This is my Design Team card for Double Trouble Challenge No. 93 Something, Anything, Everything (aka Anything Goes) with and Twisted Sister's optional twist to include "Fall Harvest Item".
At our Little Group Crop today we were working with Gel Press backgrounds and I chose to do woodgrain and plaid for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #439 and also meet the requirement of Heart2Hearts "Be Creative with Cardstock" using the colors in ColorMyHeart Color Dare "TicTacToe". Since I used copic oil base pens and acrylic paints my colors are closest to the TicTacToe palette.
Thing 3: Twisted Sister says, "It's the season of Harvest and I know Trouble Maker is eager to bite into a crispy apple. As for me, I'd rather bite into a warm apple pie. Let's make a fall project and include your favorite Fall Harvest item(s), e.g. pies, apples, pears, pumpkins, gourds, pomegranates, Indian corn, grains, scarecrows, etc.
The Gel Press backgrounds you really don't know what you're going to get with the different layers and materials you work with. My daughter's eyes were rolling a bit and I required a little more time then she probably wanted to give me; but she held her patience with my frustrations. But at the end I came up with the two designs I needed and were happy with them.
I tackled the woodgrain first... acrylic paint colors used were close to Mink, Tangerine, Toffee, Shortbread, Black & White acrylic paint using a woodgrain stencil until I got the texture and color I wanted. Next the plaid... colors used were close to Harbour, Mink, Toffee, Shortbread, Black and White acrylic paint and using a plaid stamp until I got the texture and color I wanted. The plaid had some smudging due to layers of colors so I wasn't sure I was happy with the plaid but it looked rustic. My daughter encouraged me and said they were perfect. So, I had the pieces I needed for the AHSC but would have to wait until I got home to bring my card all together.
The circle for the sentiment was cut in two different sizes, using Toffee with a frame of Harbour. Had already cut out some pussy willows from a die in an assortment of colors, but just layered them for dimension with the the Shortbread color on top. and a peek-a-boo of Paprika. Stamped pumpkin row and colored with Copic Sketch Pens (alcohol-base) using colors as close to Paprika, Payaya and Harbour and adhered at the bottom of the pussy willows. Stamped sentiment in Sapphire (closest color to Harbour) and added the gold sequins.

I love your card, Suzanne! I would like to CASE it and play with you trouble makers again.
I enjoyed creating Gelli press backgrounds at our crop - it was messy but fun. I especially liked seeing you create your designs for this card. Your card is unique but clever - the effort was worth it.
Love the papers you chose and the pumpkins are so perfect for autumn!
Beautiful backgrounds and great pumkins

Kampin' Karen, Of course you can CASE it, it's quite a compliment to me especially since I was experimenting with the gel press techniques for my personalized design prints on cardstock.
Love both of your gel press backgrounds! Great card!
Thanks for sharing with us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

Great job combining all those challenges. The gel press backgrounds are really neat, so much fun to make (even though I always end up with a mess!) Fantastic fall card!
This turned out so beautifully! And love the sketch! I really need to get my gelli plate back out, it's been a long time since I last used it!
Fantastic papers you created with the gel press! Thank you for sharing with us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.
Fabulous card Suzanne. I’m sure the gel plate takes quite a bit of getting used to. I’m can never decide if I should get one or not! X

Wow! What a stunner-I love that you created your own paper with a gel press. I agree with your daughter--the paper you made is perfect. But I know that I need my family to let me know that they appreciate my cards. Thanks for playing with us at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.
