Color Dare #508 "Six Pack"

This is my Design Team Card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #508 "Six Pack" using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #484. If you're like me when new catalogs come out you have to have that stamp. There are so many stamp sets in my stash that have not been used.  So I'm turning over a new leaf to use them, at least until the next catalog comes out...lol.  This sketch told me I should make a CAS card and I believe I accomplished that.

Rather than using the White Daisy cardstock the French Vanilla was a good choice for the three colors selected (Sangria, New England Ivy and Avocado) and using closest to those colors.  The branch was stamped using New England Ivy, two times moving the stamp slightly and stamping same image with Pear (closest to Avocado).  The bottom pine needles were fussy-cut and rest of panel squared to give spacing for the zip strips on top and bottom as in the sketch.

The bird was stamped lightly with black ink and then stamped two times over the image with Scarlet (closes to Sangria).  Stamped a sentiment in New England Ivy, some dots in Scarlet and adhered to a panel of Scarlet with 3D thin foam tape.

Also sent to the following Challenges:

     Zip Strip from "Spruced Up"

I love that you've challenged yourself to use older stamp sets. I have been organising all my stamp sets into Evernote so I can use older stamp sets more often too... I have so many it seems wasteful to only use bright shiny new toys when I have a room full of old toys wanting to be used too! Great card.

Such a cute card Suzanne. I’m a shocker for buying stash and never using it! I really like your robin and branch stamp though. X

I agree with you, I also have the same syndrome..got have the new and I'm trying very hard to shop my stash this year. I've done a good job of it so far. This is a lovely image that's so versatile. Thanks for sharing with us at The Inspiration Station Challenge!

Oh my gosh, I laughed when I read how you are turning over a new leaf, but then added "at least until the next catalog comes out." I have the same problem! Great job combining the color and sketch challenges, love the CAS design. Thanks for playing along at Krafty Chicks too!
