Here is my Design Team Card for ColorMyHeart Color Dare Challenge #431 "Inspiration Board".
Change to Original Submission: After looking at my card against the inspiration photo, I realized that I wanted a more glassy look like Chihuly's glass art... so I decided to clear emboss the background with clear glass. I did the inside edge to see if it would look more like glass, and then proceeded with the front. Of course this would have been a lot easier before mounting the wobble spring images. And then added glitter pen to the images... now am I happier with the result... well if I'm not happy with it... it's too late now.
If you have not seen a Chihuly glass art display this photo is his glass art. My first thought was to print the Inspiration Board and increase the size for a background for my card; however was concerned whether that would be breach of copywrite.
However, my neighbor had a stamp set which she hadn't used yet and she happened to have it in front of her during our Zoom. When I saw it, it didn't take me long to see the vision of my Chihuly-like background and didn't take me long to take possession of it... along with a variety of colors of her distress oxide inks that I didn't have.
You know how much I love layers... well, my colors were a bunch of layers of different colors and combinations of the spiffy spots, quite time-consuming but fun. Now it didn't look quite like Chihuly's glass art; but it was my scrap art and loved the result.
Background done, now what... as I was going through my more recent CTMH stamps I came across the puppy and kitten with their back to me... perfect. Stamped two each of the puppy and kitten; colored and texturized each in full and only the tail on the other. Used the technique for the furry look on both puppy and kitten, then used thin die to cut one set and fussy-cut the tails only on the other set. Tails were adhered to puppy and kitten with 3D thin foam tape a little bit off to make an attempt to make it look like they were wagging their tail in the excitement. And for more excitement I attached them to a wobble spring.
The sentiment on the bottom was initially inked onto the background; but it wasn't readable because it smudged when the card moved in my Misti. So, I just stamped some more spiffy spots in CTMH colors, stamped on the sentiment, layered with black cardstock and adhered with 3D thin foam tape. The upper sentiment was stamped directly onto the backgroud.
