Saw this adorable gnome image in an email from Jessical Lynn Originals, offering a freebie. Knew exactly what this image would be used for even though it was a Spring image, to create a Christmas card for the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge #27 "Green". In my stash there was a paperpack "CTMH Gnomes for Christmas" with a variety of complementary patterned papers which was perfect for the BYSHC Sketch Challenge #43.
Retirement has created a challenge addict, which takes up a fair amount of my time. Thanks to innovative and creative ideas from many Design Teams, my CTMH daughter, and my friends. Challenges give me a jump-start on many of my cards and turns on my creativity to come up with my own unique designs. Caffeinated Coffee and BYSCH Sketch Jessica Lynn Clipart (Due by May 25th)
The patterned papers were cut using three of the patterned papers, layered with green cardstock and each panel adhered to card base as in sketch. The gnome was sized, printed, colored with Copic sketch pens closest to colors in the patterned paper, fussy-cut and then adhered with 3D thin foam tape for rounding and dimension.
Cut two border sentiments "Merry Christmas", one in green and the other in white. Adhered the green across the cup and card and then added the white leaving the top portion of the green as a shadow.

I'm Stuck on You - Color Dare #592 TicTacToe
This is my Design Team project for ColorMyHeart Color Dare # 592 "TicTacToe" using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #568. My choice was Row 1 Sage, Papaya and Sundance because these are the colors of Spring in Arizona and the sketch was perfect for my cactus and sun.
Stuck pretty much with the sketch except moving the sentiment down a smidgen. Using a mini slimline many dies and patterned papers were cut instead of coloring. CAS and exactly what I wanted.
The inside of card base was lined with the same patterned papers along the right border to finish off my card.
Please hop on over and join us at Color Dare's Color Board #592 and check out the Design Teams inspiration, and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.

Birthday Wishes - Double Trouble #162 "Spring Florals" partnering with Beautiful Blossoms
This is my Design Team project for Double Trouble "Spring Florals", partnering with Beautiful Blossoms Mood Board #15 "Anything Goes Floral", using a favorite floral image. Beautiful Blossoms Mood Board is an inspiration tool, but not a requirement however, must have flower(s)/floral(s). I also chose to used Twisted Sister's optional twist "include an Easter element and/or bonnets or baskets" with your floral, but this is not a requirement of our partner.
I did a couple experiments masking the bunny in between the two florals and this was my final... others will go in my stash.
My first inspiration was to use the bolder colors in the Mood Board; however with the itty-bitty bunny I felt a variety of Copic pastel colors would be perfect for the florals. There was a lot of detail in the floral stamping itself so I used a watercolor affect instead of blending as I wanted that detail to show. The sentiment curve balanced and filled in the white space and the glacier border was perfect for framing.
On the insideright corner of card base another stamp and masking was done using the smaller floral and bunny colored lightly with pastel Copic markers.
Please hop on over and join us at Double Trouble and Beautiful Blossoms to check out the Design Teams inspiration. Challenge yourself to add the optional twists and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.

I'm Thinking of You - TSOT #642
This is my Design Team project for Try a Sketch on Tuesday #642 combined with the ColorMyHeart Color Dare #589 "2 Colors + 1" having to use Royal and Periwinkle and choice of one of the other three colors and my +1 is Sage.
For some time in my stash I had this floral die set, and I now know why I didn't use it right away... oh my, a lot of small pieces and time consuming to put together a floral bouquet. Although I am very pleased with it; it will go back in my stash for awhile.
The flower dies were cut using a combination of Royal and Perwinkle cardstock, with the leaves cut from Sage and using both the light and dark side of the cardstock. The background is Mink, a grey neutral whimsical floral patterned paper, from CTMH Mix-In packets and on the other side the striped paper was used for one of diagonal panels between two royal stitched panels. Sentiment and background were bordered with Royal cardstock and then adhered to white card base and the florals were adhered with 3D thin foam tape to the background for dimension.
On the inside of the card some of the unused pieces of florals cut were adhered to the right-hand corner of the card.
Please hop on over and join us at Try a Sketch on Tuesday and check out the Design Teams inspiration, and then let us see how you put your sketch puzzel together... hope to see you there. Then hop on over to Color Dare for their choices of Color Boards, inspiration and how easy it may be to combine challenges.

Life is Messy, Friends Help - Color Dare #590 Triple Play
This is my Design Team project for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #590 "Triple Play" wherein you MUST use all 3 colors, white, black and neutrals free. Decided to use the Try a Sketch on Tuesday Challenge #641.
Because the colors are pretty bold I thought Lagoon and Honey Butter would make a great background, kinda representing sun and sky. For my image chose the kitten with a ball of yarn to bring in the Clover color.
The two main patterned panels were cut with decorative die frames, the larger one bordered with Lagoon and adhered to card base. The kittens were stamped with black ink, colored with gray neutrals except for the ball of yarn which was colored with Sketch pens closest to the CTMH Clover cardstock.
I had a squiggly die cut I placed under the kitten to show the unraveling of the yarn adhered direct on background along with one of the kittens and then adhered the kitten with ribbon with 3D thin foam tape for a little dimension. Picked one of the cute sentiments, bordered with Lagoon and adhered to background on a slant.
For the inside of the card I used the negative cut of the larger frame bordering along the right-hand side.
Please hop on over and join us at Color Dare's Color Board #590 and check out the Design Teams inspiration, and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.

