Here is my DT Card for Double Trouble Challenge #104 "Hoodie-Hoo! Hoodie-Hoo!" a Spring theme" with a sneak peek using the design papers from CTMH "In Full Bloom". Twisted Sister's optional twist is to create a fun fold partnering with Creative Creases #26 "Anything Goes Fun Fold". In my stash I have precut fun fold card bases and thought the Reverse Explosion Card was the perfect fold to complement this floral paper.
Figuring out how to fold the Reverse Explosion Card was a little confusing but once you got that figured out the cuts were easy. The finished fold is a 5" x 5" square. The Avocado layer for the florals were cut 1/8 inch less than the card base and the floral design paper was cut 1/8" less than the Avocado layer. The layering added bulk and needed something for closure that would not hide the beautiful floral focal point.
Mel, my friend and neighbor, saved me again. Since I had layered the flower pedals for dimension a belly band was out of the question. I needed some thin ribbon to attach around each side of the flower. Looked through my small stash of ribbons... nothing. So off to my neighbor's large stash of ribbons. She provided me with several ribbons and the one selected was perfect.
Here are additional photos showing closer view of the pretty floral and dimension in the flower pedals and butterfly using 3D thin foam tape. The sentiment was stamped and layered with the striped patterned paper and adhered across the top of the focal point. The other two photos show the card open for display. The back of the fold card base is blank and can be used for personal sentiments to recipient.
