Double Trouble Challenge #32 with Retro Rubber Challenge #114

Here is Double Trouble Challenge #32 "Be Square - Christmas in July" partnering with Retro Rubber Challenge #114 wherein you use old stamps. It's usually pretty easy to find old stamps for Christmas, but hard not to choose one of your new ones.  However, Retro and Double Trouble have partnered together to give old stamps some love.  

Used a lot of technique and tools for this project but it all came together.  Stamped Santa and his reindeer in red, fussy-cut and set aside for placement later. In Cricut Design Space there was a square card with a Palm Tree (4 3/4 x 4 3/4) which was perfect to pull in Twisted Sister's optional twist "a beach scene with Santa".  Modified the card to include the sentiment created with text and printed directly on card with the Cricut.    

To create the shaker card...the card was folded, taped in place to sponge on the scenery in a variety of colors for sand, water, clouds and sky using the landscape stencils.  Additional palm tree and starfish cricut cuts were adhered to the existing palm originally on square card but modified to have the leaves overlap the square cut for the shaker card.  Card was cut in half, plastic added to the back of front, sequins added to the center of inside card, then both pieces adhered with foam tape to create the shaker.  Another panel in cranberry cardstock was cut to frame the card and then adhered to card base.  

Last but not least was the placement of Santa and his reindeer as they were coming across the beaches of Hawaiian wishing everyone a "Mele Kalikimaka".

Cute as a Button - Color Dare #349

This is my DT card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #349 with choice of three colors "Lilac, Peach and Raspberry" and using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #322.  Chose the softer colors for a baby card and the button dies were perfect for this sketch.  Months previous found the baby feet die at a garage sale and was just waiting for the right time to use along with the Buttons and it was just the right size for the element in the corner.  The sentiment was from Cricut Design Space which I had purchased previously.

You're Turtley Awesome - Color Dare #348

This is my ColorMyHeart Color Dare Challenge #348 TicTacToe "Into the Wild" color palette (Column 1: Sapphire, New England, Fern + Linen and Mink) using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #321.  These turtles were a pre-printed image on specialty paper for Copic coloring...perfect for the image on the sketch.  Used Copic Sketch alcohol-based brush pens in a variety of colors to come closest to match Column 1 colors, fussy-cut image and adhered with 3D thin foam tape on a Sapphire background design paper.  The sentiment was printed on Vellum using Cricut Design Space text.

Beach - Double Trouble Challenge #31

This is my DT card for Double Trouble Challenge #31 "Dry/Heat Embossing" and partnering with Pile it On Challenge #  "Transportation/Vacation/Holiday" theme, using the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch Challenge #412.  Decided to use my Cricut Design Space program to put together a beach theme for Vacation/Holiday, Dry Embossing and Twisted Sister's optional twist of a road sign.  A lot of piecing together but pleased with the result. 

Wasn't quite sure how I was going to work in the embossing; but looked through my folders and found one with long grass that reminded me of the beaches in the Outerbanks, and of course the fences separating properties.

It's a "dry heat" here in Arizona so include dry and/or heat embossing using the bonus theme at Pile It On "Transportation and/or Vacation" themed project. You can stop here and you have already met this challenge so Pile It On.

Thank You For All You Do - Color Dare #347

This is my Design Team card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #347 using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #320.  Decided to do a CAS card and follow the sketch without too many changes.   Needed a couple practice runs on using Waffle Flower's multi-layered stamps for the butterfly...my practice runs paid off and final was much better than my first attempts.  Anxious to use this with a variety of colors.

Love - Color Dare #346

This is my DT project for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #346 Love of Color (Using all the Colors on the Board) and combined it with the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #319.  When I looked at this color palette along with the sketch it shouted out all the colors needed for a beautiful floral wreath.  

Selected a stitched tag for my floral wreath, chose a scribble circle for my wreath base, stamped the sentiment inside the circle, die cut/layered many small florals, leaves and butteflies which were adhered randomly on the wreath base.  Adhered tag on the Smoothie colored design paper, die cut a bow, adhered at the top of the tag along with a butterfly and then adhered this panel to a Sapphire design paper background.  Added Wink of Stella to the flowers and tiny sparkles to each of the flowers.

Oh Joy It's Your Birthday - Double Trouble Challenge #30 "Background Technique"

This card is my DT card for Double Trouble Challenge #30 "Stencil/Emboss Techniques for background" and if you include Twisted Sister's optional twist "include a farm animal" you would then be eligible to enter your project in our partner's blog challenge 2 Crafty Critter Crazies "Critters".  

This was such a fun card to put together.  The barn is a cricut cut that appealed to me because it had pockets for a gift card.  The cricut die cut tags were modified using a piggy stamp from MFT and added several of their sentiments on the tags.  

Decided to use stencils for my background which were ordered some time ago and though the small cloud and rolling hills stencils were just what I needed.  Colors were sponged on and then adhered the barn and animals using 3D thin foam tape between each layer.  The most time-consuming was putting the barn together, but I'm so happy with it.  

THING 1:  Touble Maker 

Use a stencil technique in your project using spritz, paint, sponge, etc. OR if you don't have a stencil use an embossing folder. You can make a stencil using a die or cutting machine. In other words, no design paper for your background.

THING 3: Twisted Sister

Sing along with Old McDonald (song) and include a farm critter on your project. Even if your farm critter is not in the song, we can always add another verse!

This is an OPTIONAL TWIST but you will be awarded an additional chance in Double Trouble's random prize draw if you include a "farm critter".

Celebrate - Color Dare #345

This is my DT project for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #345 "TicTacToe" (3rd Column Sage, Mint, Sugarplum + Canary and Ballerina) combined with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #318 and theme at Heart2Heart "Minty Fresh".  Please visit each of these challenges to see DT members' inspiration, along with other participants that have entered these challenges and maybe you can combine these challenges too.  

My decision for the row selected was based on the theme "Minty Fresh" and the 3rd column on the TicTacToe color palette appealed to me because of the soft colors, and added Ballerina and Canary to my selection.  Used the Mint on my background as the primary color which had Canary in the center of the white flowers.  Using Ballerina cardstock the strip behind the ovals were die cut with a decorative border die on both sides and adhered on background paper.  

All other pieces were die cut - two scalloped ovals using Mint and Sugarplum cardstock, another oval for sentiment, sentiment stamped and all layered and adhered on background.  The flowers were layered with 3D thin foam dots, adhered on background and then the leaves and center of flowers added.