I'm Lucky to Know You - Double Trouble #161 "Pinch Proof" partnering with Festive Friday
This is my Design Team project for Double Trouble "Pinch Proof" using green and Twisted Sister's optional twist to include a touch' o' gold and one other element from Festive Fridays Inspo List FF0154 "St Patrick's Day". For the Festive Friday, you need only use three of their items from their Inspo List; but I was able to use Gold, Gold embellishments, Green, Clover, and Lucky sentiment, and it doesn't have to be a St. Patrick's Day card.
I had so much fun creating this card as I had just received my postage stamp die and was anxious to use it... I had a small container of St. Pattrick's Day papers and embellishments that pretty much had depleted over the years; but was surprised to find the patterned paper and thought it would be a good background. The image of the frog was also in the container and the balance of embellishments were from my new postage stamp set and two sentiments from Paper Smooches "A Magical Spring".
The frog was colored using Copic pens... unfortunately the dark green decided to leak and my fix was adding dots in lighter colors to compensate to change the color closer to the clover green in the background paper. The pot of gold was filled using some tiny gold stickers that have been in my stash for years and never used.
The stamp die was cut two times, one in white cardstock, the second from the patterned paper, offset from one another to show the division of the stamps and give a more decorative border. Used VersaMark for stamp images and sentiments and heat embossed with gold. The 50 cent was stamped using Mememto black ink. The layered postage stamp was adhered to another layer of Clover cardstock and adhered to card base. Frog was adhered to postage die cut with 3D thin foam tape for dimension.
The inside of the card was based on the circular stamp under the frog "Hugs Inside". The clover is an svg image stamped with Paper Smooches sentiment, layered with Glover cardstock and adhered to inside of card.

Happy Holidays
I was sorting through some of my retired Christmas papers and decided to create a card using the BYSHC sketch challenge #42 and incorporated Caffeinated Christmas Challenge #26 "Hearts" along with Jingle Belles "Getting Text-y with it".
The sketch reminded me of a Gate Fold, using one of the tutorials on our Double Trouble Challenge #160 "Hoodie-Hoo Celebration" and celebrating Creative Creases #76 "Anything Goes Fun Folds" for their 3rd Anniversary.
The side panels of my card were cut from CTMH "Christmas Story", retired paper pack, which I found in my stash. Panels were bordered with a layer of Candy Apple cardstock and adhered to card base. To satisfy the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge I die cut a cup with hearts using a small text-y patterned paper also found in my stash to satisfy Jingle Belles Challenge. The cup was adhered with 3D foam tape for dimension on black cardstock, bordered with the red cardstock and adhered on the left panel.
I put my scanner up close to the Text-y design paper and there were many recipes with all ingredients and directions... prime rib roast, holiday cranberry sauce, golden rum cake, Soft Ginger Cookie, and Egg Nog as shown in my scanner photo. If you want a slice of my patterned paper with a particular recipe let me know and I will send it to you. Just message me under comments.

Flying By Just to say Hi - Color Dare #588 - Fancy Five
This is my Design Team project for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #588 "Fancy Five" wherein you need to use at least three colors, and my choices were Sundance, Journey and Lagoon. To keep this card CAS... used a patterned Sundance paper under a Border Die using Journey cardstock which looks like leaded glass. A pretty butterfly in Lagoon placed in center with a heart "Flutter by Trail Die" using 3D thin foam tape for dimension. The sentiment was typed on Word and printed. Used the Sundance patterned paper and a strip of Journey on the inside border of the cardbase.

Feeling Mushy - Double Trouble Challenge #160 "Hoodie Hoo" partnering with Creative Creases
Here is my Design Team card for Double Trouble "Hoodie Hoo" a celebration for the 3rd Anniversary of Creative Creases #76 "Anything Goes Fun Fold". Twisted Sister reminds us we have an extra day this year to create and wants to celebrate Leap Year and her optional twist is to include something that hops, skips or leaps.
Following the tutorial for this Fun Fold Card... pieces were cut for the card base, frame and design papers. After adhering the design papers the smaller die was used to cut through the front of the card.
The mushroom with the frog was die cut, colored with Copic sketch pens and bordered with another scallop cut from Paprika cardstock.
On the bottom inside of the card base... grass was cut using design paper and adhered to the bottom border. Two additional mushrooms were stamped, die cut and colored and placed on the grass border, adding a stamped butterfly and some flowers to the scene.
On the front of the card the sentiment "Feeling Mushy" was stamped, cut, bordered with paprika cardstock and adhered to background paper. Another sentiment was stamped directly on the inside of the card base.
Please hop on over and join us at Double Trouble to check out the Design Teams inspiration, and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.

Hugs - Using TSOT #640 Sketch combined with Color Dare 585
Here is my Design Team card for Try a Sketch On Tuesday TSOT #640 turning the sketch to a reverse horizontal and using an A2 (landscape) card base to allow me to use my swirly bird ribbon diecut with an A2 card base (landscape). ColorMyHeart Color Dare #585 "TicTacToe" Color Board was chosen becase there is a nice variety of colors and any combination would work well with this sketch... chose Column One using Mocha, Peach and Papaya + limeade.
From the Mix-In packet both sides of Papaya pattern were used, the bolder polka-dot for the background and the softer floral pattern for the Bird. For the framing of the previous cut bird another bird ribbon die was cut using Mocha cardstock.
Two fancy circles from Our Daily Bread were cut, the larger one in Mocha and the smaller frame in a peach patterned paper. These fancy circles were adhered directly to the background and then the bird and frame were adhered over the circles.
To finish the sketch... the circle was a small layered flower with leaves and my decision was to used a sentiment to balance out the card with a Hugs die using Mocha with another small flower and leave embellishment.
Please hop on over and join us at Try a Sketch On Tuesday to check out the Design Teams inspiration, and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.
