First Day - You Add Color to My Life

DAY 2 PM - 2017 FALL COFFEE LOVERS BLOGHOP

My Friend just became a Disign Team Member...so this card is made for Brown Sugar Challenge #268 "Back to School" theme, combined with Try Stampin' - or not - On Tuesday Sketch Challenge #339.   

It took me a lot of thought and time on how I was going to do Back to School card to include coffee.  Since I wasn't coming up with any ideas just went to my stash and pulled an image that was already cut, colored and trimmed up the fuss-cut.  Next I had purchased a stamp set at a scrapping flea show over a year ago and never used and there was an apple on it. First and last time that stamp will be used, it just crumbled apart.  I was on my way and just cut pieces, of design paper from "Magical" paperpack, according to the sketch and it was starting to come together.  CTMH Artbooking had a "First Day" die cut.  

Thought I was finiished but remembered there was a challenge going on with an inspirational picture of a basket of apples "Paper Sweeties".  I didn't have any of their stamps on the card, but did remember I had some crayons and paint brush stamps.  So stamped, colored, and fussy-cut.  And the sentiment on the same stamp set was perfect.  

Now I had to put it all together...that was the easy part because The Outlawz asked for 3 pop-ups and these items were perfect...adhered with different thicknesses of 3D foam tape to give it a lot of dimension as you can tell from the pictures below.

Hocus Pocus - I need Coffee to Focus

DAY 2 AM - 2017 FALL COFFEE LOVERS BLOGHOP

This card was being made using the inspirational picture on the Three Amigos BlogHop Challenge #6 "Falling For You" combined with the Tuesday Morning Sketch #240 and using the freebie image of Brentwood "Hocus Pocus" at Jessical Lynn's Originals. 

Needed the simplicity of a sketch because of the time spent on the coloring and this sketch fit right in...and of course was a no brainer to use "Falling For You" paper pack.  Cut each layer to match the sketch, layered each design paper with Espresso cardstock, focal point added to background with thin foam sheet and fussy-cut one of the flowers from the background design paper and adhered in corner.  

The inside of card was decorated with the left over zip strips and one of the images from the Falling For You Complements.

Used a future sketch challenge for my design and chose my background papers and layered.  For a border chose my stamp (a stack of cups), cut/stamped/colored two sets, fussy-cut and adhered with 3D Thin Foam tape stacking one above the other. Stamped Sentiment on the background panel.

Is Nature's Way of Making Up For Mondays - Color Dare #261

DAY 1 AM - 2017 FALL COFFEE LOVERS BLOGHOP

What better way then to start off the Coffee Lovers Fall Bloghop with Brentwood...love that guy.  This is a freebie image from last year; but there is a new freebie out for this Fall's Bloghop at Jessica Lynn Originals "Brentwood Owl" - Barista Coffee"...please stop by to get your image and join in the fun.  

The color challenge was perfect for Brentwood, and he felt so good among the cattail, early morning rise with his coffee cup in hand and a sweet hello to everyone.  Started with the background using an embossing folder of cattails, cut the brown border with a collage die and layered underneath to bring in another color.  Brentwood was already in my stash so just had to color him using copic alcohol-based pens to create the colors nearest to the challenge.  Cut the cattail, layered and placed on background with 3D thin foam tape, and added Brentwood.

Halloween - H2H Sept Wk #2

Used the Negative space from the Sentiment and made a Shaker card using a stiched circular die.  The dies for the witch, pot and Sentiment were all a Halloween Holiday stamp set put out by Peachy Cheap which included several dies.     

  

This is my Design Team project for Heart2Heart "Negative Space" using a sentiment stamp "Halloween". So for our challenge this week...Negative Spaces. We often don't think about using the spaces left from die cutting as a design feature. This is your chance to get out your dies and die cutter or your electronic cutting machine and share how you make a positive out of a negative.

Remember you have all month to create to be eligible for recognition as one of the Top 10 "Darlings". AND if you create a project for each challenge in the month of Sept, you will earn a badge as an H2H Addict for Perfect Attendance.

Blessed - AHSC #228

Back a couple weeks ago Jean Chaney, a member of Our Little Crop Group, demonstrated a few techniques using shaving cream...somewhat messy but fun and we created some pretty fantastic backgrounds.  This card is one of them using a variety of ink colors and shaving cream for a fall background.  The pumpkins were die cut, curved with bone, distressed and adhered to card with 3D Foam Tape.  Did a second background with same shaving cream batch and used one of them to die cut somes leaves, distressed and adhered with 3D Foam Tape behind the pumpkins.

Color Challenge - H2H Sept 1st Week

Usually have a diffcult time with Neutral Colors as a background, however in the inspiration picture it really enhances the beautiful colors of the birds...so decided to use toffee as my background.  Chose a Butterfly die and cut one in each of the four colors, a lot of piecing, layered with pebble and fussy-cut. Used the sorbet cut as a shadow of the butterfly, attached to the yellow with 3D thin foam tape and curled the wings.  Wanted a frame for my butterfly so went with the Wonky Stitched Squares in three colors, attached the peacock and sorbet squares to the background, adhered the pebble square with thin foam on top and then added my Colorful Butterfly.  Stamped my sentiment in peacock ink directly on background.  

This is my Design Team project for Heart2Heart "Color Challenge" using a gorgeous combination of CTMH colors: Toffee, Pomegranate, Sorbet, Canary, Peacock and Pebble...I wanted so much to put this inspiration picture on my project.

Happy Haunting - Color Dare #259

COLOR DARE ANNOUNCEMENT

READ ALL ABOUT IT

New Color Palette Photos have been created for better clarification of the colors. CTMH cardstock has the actual color on one side and the other side is a lighter variance of the same color.  

The new palette photo will make it easier for comparison for matching colors if you don't have CTMH Colors. Plus...the variance of the same color gives you a fair range for substituting similar colors so you can still join in all the fun.

The rules will remain the same (All and Only) the featured colors in our Challenge, neutrals will be specified and some colors optional.  

Weekly Challenges Open for Two Weeks:  We have eliminated the Sneak Peeks and have decided to open Weekly Challenges to two weeks. 

Our first Sept Color Dare #259 will be active from the 1st to 14th, and the next Color Dare #260 will go active on the 8th to 21st, etc. There will be two challenges running at all times. The two current challenges will be available on the sidebar of the Blog.

This extension gives you more time and flexibility to create and hopefully invite more participants for Color Dare - but please don't wait for the closing date to submit your entry. Winners will be announced at the close of each challenge. The first winners for #259 will be announced the Monday following the 14th, and each week thereafter.

This color challenge appeared to be good for a Halloween card so my Design Team card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #259 was combined with the Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge #418.  Don't have very many Halloween stamps so decided to go to Cricut Design Space to see what was available.  Found a Spider Web which was used for the circle in the sketch and then the Hat had a spider attached to it which made the perfect image for my spider web.  Die cut hat with colors from the color sketch, layered the hat and adhered with 3D Foam tape on top of the spider web.  One of the Fundamental Papers "Pansy" had a stripe in the design...cut a strip and placed it on the side.  Sentiment was added and three dots.
