DTC #194 3-2-1 Recipe "Summer Fun Fold" - Happy Birthday AND TSOT #673

This is my Design Team project for Double Trouble #194 using the 3-2-1 Recipe "Summer Fun Fold" and combining it with our Sister Challenge, Try a Sketch on Tuesday (TSOT Sketch #673 ) which starts on June 23rd. This card will not be entered in TSOT challenge due to the backlinking rule but used as an example of combining the two challenges for interested participants.

The 3-2-1 recipe had a requirement of a Fun Fold and the TSOT sketch was perfect to make it a Gatefold fun fold card.  It was easy to use the colors and shape requirements to complete the 3-2-1 recipe.

Since one of my grandsons have a birthday July 3rd I thought this would be a great card for a guy who likes to celebrate July 4th so that was easy to include Twisted Sister's optional twist fireworks.

Now the tricky part is I don't have any firework stamps in my stash. However, CTMH's Dandelion Wishes was a stamp set I had used quite awhile ago for fireworks, and it works. My three circle dies were cut using white cardstock, then stamped with the dandelion in red, blue and silver inks. These circles were adhered to the left side panel of an embossed layered panel, and other panel was left blank.

To complete the card stamped a sentiment and bordered with red.  On the inside of the card used white cardstock bordered with red and stamped several dandelions in same colors.  Mission accomplished.

Please hop on over and join us at Double Trouble. Have fun with our 3-2-1 Recipe "Summer Fun Fold " and play along with our optional twist and dare while earning additional chances to our random draw. Check out the Design Teams inspirations, optional twists and dare and let us see what you create... hope to see you there.

Then hop on over to our sister challenge,Try a Sketch On Tuesday to check out the Design Teams inspiration, and you may want to consider using their sketch with our 3-2-1 recipe.

Color Dare #656 Thank You

This is my Design Team project for Color Dare #656 using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #633. Chose a CTMH Toffee patterned paper for the background and bordered it with Harbour cardstock.  All the die cuts used for the floral and sentiment were cut from CTMH cardstock, closest match of the three colors in the graphic, and then adhered to the background direct and some 3D foam tape for dimension.  Fun sketch and perfect with our color challenge.

Try a Sketch on Tuesday #672 "Happy Father's Day"

This is my Design Team project for Try a Sketch on Tuesday (TSOT) Sketch #672  and combining it with our Sister Challenge, Double Trouble #193 using the 3-2-1 Recipe "My Guy".

The TSOT sketch is perfect for layers and patterned papers. "My Guy", same guy,  but this time is a bird enthusiast and a Father's Day card. Used complementary papers from CTMH's Skylark paperpack and colors that went well with Kraft. The patterned papers were cut and bordered with Toffee (Kraft-like) cardstock and adhered to the white cardbase as in sketch.

The focal point was a larger cut panel from the Skylark patterned paper and then cut to size and fussy-cut the bird to fall off edge of panel.  A sentiment was stamped on same as one of the panels, bordered with Toffee and adhered to bird panel.

On the inside a couple of the patterned zip strips from the same paperpack were adhered to the right-hand border.

Please hop on over to Try a Sketch On Tuesday, check out the Design Team's inspiration for this sketch and share your creativity... hope to see you there.

You may want to hop on over to our sister challenge, Double Trouble to see if you have already met their 3-2-1 Recipe ingredients. If you have, you can enter the challenge and be eligible for random drawing chances... or maybe you just have to add an ingredient to meet the requirement. Hope to see you there.

DTC #193 - 3-2-1 Recipe "My Guy" - Have a "tee-rific" Birthday

This is my Design Team project for Double Trouble #193 using the 3-2-1 Recipe "My Guy" and combining it with our Sister Challenge, Try a Sketch on Tuesday (TSOT) Sketch #672 which starts on Jun 10th. This card will not be entered in TSOT challenge due to the backlinking rule but used as an example of combining the two challenges for interested participants.

