This is my Design Team project for Double Trouble #145 "Scrapper's GORP" using Twisted Sister's optional twist to create a card using Try Stampin' on Tuesday's Sketch challenge #620. Choosing a Scarecrow stamp set was perfect for piecing my GORP and CTMH paperpack "Cozy Up" was ColorMyHeart Color Dare TicTacToe Board #561 with a good selection of colors and patterned papers.
The Scarecrow was first stamped on White Daisy cardstock for layering the different patterns of design papers. Several of the design papers were stamped with the Scarecrow stamp and then fussy cut the different pieces of clothing for layering with 3D thin foam tape. I probably spent more time on deciding the combination of where the pieces were being placed. Additionally the paperpack did not include a small floral so had to go through my stash to find a small floral with colors that matched the board... I was successful.
The face and hair were colored with Copic pens and I tried to make the face look like burlap by using brown, honey butter and Shortbread and then lightening with colorless blender. I needed to get some green in the image to complete a row or column, so the straw was colored with a light green (either Sage and/or Rosemary) which then completed either Row 1 or Col 3. Pieces were placed with 3d thin foam tape for dimension and set aside until the background was completed.
I also chose to use the patterned papers for more GORP... the background with a plaid, a checker and a polka-dot all bordered with Honey Butter. A circle sentiment was cut from Mocha and adhered to the smaller panel, with another sentiment stamped in the bottom right-hand corner.
Please hop on over and join us at Double Trouble. Check out the Design Teams inspiration, and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.
Also, stop on by at Try Stampin' on Tuesday to see how their Design Team has incoporated our challenge with their Sketch and have been inspired with how some used our "Scrapper's GORP" in their projects.

Paper piecing is such a time-consuming job - this is super cute with the different patterns :)
Suzanne, what an adorable little scarecrow! I REALLY love how you paper pieced him together using so many different patterns of paper!! Your interpretation of the TSOT sketch is so clever, too!!! -Donna
