Card Trick Quilt - Warm Wishes

This card was made for the Heart2Heart Challenge "Poppy Color Challenge" and the inspiration for this card came from viewing quilting patterns after a friend posted quilts in a Facebook Group.   This particular pattern is called "Card Trick," which seemed like such an appropriate name for my Quilt Card.

Heart2 Heart "Poppy Color Challenge" - September 1, 2015
This week's challenge is a Color Challenge and we invite you to use this poppy picture as your color inspiration!  The Close To My Heart colors to use are Topiary, Lagoon, Glacier, Sunset and Cranberry.

     "Card Trick" Quilt Pattern"

Of course this quilt pattern was a 12x12 so I proportioned it down to a 6x6 for my card, cut all  the different pieces from Paper Fundamentals for each of the colors in the challenge (five colors five designs), glued on a piece of cardstock and then put through an embossing folder.  I used left over pieces to make a matching panel for the Sentiment in the Center and adhered with 3D thin foam tape.

The card looked a little plain and I had no idea what I was going to do from this point because I really didn't want to cover the design of the quilt panel.  Why not use Vellum...so a doily was cut using my Cricut, sponged each card color on the back side and then glued in center panel before placing the Sentiment "Warm Wishes".  Still needed something...

Went through my stash and found a glitter paper butterfly and addded pearls to the body and placed on corner of sentiment.  Found a pretty flower stamp that was small enough to add to the corners of the sentiment, stamped, sponged, fussy-cut, heat embossed and adhered using 3D thin foam tape.

I made a small lap quilt many years ago using the "Card Trick" pattern. Your card brought back memories because the lap quilt was for my grandmother. She was a fabulous quilter but her failing vision had taken away her ability to quilt. She enjoyed it for many years and when she passed at age 101 it had been well loved. Thanks for the memory.