The TSOT sketch is perfect for layers and patterned papers... "My Guy" is a goIfer enthusiast and it was fun looking for complementary papers in his colors that went well with Kraft or Kraft-like colors. The patterned papers were cut and bordered with Toffee (Kraft-like) cardstock and adhered to the white cardbase as in sketch.

The golfing bag consisted of three cuts, a corrugated blue paper and two Kraft-like colors which were layered and pieced for dimension.  This was adhered to the blue and white checkered panel.

Also cut a tee and golf ball in Toffee and white glitter layered and placed next to the stamped tee sentiment.

On the inside corner of cardbase another sentiment was added and some stamped golf balls.

Please hop on over and join us at Double Trouble, have fun with our 3-2-1 Recipe "My Guy" and play along with our optional twist and dare while earning additional chances to our random draw. Check out the Design Teams inspirations, and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.

Then hop on over and check out the TSOT Sketch Challenge, check out the Design Teams inspiration, and consider using their sketch with our 3-2-1 recipe.

Color Dare #654 "Thanks"

This is my Design Team card for Color Dare #654, wherein you had to use Black and Pink + one more color and I chose green.  Love Story Paperpack has a lot of black and white patterned papers so selected two and diagonally cut both and adhered to black cardstock and then to white cardbase.

This packet also had a lot of stickers for coloring and I chose this beautiful flower, fussy-cut to take off the edge and colored with a pink copic brush pen and used green for the leaves. Rather than raise the full flower I slit some of the flower pedals so that I could adhere three direct to the background and used 3D thin foam tape to lift the other pedals I slit. I do this quite frequently when I don't have other images of same to cut and layer.

In my stash I found a Thanks sentiment already cut in Mettalic Gold which was complementary to the gold in the flower center.

I went back to the stickers to look for something for the inside corner but as I was fussy-cutting the flower it slipped from my fingers and fell almost exactly as shown on the card.  It found it's home on the front of the card.

One more look at the stickers for the inside, there was a pretty gold border stamp and all I needed to do was cut the length and adhere.

TSOT #671 and DTC #192 - Merry Christmas

This is my Design Team project for Try a Sketch on Tuesday (TSOT Sketch #671) and combining it with our Sister Challenge, Double Trouble's #192 3-2-1 Recipe "Sun Fun"

The background consisted of four torn patterned papers from CTMH's Sea's & Greetings, a paper pack with fun Hawaiian and/or Northern Hemisphere Christmas patterned papers. This is the same paperpack used for my DT Card yesterday for Double Trouble #192 with the Hawaiian patterned papers.

My sentiment was layered with two cuts of a Merry Christmas die for some dimension and adhered to the background.  The card looked a little flat so from one of the patterned paper I fussy-cut a scarf, mittens and a shell flake and adhered with 3-D thin foam tape for a little more dimension.  On the inside of the card another torn sheet of the stripes were adhered to the bottom of card case.

DTC #192 - 3-2-1 Recipe "Sun Fun" ALOHA, Flip-Flops Welcome

This is my Design Team project for Double Trouble #192 3-2-1 Recipe "Sun Fun" and combining it with our Sister Challenge, Try a Sketch on Tuesday (TSOT) Sketch #671. which starts on May 27th. This card will not be entered in TSOT challenge due to the backlinking rule but used as an example of combining the two challenges for interested participants.

The background consists of four torn patterned papers from CTMH's Sea's & Greetings, a paper pack with fun Hawaiian Christmas patterned papers. The torn patterned papers were added to a Lagoon layer and attached to the card base.  I didn't have a sentiment relative to the flip-flops so I dusted off my Cricut and made my own sentiment combining three different images, removing the flip-flops and flower and welded the words together. Cut two Cricut sentiments, layered and applied to the L-H top of the background.

From the flip-flop patterned paper I fussy-cut two sets of flip-flops, placed the images  over the pattern and adhered to the patterned paper with 3D thin paper for dimension.

Two of the torn sheet patterns were adhered to the R-H border inside card base.

