DTC Challenge #208 3-2-1 Recipe "Waddle We Do Next"

This is my Design Team project for Double Trouble #208 3-2-1 Recipe "Waddle We Do Next". When I saw Twisted Sister's optional twist to include a penguin, there was no question in my mind, a penguin card it would be. May be a little out of the box, but my inspiration was from our sister's challenge TSOT's sketch.

While looking for my CTMH penguin stamp set I came across this cute summer stamp set from Rubbernecker (aka as Brass & Bliss) which my daughter had gifted me some time ago and never used.

This stamp set needed a beach scene so I pulled out a retired stamp set from CTMH "Writing in the Sand" and stamped sea and sand on a piece of vanilla cardstock. The sea was first stamped with Peacock, moved cardstock up slightly and stamped with Sea Glass and then used Sea Glass and lightly sponged all of the sea portion. The sand portion it was stamped with Chocolate ink and then lightly sponged with the same color. Used an oval die to cut the sea/sand and adhered to a blue panel, and then to card base.

Stamped all the images using Momento black ink, cut with my Brother ScanNCcut, colored with Copic Sketch pens, and adhered using glue and 3D thin foam tape for dimension.

Challenge TSOT #686 with DTC #207 3-2-1 Recipe "Cool, Wild and/or Crazy" - Happy Birthday

This is my Design Team project for Try a Sketch on Tuesday (TSOT) Sketch #686 and combining it with out Sister Challenge, Double Trouble # 3-2-1 Recipe "Cool, Wild and/or Crazy", (3-Colors, 2-shapes, 1-sentiment).

I needed a birthday card... decided to use Balloons as my shapes instead of Twisted Sister optional twist of two squares. The balloons, along with the squiggly strips for the balloon strings were cut from CTMH "Fresh Paint" patterned paper.

I traced a half circle on a piece of white cardstock and adhered each of the squiggly balloon strings around the half circle and then bordered with the same patterned paper. The balloons were placed as in sketch and adhered with 3-D thin foam tape for dimension. Stamped sentiment and bordered with same patterned paper.

I was not pleased with the white background... it needed some color. Chose several Copic colors matching the patterned paper and dotted each color
randomly on the background.  Now, how cool was that... pretty cool.

There were a few extra balloons that I had die cut so adhered them to the inside of the card on the right-hand corner.

Please hop on over to Try a Sketch On Tuesday, check out the Design Team's inspiration for this sketch and share your creativity... hope to see you there.

Challenge #207 3-2-1 Recipe "Cool, Wild and/or Crazy" - Crazy 4 U

This is my Design Team project for Double Trouble #207 3-2-1 Recipe "Cool, Wild and/or Crazy" and combining it with our Sister Challenge for inspiration, Try a Sketch on Tuesday (TSOT Sketch #686) which starts on Jan 6th. This card will not be entered in TSOT challenge due to the backlinking rule but used as an example of combining the two challenges for inspiration and to show how easy it is to participant in both challenges.

The 3-2-1 recipe was easy; but the TSOT sketch was crazy... and I definitely I went with wild and crazy and after the card was completed, I guess you could call it cool too. Had a lot of fun with this card.

Wild:  My background was cut using a unknown wild paper from my stash and bordered with black cardstock. I didn't have any squiggly die so I used the thin strips die, cut them diagonally at the tip using the same wild paper, and adhered on a half circle of black cardstock.

Twisted Sister and Cool:  It was easy to include Twisted Sister's optional twist of two squares. I cut three squares (one sliced off one side) in three different colors of cardstock and bordered in black. It was definitely a good fit for using the TSOT Sketch. The squares were adhered with 3D thin foam tape for a little dimension.

Crazy:  Again, dusted off my Cricut and created the sentiment Crazy 4 U and then used my printer for the smaller sentiment "you've got me all in a spin" bordered with black cardstock and adhered to the squares.

On the inside of the card another half circle with the squiggly strips in the bottom right-hand corner.  Just to put a little more spin on it.
