color Dare #287

My DT card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #287 combined with the Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge #447.  My background was made from White Daisy cardstock, dry embossed and then swiping Bashful ink over the top of the embossed card and adhered to a Blossom Panel.  The heart image was stamped using Pebble ink, flowers stamped in Blossom, leaves  in Bashful and sentiment in Pebble.

The stamped image was rectangular so used the smaller die from Cutz "Nested Wacky Stitched Circle", die cut next larger size in Blossom, layered with thin foam and stamped the sentiment.  However, the sentiment was too light, tried to stamp over it and ruined it.  Ended up having to fussy-cut the heart image, stamping sentiment again on white cardstock using my Misti, cut smaller circle to back the heart image and adhered to the background after applying the zip strips.  Added a couple floral seguins to the flowers.

Please stop by and view the DT's inspiration for these challenges ... and would love to see what bright and cheery projects you will create.  The Color Dare Challenge will be open for (2) weeks...AND you still have time to enter in our Color Dare #286 TicTacToe choosing your own colors from the grid Click Here.

On the inside of the card added a border on the bottom with design paper and then added a cluster of small flowers from the stamp set.

Stargazer - Color Dare #286 TicTacToe

This is my Design Team Card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #286 combined with Tuesday Mornings Sketch Challenge #446 and chose to use the bottom row "Canary, Ruby, Pewter" and almost all the other colors from the Tic-Tac-Toe Board, along with one design paper, 4 PML cards and a couple zip strips from the "Make Waves" paper pack.  Cut all the design panels, layered with Sapphire cardstock and adhered to background design paper.  The rocket PML card was die cut with a stitched oval using thin foam tape to attach to the Paper Smooches "Bam Bubble" and adhered with thin foam sheet to the background panels.  A sentiment "4-U" was designed in Cricut Design Space with text, cut and adhered to the rocket panel.

You will get to choose colors from a Tic-Tac-Toe board using the Close to My Heart color palette from the featured paper pack of the month. In March we have been featuring colors from the "Stargazer" paper pack. You must use and identify the three colors in a row/column of your choice with your entry. You may also add any or all of the other colors from the Tic-Tac-Toe board but you may not add any additional colors NOT on the board.

Hug - House-Mouse "Jelly Bean Thief"

This card was made for House-Mouse & Friend Monday Challenge #262 "Anything Goes" using Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge #445.  Picked up some Bo-Bunny design paper this past weekend and wanted to use for my first Easter Card and apparently House-Mouse found some jelly beans among the Easter eggs.  House-Mouse was colored with Copic sketch pens using a soft combination of grays and pastel jelly beans, layered with thin foam sheet, adhered on two oval stitched frames. In place of flowers in sketch chose to cut out some eggs from the design paper, layered with white cardstock, fussy-cut, adhered with 3D thin foam tape and used liquid glass on the nose and eggs for dimension.  One more cut of an egg from design sheet, layered, sentiment stamped on egg and adhered with 3D foam tape.

On the inside of the card added a border with the two design papers from Bo-Bunny.
