Be Yourself - Vintage Card

Wrapping Up May at Heart2Heart "Vintage", and putting it through to Between The Folds Challenge 22B "CTMH Thick Twine."  I didn't have any CTMH Twine but had in my stash a twine and used that, along with CTMH retired design paperpak.  Don't know the name of the paperpak but if there is anyone who can tell me the name, please let me know...it's definitely CTMH because it's identified on the back side. Thanks to Katrina and Alysson I was able to get the name of the paperpak "Free Spirit" from somehwere around 2007.

I don't believe I have ever made a vintage card...so this is out of my comfort zone.  However , as vintage as I am you'd think I would be familiar with vintage...but no off to Pinterest to check out vintage. Next went through my older CTMH stash (thanks to my daughter's hand-me downs) to find some appropriate paper I could use.  Then all I had to do was rough and tare edges.  I had recently bought a tablet of design papers "Graphic 45" and cut out of the squares with a vintage look, and then roughed the edges and scratched off some of the color to make it look vintage as well.

Finished it off with a button I had that appeared vintage, and added the off white twine / ribbon, and made a small bow through the center of the button. Once I had all my pieces together, this card was fast and I am pleased with my first vintage card.

Great card, Sue! Ok, after much searching.....ok, a little searching... ;) hee hee, I believe that CTMH paper is from Free Spirit collection. I think it might go back to 2007. It was one of my favs!

Because I got to see this card up close, I have to say, I love the vintage look! And that twine braid and button are perfect. Great card, Sue.

Katrina beat me to it - and she is correct - it is the old Free Spirit paper pack! Goes back several years, to around 2007 or a little after that. And you are NOT vintage :) But the card is a great example of vintage style - roughed up edges, torn pieces and a terrific button to top it all off! Well done to create a musty looking, old vintage card - but definitely not your normal style :)

Your card is really beautiful! Isn't it fun to stretch a little and create outside of your usual "box"? You did an awesome job with the vintage style. Thanks for sharing at Heart 2 Heart!
