Love Poinsettias...while on a break from a Copic Class this past weekend at our local Scrapbook Store, what do you do? Of course look for something you need. Since the color challenge had Ruby this was a necessary purchase for my Design Team Card, and the greens sufficed for the leaves and a Holly die purchased a couple weeks ago in preparation for Christmas cards (another necessary purchase). And what a great sketch to display my new dies.
The background was a design paper from Zoe using sweet leaf, which took on the look of the sketch background. Cut the poinsettias, distressed edges and stenciled with ruby ink, and did the same for the leaves in juniper ink. Cut the Holly and cut off some of the stems so they could be placed around the sentiment panel in place of a doily. The dots were a cut from the center of the poinsettia which was cut in ruby, placed randomly on the holly leaves, inside and outside of the card.
Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge #258: We are challenging you to using CTMH Challenge "Jack" Paper Pack (All and Only) Colors: Juniper, Ruby, Slate, Sweet Leaf, Whisper, White Daisy and Black.
If you don’t have these CTMH colors you may substitute similar colors. Hop on by and see the many inspirational cards by our DT and other entrants. See below for Announcement for next month's color challenges
CTMH colors were used in combination to the Tuesday Morning Sketches #417
and theme from Camp Create Day 5: Delightful Die Cutting
Since this was an All and Only, I wasn't sure how I was going to bring in the whisper and slate on this card, but going through my CTMH embellishments there was a set of "Licorice gems" which had these two shades of gray.
The left over holly leaves were used on the inside of the card as a border and more poinsettia dies cut in ruby.
