Best Ever - Double Trouble Challenge #178 "SomeThing, AnyThing, EveryThing"

Here is my Design Team Card with Double Trouble "SomeThing, AnyThing, EveryThing" and using Twisted Sister's optional twist to include colors and/or fall elements. And Double Dare wants you to share your project with a previous partner. I chose Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #601 and shared my card with one of our previous partners.

My daughter and I enjoyed a mini weekend crafting get-a-way at her cabin. I pride myself in being on time; but Lisa got here before I finished packing my crafting stuff I needed for this challenge.  Had already pulled together some cardstock, design paperpacks, stamps, dies and tools and rapidly grabbed other stuff I might need because we were pressed by time to pick up pick up another friend, Mitra.

So... using lots of dies and cardstock I created my card for this DTC challenge... only to find when entering my card it didn't match the requirement. So decided to go with stamping and coloring... now who would take stamps and no ink pad... me.  Lisa was doing background techniques using gel roll, inks and foil and Mitra was doing scrapbook pages and neither needed ink pads... so stamping was out.

Mitra, previous to my finding out I had the wrong requirements for this challenge, she had splattered gold ink on a paper towel, then mopped up the mess with the same towel, folded several times, and when dried she gave to me along with her "Tattered Floral" die to cut.  She told me I would love it... and love it I did.

When I saw the stack of flowers stacked near me it hit me that these be perfect for the AHSC Sketch challenge and this time would actually meet the requirement of this challenge.  Luckily Mitra had lots of embellishments and I was able to find a acetate sentiment and a pretty butterfly, and she even had the perfect patterned paper and not missing the stamping.  AND, the nice thing is I already have my next project completed because of my mistake.

Please hop on over and join us at Double Trouble, have fun with our challenge  requirement and play along with optional twists to be eligible to enter your project in one of our previous partner's challenge while earning additional chances to our random draw. Check out the Design Teams inspirations, and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.

Happy Birthday

Here is a birthday card, I hadn't shared yet, but made for my son awhile ago to give to his girlfriend... of course with some input of what he wanted.  As going through Paper Playful there was a flamingo image at A Place to Start "Use Pink" and decided to share this card. My son likes CAS cards that don't have a lot of layering and/or sentiments that are difficult to read, but I didn't fully listen in regard to layerin the corner flowers. He had picked out the sticker of a Flamingo from CTMH Deck the Palms paperpack and a background masculin pattened paper...I thought the background was too masculine and suggested another plain paper, which he left that up to me.

So, I tried to keep it simple but feminine, raised a few florals and the Flamingo for some dimension.  Sentiment was clear... job done.  CAS, questionable; but I did do a lot of fussy cutting of the corner floral from one of the design papers and adhered with 3D thin foam tape.  He was pleased with the card.

Color Dare #624 Four Square - Happy Bird-day

This is my Design Team project for ColorMyHeart Color Dare #624 "Four Square" using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #600. My color choice was Bluebird, Rosy and Sundance.  As I was going through my stash I came across this cute chick stamp, excellent images for the circles from the sketch and the Sundance color of the chicks.

On white cardstock I stamped my three chicks using Mememto black ink and marked areas for placement of the circles (balloons) in comparison to the sketch. Using the chick stamp with balloon, stamped on patterned paper eight balloons, fussy-cut and adhered direct to white cardstock as previously marked.

Stamped the three chicks again on white cardstock, colored with Copic alcohol-base brushes, fussy-cut each chick without the legs and carefully adhered over the previously stamped images on the white cardstock lining up with the legs.

Using Heather Ink stamped a fencing image on the bottom of the same cardstock as the chicks. Another wood panel was cut for the rail and adhered on top of the stamped fence. A sentiment was stamped using another wood panel and bordered with Bluebird cardstock. The bow was replaced with another patterned balloon and drew in a bow and string, using Black Copic pen, from the balloon to the Sentiment.

On the inside of cardbase three more patterned balloons were used in a cluster at the bottom right-hand corner with hand-drawn strings.

