My DT Card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare 292 ... Because the colors in this challenge are so soft it shouted out a Baby card. Picked out a background die that hadn't been used yet because the cut never went deep enough but thought my experience with cutting dies was improved ... wrong. So it isn't me, it's the die; however, decided to work with it. Where the die cut through perfectly those pieces were removed and where the die cut through partially 3D thin foam tape was applied at the tip of each wave and adhered the background on the sides and in the middle, with Bashful cardstock, so that the foam taped waves stuck out. Pleased with the background, now what.
Going through my stash there was an adorable cake which was beckoning to be colored and perfect for a first Birthday. Colored with copic pens (using the colors in the challenge), cut two scalloped hexagon dies to pull in the yellow and pink from the cake and adhered cake using 3D thin foam tape for dimension. The sentiment die was cut three times and layered before applying to the card.
Please stop by and view the DT's inspiration for these challenges ... and would love to see what projects you will create. The Color Dare Challenge will be open for (2) weeks...AND you still have time to enter in our Color Dare #291 Click Here.
The inside of the card was another scrap in my stash and the right color, so just added the party music notes to the inside of the card and left rest of inside for a special note.

Wow, Sue, great card! I was thinking baby card with this color combo too. Popping up the partially die cut ends is a great idea! Love that you’re using up pieces from your stash too! I feel inspired to do the same now.
This is a great card! I love the waves...it makes me think of the sides of a frosted cake. Very pretty!
I like the like pink you have used for the Verve May Challenge - super layout!
I’m not sure I understand what happened with the dies but it sure is an interesting background! There is so much texture there. Love the different cake and the colours stand out terrific against the white. Super card!
YOur card is very pretty! Unique design.
I often wonder about a few of my dies as
well. I mark which ones gives me trouble,
tape them down (washi) good and cut them
several times at different spots on the
cutting plates (I think they are too worn
in spots for the more intricate dies so
cutting in different spots seems to work
fairly well, but not always 100%).
Oh, this is so pretty! Love all that texture. Thanks for sharing your pretty in pink creation with us!

Thank you, Donna Just wondering if you had problems with the cut too? The die didn't cut all the way through, but I used it anyway and where it cut through I added some 3d foam tape and glued down the part that didn't cut through.
