For You - Color Dare #299 Tic Tac Toe "Fresh Air"

This card is my DT ColorMyHeart Color Dare #299 combined with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #270.  The AHSC sketch was turned upside down so that I could use the bow around my bouquet of whimsical flowers.  My colors from the TicTacToe board was the Diagonal Row: Juniper, New England Ivy and Glacier, Plus Nutmeg.

Hello - Color Dare #298

Love this color combination at ColorMyHeart Color Dare this week … my first thought was flowers but when I found this embossed floral background in my stash I thought it would make a nice backing for a butterfly die I hadn't yet used.  Started first with a die cut in Linen, then added a New England Ivy for the stem flair and shadow and cut one more die in Blossom for the butterflies.  I often do piecing of dies and The Outlawz Twisted Thursday "Paper Piecing" was another challenge this card could be entered in.

Please hop on by and see the inspiration the Design Team members have created and join us in this new color challenge #298 at Color Dare

AND DON'T FORGET Double Trouble is still partnering with Color Dare's Challenge #297 ... an opportunity to do the same color challenge as our Hair-do colors "Glacier, Sorbet and Nutmeg") and enter in both challenges.  Every once in awhile Twisted Sister will pop in with a special “TWIST”. Random Draw for prize "Bag of Things" after each Challenge. Hope you’ll decide to play along with the Double Trouble Challenges HERE.

For the inside of the card...chose another design paper from Paper Fundamentals, cut the one side with a die and added a strip of the New England Ivy along the border.

It's Your Day - H2H June - Week 3 "Copy Cat SE2"

Theme this week at Heart2Heart is "Copycat" choosing something from the CTMH Seasonal Expressions 2 and give it your own twist. My choice was a card on Page 40 using several design papers from the "Central Park" paper pack but the twist was using different combination of design papers and sticking with the layout. Added sentiment on bashful cardstock, stamped sentiment in Pacifica ink and cut the stitched circle from the design paper. It made it easy to copy a design, and the card didn't take that long to create.

Hop on by for this week's theme "Copy Cat" to see inspirations from the Design Team. If you don't have a CTMH SE2 you can use any of the designs created by the Design Team. We invite you to showcase your favorite project...you have until the end of the month to create and submit. Earn a Perfect Attendance Badge if you create a card for each weekly theme during that month...to view these challenges they are listed on the sidebar at the top of the Blog.

On the inside of the card just added a border strip of Bashful, the light and dark.

Thank You - Double Trouble Challenge #3

Double Trouble - Challenge #3:  Thing 1 and Thing 2 decided to take a trip to the Beauty Parlor and get a new "do"...and color it was.  We also convinced Twisted Sister in changing her "do" so that we could partner with ColorMyHeart Color Dare #297, and she added an optional twist "String Thing" (twine, ribbon, hemp, leather, etc.) keeping within the color challenge.

Looked through my CTMH Paper Fundamentals and found both the Sorbet and the Glacier colors had the same design papers. Cut the background of each to match up the floral design diagonally, added "String Things" by adhering a brown ribbon across the diagonal.

Fussy-cut the same flower from the opposite colors, distressed with matching ink and adhered the flowers with thin foam sheet. The die sentiment was cut in two colors with the brown as a shadow behind the glacier color. Finished it off with Wink of Stella on the flowers, and liquid glass on each of the small berries on the design paper.

Double Trouble says if you have closely matched up "All and Only" these colors, black and white is always free to use but please Do Not add extra colors.  These are CTMH color references, but you are welcome to use any products.

To enter your artwork go to ColorMyHeart Color Dare #297.

All Occasion Card - Color Dare #297

This is my Design Team card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #297, striking color combination for sure.  Quite some time ago I bought Gina K's "Floral" stencil and thought this would be a great CAS card.  However, when sponging the colors I was a little careless in sponging and stamping the paint splatters on my card base,  so I did a second stencil sponging on just the leaves.