Please hop on over and join us at Color Dare's Color Board #624 "Four Square" and select at least three of the colors from the Color Board. Check out the Design Teams inspiration, and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.

Merry Christmas - Color Dare #622 Triple Play

Here is my Design Team card for Color Dare #622 "Triple Play" wherein you must use all three colors, or closest match, and have combined it with Saturday Sketches #761.

Other than the piecing this was a fairly easy card to create. A Periwinkle patterned paper was selected for the background and bordered using Journey cardstock. Went through my die stash to find something that would represent the three circles in the sketch... used a floral die with two poinsettias cutting several in different cardstock colors and one from a patterned paper. Played around with the positioning and cuts until satisfied with arrangement and colors.

Before the first die cut was adhered to the background paper I cut a narrow piece of Journey cardstock and adhered to the back of the bar in the floral. This piece was then adhered to the background for piecing in the poinsettia leaves. The white layer of the die cut was then added over the first layer.  The third poinsettia was added from the same die cuts, positioned and adhered to the left.

Sentiment was stamped on white cardstock, bordered with Journey cardstock and adhered at bottom direct to background with a little floral and leave cut off from the same die.

I had lots of left-over die cuts and placed the one cut from the patterned paper on the inside corner of the card base.

BOO! - DTC #177 "Fall Bat Color Challenge" partnering with A Cut Above

Here is my Design Team card for Double Trouble Challenge #177 "Fall Bat Color Challenge" Thing 1's requirement is to choose three or more Fall Bat colors with neutrals free to use.

I knew exactly the image I was going to pull out of my stash as it fit the color requirement perfectly. It was an image I colored at Jenn Dove's Bootcamp in December of 2021.  Can't believe it took me this long before making a card using my  Kitty 'n Pumpkin colored image. Along with the coloring of the image we learned how to create the background scene (grass and trees) around this cute kitty using our alcohol markers.

Thing 3 Twisted Sister's optional twist was to use at least one die so we could enter our entry into our partner's challenge at A Cut Above "Anything Goes". I didn’t want to cover up my masterpiece so cut the scene using a torn edge rectangle die, backed with a wide black cardstock border and adhered to card base. A sentiment "Boo" was added using another die.

This was a fast card to get together; but my initial coloring and creating the scene was at least a half a day at Bootcamp and finishing up after class.  I am so pleased with my coloring, and would love to do another scenic background, even though it took me three years to display it... lol.

The Fall Bat colors chosen were also a great match to Color Dare's Challenge #621 "TicTacToe", Column 2:  Sundance (Yellow), Pumpkin (Orange), Evergreen (Green) plus Honey Butter (Yellow) and Capri (Blue).

On the inside of card base, bottom right-hand corner I added another tree die and cut using black cardstock as a means to pull in the forest inside.

Please hop on over and join us at Double Trouble... have fun with our challenge requirement and play along with optional twists to be eligible to enter your project in our partner's challenge while earning additional chances to our random draw.

Thing 1:  Use at least 3 Bat Colors
Thing 3:  Opt: Include at least One Die
Thing 2:  Opt: Enter at A Cut Above if
Thing 1 and Thing 3 Met

Check out the Design Teams inspirations, and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.

Hot Cocoa HERE - TSOT 656

Here is my Design Team card for Try a Sketch On Tuesday #656  and using the sketch for a Christmas Card at Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge #34 "Fantasy" with a coffee theme.  The sketch shouted out to me that it needed a lot of complementary patterned papers and a Winter Scene.

Left-side of card:  The gnomes were fussy-cut from one of the patterned papers and then adhered with 3D thin foam tape to a scene... sky from another patterned paper and white cardstock used for snowbanks and then bordered with Sapphire cardstock.

A sticker was used for the sentiment offering "hot cocoa here" on a Winter Day, with pot of chocolate in the gnomes hand for Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge requirement.

Right-side of card:  The plaid coordinating patterned paper was bordered with Sapphire cardstock and then positioning a snowflake zip strick alternating the patterns as in the sketch. The final two circles were added using a snowflake die cut using white cardstock.

On the inside of the card base I added a border of one of the papers used on the front of the card.
