Love - H2H "Sketch" Feb 2018 Wk#1

At a Craft Show a couple months ago I saw window boxes that had beautiful three dimensional pictures made from layers and layers of the same image and wanted to try this technique.  Perfect for this technique was The Outlawz Progressive Challenge for Beccy's Place "Wild Rose", a freebie image for the month of February.

Printed several copies of the pre-colored image, cut one of them with a scalloped circle die and fussy cut many different flowers and leaves for layering. The number of layers depended upon how I perceived each flower and leaf in the foreground or background.

The DT project for this week at Heart2Heart is a "Sketch Challenge" of your choice.  I chose to use a pattern from Make It From Your Heart - Vol 4, Pattern 23, a CAS sketch, that showed off my "Wild Rose".  You have all month to create and submit. Check out each of the future February challenges and earn a badge for Perfect Attendance if you create a card for each weekly theme during that month.

Chose a pink watercolored design paper for my background, added the zip strips, adhered the "Wild Rose" floral with thin 3D thin foam and shadowed the back using Charcoal cardstock. Die cut a bow and sentiment, layered and adhered to card.

One of the cuts from the image was added to the corner of the inside of the card.

Had so much fun experimenting with paper layering and didn't use a tutorial just observation from a Craft Show I attended and what beautiful pieces were created in large frames.  Still curious what they call this technique, today I went to YouTube and found this Dimensional Paper Layering Art tutorial...so my next project is to find a roadrunner photo or design paper and start my fussy-cutting and layering but in a frame.

Oh my, what a lot of patience this technique would take, but the results are spectacular! It reminds me of paper tole art in some ways. You've shown skill in colouring in your images, too! Thanks for joining us, Sue, at As You See It Challenge.

This design is stunning. I love how the flowers just pop off of the card base. Thank you for playing along this week at Tic Tac Toe challenge.

What a very pretty colour combination. I like the shadowy grey scallop in behind. Of course, your very patiently crafted layered bouquet is the absolute showpiece. It definitely reminds me of paper tole, which I'd never considered for card making before. Thanks for joining us at As You See It this week.

But, I will repeat that I really love all the gorgeous layers you added to make this really stunning! It's always okay to post your card in as many challenges as it fits into. Good thinking!

Gorgeous, Suzanne! So much dimension and I can see that there was a lot of fussy cutting involved. Your papers are so complimentary to the image and I love how you offset the scalloped layers a bit!! Beautifully done!!
