Color Dare #580 - Use Only Pastel Colors"

This is my Design Team project for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #580 "Pastels Only"

Our family decided this year instead of exchanging gift certificates within our families we would donate Christmas 2023 to two families in need.  What a fun time we had in shopping for these two families (a Grandma with four children and a Mom with three children).

Since two of the children were interested in crafts, in addition to shopping, my idea was to make a Card Kit for each month of the new year for each crafter.

Of course it didn't stop there, I had lots of stuff in my stash, along with my daughter's stash, to make up a large shoe box for each which included many more images, embellishments and supplies for an addition 24 cards that they could make from scratch. I hope they enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making the Kits.

Assuming they are new crafters to cardmaking the first twelve cards were all cut, not assembled; but photos were taken to help them with the layout.  My DT card was the June Card Kit for a Birthday card.

This card was the January Card Kit for another Birthday card.  The image is left in black and white so that the crafter can color and hopefully use the soft and pastel colors, but their choice.

Again, all pieces cut, not assembled; but photo taken to help the crafter with the layout.

Happy Holidays - Color Dare #578

This is my Design Team project for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #578 "Featured Neutrals".  Have a deer stamp that I've used several times for Christmas cards; but using only neutrals was quite a challenge, but a fun challenge... I have used Toffee, Mink and Linen from the Color Board, along with Black & White.

Cut a window frame using woodgrain patterned paper (Linen/Mink), a center of frame using a Toffee patterned paper and a black striped patterned paper for the border of a mini slimline.  Adhered the black pattern to the card base, the woodgrain frame using 3D thin foam tape and adhered the toffee plash patterned paper in the center of window.

Die cut the deer which was a one piece die with cuts and scores giving detail to the adorable deer. Attached deer hoofs to the frame using 3D thin foam tape and other raised areas on the head for dimension.  The detail from the cut didn't seem to stand out enough... to accentuate the detail used Copic black multi-liner on all the scored areas, outline of deer, hoofs, nose and eyes. Used White Gelly-roll for hightlight in eyes.

Stamped sentiment using black on the frame. Felt there was still missing in the upper r-h corner of the frame... the deer had a jingle bells around his neck so stamped an image of a bow with jingle bells, fussy-cut, colored and adhered with 3D thin foam tape.

Using black ink on the inside of the card stamped same bow/bells image and words Jingle Bells in the bottom corner.   Photos show dimension on front of card and the inside corner image.

Please hop on over and join us at Color Dare's Color Board #578 and check out the Design Teams inspiration, and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.

DTC Challenge #155 - "Holiday 2023" with Partner "Use Your Stuff"

This is my Design Team project for Double Trouble Challenge #155 "Die-cember" collaborating with Use Your Stuff "Wrapping Up" with Ribbons and Bows".  To meet the ribbon and/or bow requirement my gnome image is holding a gift wrapped up with a ribbon and bow.

We were so sorry to learn that Use Your Stuff challenges will be closing the end of this year. Double Trouble had partnered a lot of fun challenges since 1918 and they will be missed.  Let's give them a big send off and enter a project for their last challenge and leave them a comment.

Following the tutorial for this Fun Fold Card... pieces were cut for the card base, frame and design papers. After adhering the design papers the smaller die was used to cut through the front of the card.

The gnome with gift was stamped on white cardstock two times using black ink... one was stamped on the scalloped circle, colored with Copic sketch pens and bordered with another scallop cut from sapphire cardstock. The second was fussy-cut (gift only), colored and adhered with 3D thin foam tape to the first image.

On the bottom inside of the card base stamped in black ink using the masking technique for the gnome and two mushrooms and on the far right two more mushrooms. Took to my Copic brush pens and colored using some of the same colors and many others.

On the front of the card the sentiment "Hello" was cut using the same stripe patterned paper as the front of card and bordered with sapphire cardstock and  lined up with the background pattern.  The gnome sentiment was added to the inside of the card base.

At Double Trouble Our Things 1, 2 and 3 sure bring on some wierd combinations but I like to challenge them all; however, you have the flexibility of doing just Thing 1 to used your favorite cutter and include at least one die cut on your project and be eligible for our random draw. Please hop on over and join us at Double Trouble to check out the Design Teams inspiration, and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.

For those that really like more of a challenge may want to include Twisted Sister's optional twist "Wrap It Up" and/or enter at Use Your Stuff, our partner for this challenge if you have met their requirement... you will be rewarded additional chances for the random draw. Please join us for this fun challenge