After analyzing, and not wanting to risk another careless stamping I decided to fussy-cut both the flowers from the one stencil and the leaves from the other.  Then I took a card base and stamped paint splatters with the three colors and distressed with nutmeg and sorbet, adhered the leaves directly to the paint splattered background, adhered the flowers with thin foam paper and added some Wink of Stella on the Flower.  Once again a CAS card turned into a layered card... but I was happy with it.

Please stop by and view the DT's inspiration for this challenge. Please join us...we would love to see the projects you create. This Color Dare Challenge will be open for (2) weeks AND you still have time to enter in our previous Color Dare #296 Click Here.

On the inside of the card along the border stamped more of the paint splatters.

Sneak Peek at Double Trouble Challenge 3 starts on Monday, June 18th. See what trouble you can get into and meet Trouble Maker, Twisted Sister and the Double Dare will be pairing up with the ColorMyHeart Color Dare #297... guarantee you a fun new challenge.

Happy Birthday - H2H June 2nd Wk

My DT card for Heart2Heart "Father Knows Best".  This week we are turning our attention to the most influential men in our lives.....our Dads who have influenced so many aspects of our lives. Join us to show off your great projects that are all about Dad!

CTMH Fresh Air Design Papers were great for a masculine card and just did a simple layout with colors my Dad liked and placed them on the wooden background.  Added a sentiment and dotted the "I" with a sequin and added three other sequins in the upper right-hand corner.  My Dad for many years wore greens and browns, but later on in years one birthday we bought him jeans with a blue shirt...and from that day forward he included jeans and blues in his closet.

Happy Birthday - Color Dare #296

This is my DT card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #296.  Stamped the house-mouse on Toffee paper usng black ink for the house mouse, pomegranate for the strawberry, and then water-brushed with CTMH inks...the mouse with Toffee, Strawberry with Pomegranate and juniper along the grass lines and strawberry leaves.  Wasn't happy with it so re-stamped with VersaMark (good thing it was still lined up in my Misti) and heat embossed in white.  Still not happy so took to the water-brush again and added more color.

House mouse stamped image was cut using a rectangle stitched die and another stitched rectangle in the next size up for a frame.  The background was dry embossed with a wood slat embossing folder and layered with two more frames.  Sentiment added to the paint stroke die cut.

Thank You - Double Trouble Challenge #2

Join us this week at DOUBLE TROUBLE Thing 1 challenges you to "DO NOT Use Patterned or Design Papers", and Twisted Sister wants you to use a die so that you are able to combine this challenge to our Thing 2 which will be pairing up with Three Amigos BlogHop Challenge #15.

Remember Thing 2 and Thing 3 are always optional, however, if you submit your project to both challenges you will get an extra chance to win the random draw for a Bag of Things.  It's your choice.

Off to my stash...chose a floral image previously colored at a Copic class.  Now off to my background techniques...found this yellow background which was an excellent match to the yellow in the floral (see tutorial for this technique under products used).  My cardstock was chosen to pull in another color from the image and decided on Lagoon for the outline panels. Okay, Double Trouble "Thing 1" challenge was completed.

Off to my dies...cut both the smaller and larger panel with a stitched border die, and this met the requirement for the Three Amigos BlogHop Challenge "Thing 2" for submission.

The floral panel was fussy-cut around the tallest flower, placed on the outline panels, and then adhered to the background with thin foam sheet for dimension. Decided to use another die for my sentiment in the Lagoon color so as not to cover the pretty floral.

On the inside of the card I used the scraps from my border die cuts, the floral image was a printed copy of the photo taken of my copic coloring and placed in the corner.  It's totally satisfying when you use scraps for inside of card, they look so much better than in a waste basket.

There's Nobunny Like You - H2H June Week 1

Welcome to the first week's challenge for June at Heart2HeartHello and welcome to another week and another awesome challenge from Heart 2 Heart.  This weeks theme is Banner Day and is all about banners. I love a good banner on my projects.

Decided to use one of  Di's digitals printed back awhile ago in my stash and just waiting to be colored for a cute birthday card with cupcake banners.  Decided to use my copic pens and training from classes, and this is what I came up with.  My neighbor and I both attend classes for copic coloring, and she saw my card and said "this is the best coloring she's seen of my work" and my smile went big.
