Grateful - Color Dare #359

Chose to create a coffee, tea or cocoa theme at the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Caffeine Fueled Paper Play as a tribute to Craftin' Desert Diva's who have contributed, shared and sponsored so many adorable stamps and digitals.  All you have to do is pull out your favorite Craftin’ Desert Divas stamp or digital image and use a coffee, tea or cocoa theme and play along!

The three colors I chose were Goldrush, New England Ivy and Sage + Peach and Neutral Brown. My background was design paper from "Cats & Bats", the scalloped border was design paper from "Hawthorne" and both were layered with NE Ivy cardstock. A ribbon was added down the middle of the card.

Started with a White Scalloped frame, stamped leaves with black ink on NE Ivy cardstock, a couple of design papers and adhered leaves with 3D thin foam tape for dimension.  Found some acorns in my stash and added them to the bottom of the leaves.

I chose the Craftin' Desert Diva's digital squirrel garden image, colored with copics and placed in the pile of leaves...which pretty much covered my frame. Die cut a coffee cup from Paper Smooches with a piece of the PML image from the paper pack to include the heart and placed so the bee appeared as the coffee steam.  Grateful die sentiment was cut from chocolate cardstock, layered and adhered to bottom r-h corner.

Candy Corn is a Vegetable, Right? - Double Trouble Challenge #37

This is my interactive DT card  for Double Trouble's Challenge #37 "Make Like a Tree and Leave" using the Atlantic Hearts Challenge #332 (turned landscape), adding S'more fun with Twisted Sister's "Fall Sweet Treat" and entered in The Paper Girls Challenge #183  "Falling in Love", our partner for this Challenge.

What movie was this phrase used in "Make Like a Tree and Leave".  Hint given in this post will direct you to the answer, and if you add the movie name in my comments you will be eligible for a special random draw gift from me.

I had so much fun putting this card together...already decided what I was going to use for my sweet treat and sentiment and design papers with trees and leaves.  Now all I had to do was put it all together...the challenging part.

The card may be a little busy; but after all it's a Corn Maze nearby a forest of Fall colors.

The corn stalks were cut using the striped pattern so that it would fade into the forest background. Used the same stripe for my other two panels and layered with another design paper. The cute candy corn was cut from Colonial White cardstock, colored with copic brush pens using orange, yellow and neutrals to mute the colors to match the background.

Three candy corns staggered and hand-printed speech bubble with corny sentiment were adhered to square panel. Additional candy corns were added on bottom right-hand corner. I went to bed knowing that I had completed my card; however the next morning another idea sparked ... adding a pull tag with a sentiment. Found a "corn maze" stamp in my stash, perfect, and decided to use Happy Halloween as the main sentiment. Pull out the corn candy on the bottom right-hand side and you have successfully completed the Corn Maze with sentiment

I was still contemplating whether to change my corn stalks and cut a couple strips in plain colors but didn't work for me...I liked the transition of the corn stalks against the background forest of trees and hope you do too.  The balance of the Fall background was added to the bottom of the inside.

Double Trouble Challenge #34 - SomeThing AnyThing and EveryThing

This is my DT card for Double Trouble #34 "Something Anything and Everything" including Twisted Sister's optional twist of Sunshine and using the Try Stampin' on Tuesday's Sketch No. 418.

Paper Smooches has an adorable Sunshine Cup die.  Many cuts of this die were made in a variety of design papers from Magical.  After arranging the many papers I finally got the recipe I wanted for a bright sunny day...did a lot of layering with the extra pieces...magical.  Can't get much better than to get up in the morning, throw on some flip flops and take a cup of coffee out on the patio.

"Grab your Stuff" and join us at Double Trouble

Hoppy Easter "You are Somebunny Special" Color Dare #339

This bunny image was from one of my Copic Classes; however, instead of using the card kit I decided to do my own card design and change some of the colors to meet the ColorMyHeart Color Dare TicTacToe Challenge #339.  I chose a tutorial "How to make a flip/swing card" by The Frugal Crafter by Lindsay Weirich.  These colors were perfect for a Easter card.

A variety of Copic Sketch Brush Pens were used for the bunny image...the pants were thistle with polka dots using Row 1 colors: Fern/Raspberry/Carolina and the bunny using Gray Neutrals, Sugarplum on the paws and Carolina for the eyes.

There was a lot of layering and piecing of all the florals using the same colors, adding pearls to the center and then randomly placed white Nuvo drops around the florals and the bunny oval frame on the inside.  Two great sentiments were added to finish the card.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #312:  Maybe a little out of the box; but I think the front and inside both take on this sketch challenge.

Please stop by and view the DT's inspiration for the Color Dare's TicTacToe Mix-up Spring/Easter Inspirational Board and join us...we would love to see the projects you create. This Color Dare Challenge will be open for (2) weeks. Please make sure you use only the colors that are on the Board and use neutrals as identified for each challenge...this weeks challenge "all" neutrals free.

I'm Lucky to Know You - Double Trouble Challenge #23 "Wearing of the Green" with Heart2Heart

This is my DT card for Double Trouble Challenge #23 "Wearin' O' the Green"  and partnering with Heart2Heart "St Patty's Day".  In my stash there was a House Mouse standing in a field of clovers so took out my copic alcohol-based brush pens and started coloring.  The greens for the clovers were matched up to the background paper, colored the four-leaf clover gold and used a pop of red in the small buds.  Stamped and heat embossed the sentiment gold, colored a clover and bud from a second stamped image, fussy-cut and adhered to the back of the sentiment.

Please join us at Double Trouble and Heart2Heart and create your interpretation of the following requirements:

THING 1: Trouble Maker
says, "Let's celebrate St. Patrick's Day with the Wearin' O' the Green!" Dress up your project with green as the primary color. It does not have to be a St. Paddy's Day card... celebrate any occasion.

THING 3: Twisted Sister
Include a "golden touch" on your project for an added chance at our random draw.

THING 2: Double Dare
says, "I'm proud of my Irish heritage and double dare you to play along by linking your green project at Heart2Heart.
Even though the H2H challenge is open until the end of the month; the Double Trouble challenge closes March 17th, so please post before the end of the month for more chances to win the random draw.

Don't forget to look for the golden shamrock in Secret Sister's Blog and when you find it make sure you leave a special comment and tell us where the shamrock was found in her blog to be eligible for the special prize.