Thinking of You - Color Dare #652

This is my Design Team project for Color Dare #652 and the soft colors were perfect for a pretty Spring floral using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #629.

Decided to keep much to the sketch and enhanced it with stitched frames. Selected a subtle striped patterned paper layered with a light brown border to match the softness of the florals. Stamped a sentiment and the card was completed.

TSOT 670 and DTC 191 - Have a Chillin Birthday

This is my Design Team project for Try a Sketch on Tuesday (TSOT Sketch #670) and combining it with our Sister Challenge, Double Trouble's 7th Anniversary "Raffle Celebration"

The background consisted of two patterned papers (checkered and dots) from Sweet Safari paperpack... note there is a Kraft-like color in the checkered pattern. Both patterned papers were adhered to Kraft paper and then adhered to white card base.

The stacked cone of ice cream scoops was in my stash. Pulled out my Copic Sketch brush pens, colored to match colors in the background paper, fussy-cut and then adhered to the background with 3D thin foam tape for a little dimension.

The two panels on the left-hand side were cut with a stitched die using the checkered design paper and adhered to the polka-dot background paper. Sentiment stamped on white cardstock, bordered with Kraft and adhered direct to background paper.

Sentiment was stamped on white cardstock, bordered with Kraft and adhered direct to background.  I was going to try to use a Volkswagon bus for my sentiment; but wasn't happy with it... so colored the Volkswagon bus, fussy cut and added to the inside corner of the the card base.

DTC #191 "Celebratory 7th Anniversary Raffle "Enjoy Your Special Day"

This is my Design Team project for Double Trouble's 7th Anniversary "Raffle Celebration". My pick was the Pink Raffle Ticket for a "Birthday"... I included Twisted Sister's optional twist to use some Kraft Paper or Like, and Double Dare's dare to use our sister challenge Try a Sketch on Tuesday #670)which starts on May 13th. This card will not be entered in TSOT challenge due to the backlinking rule but used as an example of combining the two challenges for interested participants.

The background consisted of two patterned papers, both using Kraft color in the patterns and adhered to a Kraft border.  Flowers were cut using white cardstock, colored using Color Dare's graphic (blue/green + one color of choice, purple).  Kept close to the TSOT Sketch using some pretty die florals and the Color Dare Challenge #651 was perfect for my special birthday card.  Flowers were cut using white cardstock, colored using Color Dare's #651 graphic(blue/green + color of choice purple) and some adhered with 3D thin foam tape for dimension.

The two panels on the left-hand side were cut with a stitched die using same design paper, colored and adhered to match the stripes on the background paper. Sentiment stamped on patterned paper, bordered with Kraft and adhered with 3D thin tape again matching the stripes on background paper.

Had extra cuts of flowers, colored and placed on the r-h inside corner of card base.

Color Dare #650 and Double Trouble 3-2-1 Recipe "For Someone Special"

This is my Design Team project for Color Dare #650 You MUST use the two colors in the graphic. There are some Free colors you can add to your project but you MUST use Blue and Purple. For my free color I chose to use a silver embossing for my stamped mage.

I chose to combine the Double Trouble's 3-2-1 Recipe "For Someone Special" and Color Dare graphic. The Background ingredient is a pretty gray diamond pattern and stamped my butterfly and  floral image VersaMark and then heat embossed with silver embossing powder. The Color Dare graphic has two colors that must be used, purple and blue, colored using Distress Inks for a close match, and this covered the 2-Colors of Your Choice ingredient. Smudged some color on my patterned paper while coloring so chose a decorative border die to cut the bottom r-h corner, added a purple corner including the background border.  Added a die cut sentiment and some jems to meet the 3-Layers ingredient.

After photo was taken and posted the colors this was not a good match of the purple and blues... so a second card was done with a better match, but my smudge was in a different spot that I covered with a silver pen.

Please hop on over and join us at Color Dare's Color Board #650, check out the Design Teams inspiration, and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.
