Color Dare 616 Browns and White + 1 Color of Choice

Here is my Design Team card for Color Dare #616 "Must Use Brown & White + One Color" of Your Choice" and chose the Atlantic Heart Sketch #592.  Started with my background paper which were Toffee stripes on white and then bordered with Toffee cardstock to satisfy the Color Board "Must Use Brown & White".

While going through my stash found a lattice type border die and cut two pieces from brown and white cardstock and layered them for dimension. The sentiment was cut using blue cardstock (which was my choice of one color) adhered to a brown panel and then adhered to the top of the lattice. The sentiment was too large for an A2 card so cut a special card base to accommodate the diagonal sentiment in protrait style of 4 3/4" x 6 1/2" card base. The lattice and sentiment were placed at a diagonal, lattice adhered directly to the background and the top of the Sentment panel with 3D thin foam tape.

the Flowers were cut using brown for the shadow... using the same blue, dark and light side, cut two of the flowers and another cut in white.  Shadows were adhered direct to background with the blue and white flowers adhered with foam dots and some overlapping on the sentiment strip.

The foliage were stickers from the Toffee "Love Story" Paperpack which I additionally fussy-cut and added to the back of the florals with some 3D thin foam for dimension.  Two smaller flowers were added to the sentiment and light gold dots across the top of the sentiment.

On the inside of the card base made a corner border using pieces of the lattice in both colors and addded another blue flower in the corner.

DTC #174 - Fruity GORP "Have the Sweetest Birthday"

This is my Design Team card for Double Trouble's Challenge #174 "Scrapper's Fruity GORP Recipe". Our GORP is to use your favorite fruit(s) within a fruity color mix... which is already providing you with two of the elements from Festive Friday #167 Inspo List. Twisted Sister optional twist is to include at least one more element from the Inspo List to enhance your project and enter your card in Festive Friday #167 "Harvest" and be eligible for additional chances to Double Trouble's Random Drawing.

My third element was to include Gingham as my background using nectarine as one of the fruity colors. My gingham background was cut using my CTMH Multi Circle Windows die. Clear vinyl was placed between the gingham pattern paper and several white cardstock layers to accommodate shakers in some of the windows.

Supposedly choices were randomly placed... four of the Fruit stamps with a pun related to each, another four windows the gingham was replaced and the balance three circles were shakers.  Don't know how random this looks, but it took me a long time to get that random look.

Each of the fruits were colored with alcohol-base Copic Sketch brushes with a variety of fruity colors and the fun pun was attached to a nectarine circle off the edge for a little shadow.  Even got another element using my shakers as our Scrapper's Fruit GORP Recipe.  On the bottom right-hand corner a birthday sentiment was stamped with Memento black ink.

Shaker card was attached to the white cardbase.  On the inside some of the left-over circles were adhered to the right-hand border and stamped with some hearts.

You're the Sweetest - Double Trouble #173 "3-2-1 Recipe" partnering with Color Dare #614

Here is my Design Team card in celebration of National Banana Split Day on Sunday, Aug 25th... let's do a BUNCH of layers using Double Trouble's 3-2-1 Banana Split Recipe from our Kitchen to include at least three layers in addition to card base, two embellishments and one image.

Twisted Sister wants us to select at least three colors from the Color Dare #614 "Ice Cream Cone Inspiration Photo".   AND, If you have followed the colors on the Inspiration Photo you have earned another chance in Double Trouble's random drawing and qualify for entry into their challenge too.

The Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #590 is a perfect sketch for layers, so I just had to figure out a good image to use for the Double Trouble Recipe. My choice was a hummingbird stamp set which would provide a lot of layering and soft colors from the inspiration photo.

Looking through my Mink patterned papers chose a soft floral pattern and die cut a scalloped stitched circle for the doily and for the background another Mink patterned paper that complemented it. Doily adhered to background with thin foam tape and then bordered background with yellow cardstock.

Stamped two hummingbirds for layering, several flowers and leaves for the partial wrap around the doily and colored with Copic Sketch brushes using the lighter colors from the Color Dare's Inspiration Photo.

All floral and leaf images were fussy-cut, adhered to the background around the doily using thin foam tape to pop up some of the flowers.  The two hummingbird images were fussy cut slightly different, layered with 3D thin foam tape between them to create additional dimension and the hummingbird was adhered directly to the edge of the doily.

For completion of the 3-2-1 Recipe two bitty sparkles were added to the sentiment.  Other enhancements to the recipe were more than three layers, add of several images of floral and leaves and additional random placed bitty sparkles... I'm going to put this one in my recipe book.

