Buddy Post Coffee Loving Cardmakers with Paper Smooches

My daughter (aka Lisa Bzibziak) asked me and my friend, neighbor and member of our Little Crop Group (Melanie Richards) if we wanted to participate as Buddies for the Coffee Loving Cardmakers with our focus on using a sketch and products from Paper Smooches.  And an extra plus, I was able to combine with the Three Amigos last Challenge "Inspiration Board".

Our job was to select a sketch from Paper Smooches. So off to the internet...looking up some of the oldest sketches and found this Sparks Challenge from July 2011. Interesting concept whereby each month you were given (10) sketches and/or a color combo of (12) choices. We chose the first sketch and the next morning we went off to a crop together at my daughter's...what a fun time, lunch at Lisa's home and ended with dinner at Red Lobster.

This card has also been shared with Double Trouble "SomeThing, AnyThing, EveryThing" Challenge #34 using our Twisted Sister's Optional Twist "Sunshine" - Please check us out - you probably already have something you have created that will fit this challenge...come aboard with Thing 1, 2 and 3...we would love your participation.

Lisa - Life of a BZScrapper
and Sue (That's Me) - I Luv Scrapping Too

I knew the dies and stamps I was going to use and of course what my layout would be but it took me a long time to put them together.  Colored the sun/cloud stamp and the cup with Copic Sketch pens...that was the easy part.

Gemini was kept pretty busy...cut several Paper Smooches "House Plants" in many different design papers and placed them against some very plain background papers. It wasn't until I came across a cute cloud background that I could see my card coming together. Again, there was a lot of switching around the different patterned House Plants previously cut but finally saw that background was an excellent choice. It was time for our trip to Red Lobster so my card was finished at home.

At home, cut out one more "House Plant" and it was the one that made it pop, adhered to the background with the last cut placed with flower and leave edges curled for dimension.

The larger cloud was adhered directly to the background and the cloud/sun was layered and adhered with 3D thin foam tape.  The little birdie and sentiment were final adds to my card.

Double Trouble Challenge #34 - SomeThing AnyThing and EveryThing

This is my DT card for Double Trouble #34 "Something Anything and Everything" including Twisted Sister's optional twist of Sunshine and using the Try Stampin' on Tuesday's Sketch No. 418.

Paper Smooches has an adorable Sunshine Cup die.  Many cuts of this die were made in a variety of design papers from Magical.  After arranging the many papers I finally got the recipe I wanted for a bright sunny day...did a lot of layering with the extra pieces...magical.  Can't get much better than to get up in the morning, throw on some flip flops and take a cup of coffee out on the patio.

"Grab your Stuff" and join us at Double Trouble

THING 1: Trouble Maker

I Woof You - Color Dare #353

My DT Card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #353 "Purples + 2 Neutrals" using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #326.  Used one of the other images on the Coloring Page from our local Scrapbook Store (The Paper Collage) and colored using a couple of purples shades for the flowers, cheeks and ears, and the puppy was a variety of greys with white spots. Didn't have a circular die with me so stenciled out and fussy cut circle and one of the flowers and popped up for a dimension.

The background paper was cut to appear as a diagonal stripe.  Die cut the two scalloped borders, adhered to background paper and added a white/purple layered strip to stamp on the sentiment.

We Are Never Alone - Color Dare #352

This Summer, at a Crop in Buffalo, one of the girls (Patti Dole) was looking for something to do, handed her this Girl die, gave her a choice of one of the future color challenges and she decided to use Challenge #352 and then supplied her with papers and cardstock with the required colors. She was off to creating and didn't see it until it was completed.

Patti thought it would save me from having to make a card for that week, but told her I couldn't take credit for it but would enter it in the challenge for her through Pinterest or a post on my Blog....so here it is...and what a cutie.

This is Patti's first challenge project she has ever created and maybe next Summer I can get her into entering other challenges...she's a tough one to encourage, but she did such a great job.  Please comment on this post and I will share these comments with Patti.

Enjoy Your Special Day - Color Dare #352

This is my DT card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare "Love of Color" Challenge #352 using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge ##325.  I've had this die for quite some time and a color challenge is ideal and very flexible for using a variety of colors and designs for each of the pieces. There is one die to cut all the pieces as one and I use those for layering and then use little scraps in the different colors and designs and just cut over the part that is needed.  It was fun putting it together and giving it lots of dimension using 3D Thin foam tape.  Die-cut two balloons and placed them with foam tape in the middle, glued to the sides to the background for rounding, added nail decorating tape around the bottom of the balloon and balloon and adhered the string down on each side.   Added the sentiment at the bottom to satisfy any occasion for someone's special day.

This Summer at a Crop in Buffalo, one of the girls was looking for something to do and I gave her this Girl die and gave her a choice of one of the future color challenges and she decided to use Challenge #352. I told her when that challenge came due I would enter it in the challenge for her through a post on my Blog. Go HERE to see my friend, Patti Dole's, card

Double Trouble Challenge #33 - Kid/Baby Project Partnering with Crafter's Cafe "Animal"

Here is my DT card for Double Trouble #33 "Kid/Baby", using Twisted Sister's optional twist "Animals" and sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge #416.

Chose to make my card with no sentiment so that it could be used as any occasion card by leaving the inside open for a sentiment and personal note. We were invited to be Guest Designers for Crafter's Cafe Challenge "Animal & ATC" and we were delighted to participate. We were provided digital images from their sponsors and I chose "Baby Animals" from Eureka Stamps. If you include animals in your Kids and Babies project you can enter into Crafter's Cafe Challenge #223 "Animals and ATC".

Printed (4) of the same size images so that I could layer each baby animal on the champagne panel...one extra image if I messed up on coloring any of the babies, and I did...lol.

CTMH Georgia, a favorite baby paperpack of mine, was used for the scalloped die-cut background panels and then adhered all the layers of the babies with 3D thin foam tape for dimension. Wasn't sure what I was going to do to finish off the corners in the sketch but when looking through the complement package with paperpack these little bunnies beckoned me to use them.

Double Trouble Challenge #33:  Check out the DT and other entrants for inspiration at Double Trouble. If you have created a "Kids & Babies" project you have already met the requirement for entry in this challenge.  If your choice is to combine with another challenge use Twisted Sister's optional twist of a monkey or zoo animal and you are eligible to also enter the Crafter's Cafe Challenge "Animals".

Just Because - Color Dare #351

This is my DT card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #351 TicTacToe using "Craft On" color palette (Row 3: Pansy, Emerald, Pixie + Thistle) and used the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #324.

Since Hibiscus is one of my favorite flowers I chose to use the same as in the sketch using Pansy and Pixie as my colors with a background of Emerald.  There was a Cricut Cut that I had used before and a good match for this sketch.  Added a bow to the tag and chose a sentiment that can be applied to many occasions.

BOOM! Create Your Own Magic - Color Dare #350

A fairly CAS card...
Overlap Stamping (aka Triple Stamping) but using only two layers of cardstock I stamped several Dandelions with many of the colors from the Inspiration Photo to look like a grand finale at a fireworks display, and the sentiment "Boom" was perfect and magical.
