Winter Hello, Warm Wishes - Color Dare #425 partnering with Double Trouble

Here is my Design Team card for Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge #425 choosing at least three colors using the Inspirational Board and partnering with the Double Trouble Challenge #74 "Cuddle Up Day" and included Twisted Sister's optional twist "warm and cuddly critter".

One of our entrants (Niki1) for Double Trouble had a beautiful fun fold card in which she used Mary Deatherage's tutorial "side fold card".  The fold is so simple and it gives you the flexibility of a square card that is folded to an A2 size card and envelope... I love it.  Click here to see my other "side fold card".

First I followed the tutorial for my side fold card and background and gathered my stamps and dies.  Chose a critter that was dressed warm and cuddly in a sweater, scarf and hat for my optional twist with warm wishes sentiment and a sweater embossing folder for my background.  Colored the adorable penquin with a variety of colors from the Color Dare Inspiration Board using Sketch Copic alcohol based pens and then fussy-cut.  A set of trees were cut from evergreen cardstock attached to the background, and penguin added with some 3D thin foam tape for dimension.  Sentiments and bows were added.

Please pop over to ColorMyHeart Color Dare to see DT members' inspiration, along with other participants that have entered this challenge.

Color My Heart Color Dare challenges are carried forward for two weeks so if you didn't share your project the first week you still have another week to enter that challenge...current challenges are on the side bar of the Double Trouble challenge blog.

And don't forget to share your entry in celebration of "Cuddle Up Day" at Double Trouble Challenge #74.

Gnome for the Holidays

Got this Stamp Set just before the Pandemic and was going to use it for all my Christmas cards; however, the patterns on the hats, tree, presents and ornaments were all white space, and it's quite time consuming to fill in with the different patterns.  Decided to use the CTMH gnomes instead and use pattern paper for the background... so this special gnome card is for my favorite daughter and her family.  Although maybe after doing 35-40 cards I might have perfected the coloring... lol.

Once I did all my coloring it was pretty easy to finish my card.  In my stash there was a snowflake embossed piece which became my background layered with ruby cardstock.  A partial fussy-cut on my gnome image, also layered with ruby cardstock and adhered to background with 3D thin foam tape.  Stamped a sentiment first on the embossed background (which I messed up) so ended up re-stamping on cardstock, fussy-cut around words and adhered with 3D thin foam tape.

Spooky Cute - Double Trouble Challenge #69 partnering with The Paper Girls

Love the Bat Rainbow of Colors and decided to use them all.  Twisted Sister's optional twist was to use a cute image and an extra chance for random draw if you did not include a Bat... that was not difficult to exclude, but I did use a spooky spider.  Cut one of the design papers from Got Candy for the main background and another design paper for the circle layered with a black circle for a shadow.  Stamped, cut the image and sentiment on my Brother Scan and Cut, colored with a variety of Copic brush pens and then adhered both with 3D thin foam tape for dimension.  My last add was a candy sticker on top of the circle die cut.

Please go to Double Trouble for the detail of the challenge and enjoy the Things and Sneetches inspiration for this fun Challenge.  This challenge is open from Monday, October 19th through November 1st.

Select at least (3) colors, use Twisted Sister's optional twist to dress things up with a "cute image"; and don't go batty.  And as long as it's a Halloween card share with our partner at The Paper Girls.

Beauty is All Around - Double Trouble #55 partnering with ArtsyStamperDigitals

This is my DT card for Double Trouble Challenge #55 "Spring Things" Inspiration Clipart and partnering with ArtsyStamperDigital #14 "Springtime"From Spring Things Inspiration Clipart I chose (purple, green, yellow and blue) and two elements (flowers and dragonfly). Twisted Sister's optional twist "something related to water" were my dew drops on the Oxcalis flowers.

Printed three of the main floral, cut with Brother Scan and Cut, colored with Copic Sketch alcohol-base pens, fussy-cut and adhered 3D thin foam tape to several leaves/flowers to give them dimension. Selected a blue background paper and stamped the dragonfly on paper with Gypsy Ink. Cut and Colored a couple of the smaller flowers and adhered to corners. Sentiment was stamped with Gypsy Ink at the bottom of the card. Dew Drops were added and shimmer pen used on all the flowers, leaves and dragonfly.

To join us at Double Trouble all you need to do is select 3 elements from Thing 1's Inspiration Clipart to include in your project.

Then it's up to you whether you want to include Thing 3 Twisted Sister's optional twist., and to join with our partner for "Springtime" at ArtsyStamper Digital. Check out ArtsyStamper Shop for more floral digitals.