On the inside of the card I stamped another floral stamp from the same stamp set using London Fog Memento Ink.

Color Dare #614 - Happy Birthday

This is my DT Card for Color Dare #614 "Inspiration Photo" partnering with Double Trouble's "3-2-1 Recipe" and using the Sketch Saturday Challenge #757. My background paper includes yellow, green, pink and blue and used the 3-2-1 Banana Split Recipe requirements and enhancements.

The Sketch Saturdays Challenge #757 was perfect for creating many layers.. the squares and panel borders gave me the required layers, as well as four floral die images, both were enhancements to the Recipe. My embellishments were Nuvo yellow drops on each square.

On the inside right hand border a patterned zip strip was added and a flower and leave dies using the same patterned papers.

Please hop on over and join us at Color Dare's Color Board #614 and check out the Design Teams inspiration, and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.

Happiness Comes in Waves - TSOT 652

Here is my DT card for Try a Sketch On Tuesday #652.  While looking through my stash chose a patterned paper with words on it and decided that was my  background, even though the sketch didn't call for a sentiment this was perfect for an any occasion note card.  Flipped the sketch to landscape because I wanted a full sentiment across the top of the card, bordered with a checkered design paper and adhered to the card base.

Zip strips from the paperpack were perfect for the three panels in the center... two outside strips were waves and the center seashells were adhered to background paper.

The focal point was white cardstock, bordered with the checkered pattern paper. The fish image was stamped, masked, stamped sea foliage in the background and colored with a variety of Copic Sketch pens. A second fish image was stamped, fussy-cut, colored, ahered with 3D thin foam tape on the original stamped focal point and then adhered with 3D thin foam tape on top of the zip strips.

On the inside a wave zip strip was added to the bottom border on the card base. Please hop over to Try A Sketch on Tuesday to see their Design Team members inspiration and let us see what you create... hope to see you there.

Thanks So Much - Color Dare 612 "TicTacToe"

Here is my Design Team card for Color Dare #612 "TicTacToe" choosing Row 1 colors of Pumpkin, Limeade, Sundance + Sapphire.  The stamp set originally from my stash the florals were too large.  Going back through my stash found another similar stamp set from June of 2023 which had not yet been used and it was perfect for the Sketch Saturday Challenge #756.

Cut two 1 3/4" x 3 1/4" panels using Limeade, and the shorter panel  1 3/4" x 2 1/2 using Sundance.  There was one stamp on the first floral, a small wire trellis, which I stamped with black ink to fill the panels with a slight border.  Adhered the panels direct the backgroundf patterned paper with Pumpkin color to complete colors in Column 1 of the TicTacToe.

The florals were then stamped using Sapphire ink on the two Limeade panels and a sentiment on the Sundance panel.  I thought it still needed something more to balance so I stamped another floral on each of the limeade panels, with the one flowing over to the Sundance panel.  That made me happy.

On the inside of the card, another one of the Botanical Shadows was stamped along the bottom border with a floral on the right-hand corne using Sapphire ink.

DTC #172 "What Makes You Happy?" Unwrap Holiday Cheers

This is my DT card for Double Trouble Challenge #172 "What Makes You Happy?" and Twisted Sister's optional twist to include a smile on your project. After picking a stamp that made me happy Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #588 was a perfect fit and being it was a Christmas stamp the Color Dare Challenge "Fancy Five" had some traditional colors (Scarlet and Pine) and other untraditional colors found their place in the packages and kitties.  And, for the month of August, "Cute Critters" are the theme for  Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge #32.

Going through my stash I found a pretty Pine and White floral patterned paper, layered it with Scarlet cardstock and adhered to the card base. Cut one patterned circle die using French Vanilla with decorative circle die using Scarlet, centered and then adhered to background.

Stamped in Memento Black ink the Newton's stamp image, fussy-cut and colored with Copic brushes using colors closest to Pine, Scarlet, Wisteria and Gold on the packages and the kitties were shades of grey with Peach color cheeks. Adhered image on the circle cuts.

Twisted Sister's optional twist was to include a smile element (emoji, smile face, sentiment, etc)... I did have an emoji I was going to use but when I looked at the flowers on the background in the center of each flower there were three dots that looked like eyes and nose and all I had to do is draw in a smile using scarlet ink... this definitely made me smile. The sentiment and the cup behind the smiles were perfect for my Christmas card for Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge.  On the inside bottom of card base I put a strip of the same floral pattern as on the front background paper

Hope my card makes you happy and brings a smile to your face.

Please hop on over and join us at Double Trouble and check out the inspiration from our Design Teams and then let us see what you create... hope to see you there.