You're In My Heart - Double Trouble #54

Here is my DT Card for Double Trouble Challenge #54 "It's Hip to be a Square" and Twisted Sister's optional twist "use a stamp older than a year" and I am pairing it up with ArtsyStamper "Things With Wings".  I've had this die for quite some time and saw so many different uses and fantastic cards; now, it was my turn to create. Of course the cut was the easy part, adding the 3D foam tape, adhering to a background paper leaving an opening on top of the card to add the sequins.  That probably took a half hour or less; but it wasn't finished for another three hours...nothing seemed to go with my background paper and did so many different cuts and choice of an old stamp.  Wasn't really happy with it until I added some more dimension with liquid glass on the flowers and a sparkle on the butterflies and leave embellishments.  Done.

Please follow us on Double Trouble Challenge and receive notices of our new challenge on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month, and if there is a 5th Monday we run a special one week challenge "Something, Everything, Anything".

Happy Birthday - Double Trouble Challenge #53 - USING ALL WASHI TAPE

This is my Design Team card for Double Trouble Challenge #53 "SomeThing, AnyThing, EveryThing" using Twisted Sister's optional twist "bits and pieces of design paper, and/or washi tape for backgrounds".  Wow, my chance to use some of my washi tape that gets forgotten... so off to my washi tape storage.  Double Dare asks for you to make a card that would fit the requirement of a previous partner and I chose Crafting Happiness "Anything Goes".

My first attempt was to cover the whole background with the washi tape, but remembered I had seen a card that one of our entrants did whereby she covered her cardstock with washi tape and then die cut a frame.  So, I pulled out a dragonfly die and used my washi tape background.  Well, now I had to look for something for my background and I couldn't find a  nice match to the washi tape dragonfly.  I gave up and thought why not use the same washi tape and border both sides of the card base.  Still needed something so found a narrow washi tape and added to each side and placed my dragonfly in the middle.

On smaller white cardstock I put the other washi tape so that I could cut out a Happy Birthday sentiment. Added a gold gem to the center of the flower and scattered a few smaller gems on the front of the card.

I found the nice thing about using washi tape on your card base to create a background you didn't require adhesive tape or glue to adhere it...this turned out to be a pretty easy card once I decided what I was going to do with it.

Double Trouble Challenge #51 "Go Green" - HoHoHo

This is my DT card for our DoubleTrouble Challenge #51 "Go Green" with optional twist to use "something gold" and partnering with Heart2Heart "Putting Our Green On".  Rather than making a St. Paddy's Day card...decided to do a Christmas card.  This green plaid was in one of my paperpacks and wanted to use it for my background.  Stamped the tree in White Daisy and a Green Glitter and adhered with 3D thin foam tape to the background.  Stamped, die-cut and colored this adorable Rubbernecker Gnome and adhered with 3D foam tape in front of the Tree.  Added a candy cane, sentiment and a couple snowflakes in gold glitter to complete my first Christmas card this year.

Please visit us at Double Trouble for this fun challenge,
view the projects from other Design Team members and entrants
and hopes it gives you inspiration to create a project too.

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop - Have a Cup of Cheer

Exciting Change at the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop...
The seasonal Blog Hop is moving to an "Anything Goes" theme, however, you still need to include some sort of coffee, tea, cocoa or cider element or sentiment. How simple is that?

There are many super sponsors and there are no limits to the number of projects you enter. The more entries the better your chances for winning Coffee Lovers' random draw prizes. Click HERE to see the variety of sponsors and the gifts they are donating, and don't forget to look for Blog Candy along the way.

Day 4 - P.M. - 2019 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop (CLBH #539)

This stamp was a gift from last year's Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop from Unity Stamps and the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #341 was perfect. The wintery tree scene made a pretty window against the woodgrain paper. The coffee To Go cup and steam flourish was a great replacement for the floral in the jar. Added a sentiment, keeping with the warm turquois colors.

Don't forget to head back to Double Trouble's Challenge #42 "You Have Us in Stitches" to earn extra chances for our Blog Candy (give-aways). Although Double Trouble is not a sponsor in the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, we are giving away Blog Candy in addition to our usual random draw prize. To be eligible all you have to do is to make a comment on our challenge post (Click HERE) and tell us what your favorite Double Trouble Challenge has been or challenge you would like us to create. And...if you add a comment to our Design Team and Guest Designer blogs on Challenge #42 you will get additional chances to our Draw. We have lots of give-a-ways, the more participants, the more give-a-ways.
