Combined the Color Challenge to the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #156.

This week again my Cricut was very busy with these adorable butterfly die-cuts (modified) from CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge, cut from Paper Fundamentals (shiny side) using all the colors in the challenge for the top layer, and then using White Daisy, a little larger image, to outline against the patterned paper.  Did several layout combinations of color against white or different background patterns, and finally decided on the following.  The red was so bold against the other colors, I decided to use the same bold at the bottom of the card and selected a ruby ribbed ribbon.

On the inside of the card I used the butterfly color, which was left over, at the bottom right-hand corner, leaving adequate space for a note and/or sentiment.

Kool-Aid Gift Bag Tag

My daughter-in-law asked if I could do a tag for my grand-daughters gift bag, for a packet of Kool-Aid, and to be given at the school closing for summer break.  This task directed me to Cricut Design Space to find a decorative die-cut. Two different sizes were created, one for the border, and the smaller smaller size for the sentiment. Sentiment was created with Text, attached text to the smaller image, and Cricut printed first and then cut each image.  Used the blue border because it's a cool color, attached the Sentiment, and hole punched.

You Mean So Much to Me

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #155 combined with one of the April challenges  at Heart2Heart Challenges "Theme Four"
Please click on any of the highlighted challenges to see the many inspirations and creative designs from each of the Design Team members and the many submissions to these challenges.

My first thought was go to Cricut Design Space to pick out a frame for the cut corners and this was the frame I selected from CTMH - Art Philosophy. The frame was modified, welded and cut from design paper and a second frame cut with cardstock, a little larger, for the layering.  A second frame was cut imitating the larger frame changing to a square frame, and cut again in white and a little larger one in thistle for layering.

Banner across card was cut from design paper, white and thistle cardstock, adhered each piece, then adhered to large frame and cut on the end to match the cut of the panel.  Small square panel was adhered to card with 3D thin foam tape.  One butterfly glued to panel and tip of wings rolled, while the second butterfly cut was adhered to center and pearls added for body.  Sentiment stamped, fussy-cut,glued to cardstock and again fussy-cut to take same shape as sentiment.  Pearls added to each of the four corners on the larger and smaller frames.

Theme for Heart to Heart Challenge - Four:  My card had 4 corner die-cuts and 4 pearls on both the smaller and larger frames.

Hello Spring "Stair Step Card"

Block card AKA Stair Step Card  by Deb Valder, You Tube, excellent tutorial on the scoring and assembling of the Stair Step Card...that was the easy part...now the decision of what papers and theme to use.  The Color Challenge of course made it quite easy for a floral arrangement...so Cricut Design Space was kept pretty busy with cutting butterflies, flowers, and foliage in each of the challenge colors and having just received my CTMH Order my Sentiment "Spring," and in Thistle, was right in front of my eyes...easy decision.  The Floral arrangement at the top of the card was colored with ShinHan alcohol-based pens, and the little Chick and hello were also from the Penelope Complements.

The height and width of the card was 4 1/2", but able to add embellishments 2 1/2" at the top of the card to fit in a 5 x 7 envelope. The photo above is how I chose to collapse the card with the sentiment at the bottom for mailing. The photo below is another way of collapsing the card.

Join us in this Challenge...and don't forget to Add a Sentiment.

The card was designed using the April Heart2Heart Sketch Challenge, and making a tri-fold card from Tutorial on You Tube "How to make a Tri-Fold Shutter Card Base" by The Mad Stamper.  As I was looking through my papers I decided on "Scaredy Cat" and what's more appropriate than a Halloween theme...a little early; but you know how time flies. The tutorial was excellent instructions for the simple cut of this card, and then all else is left to your imagination and creativity on decorating with embellishments.

The tri-fold made it possible to create the front of the card according to the sketch.  Selected one of the colors "thistle" from the design paper to use as my first panel on each section.

Front of Card:  Chose my design paper using a paper similar to the design in the sketch challenge.  Then my concentration went to the focal point which took me to Cricut Design Space where I found a frame similar to the sketch which included a cobweb (Halloween cards need cobwebs...one cut for the front of the card, and extra set for the inside. One of the images in "Little Monsters" Stamp Set had a spider on her hat...wow a great picture for this frame and so cute, stamped, colored, cut to frame and placed behind the frames with 3D Foam Tape.

One of the design papers had rows of fencing, cut three strips of the thinner fencing, and adhered with 3D Foam tape.  Sentiment was easy selection "Spooky Cute" and stamped on vellum so I didn't lose the design of the background, heat embossed with a purple embossment powder, and adhered to card.  Completion of sketch was the three embellishments (bows) at the upper left-hand corner.

Inside of Card:  Well I was done with the sketch challenge, now for all the design papers and embellishments on the inside of the card.  Placement of design papers on other panels, Cricut Design Space die-cuts and already made die-cuts, puffies, some Wink of Stella, another stamped little monster which was colored and adhered with 3D Thin foam tape inside frame.  Done...below are close-ups of the detail of the inside of the card.

I Love Golf Gift Card

This is a future Father's Day or Birthday Card, to include a Gift Certificate for a couple rounds of Golf, using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #154. Not having any golfing stamps or paper I immediately went to Cricut Design Space to see what was available, and there was my tag to use as a pocket for a Gift Certificate.

Selected the design paper for the bottom of the card from "Chauk It Up" because it looked like many golf balls on the ground, and then the top was design paper from "Regatta" which appeared like a sky with birds flying.  The scalloped border was a border die-cut of balls/tees and inked the dots on the golf balls for dimension, along with other die-cuts for the border, bow and sentiment.

The bow was made up of a golf ball and a couple tees and attached to the tag and added liquid glass on the ball.  The tag was adhered on card with 3D Thin Foam Tape to make the pocket for the gift card.

Birthday Wishes

Welcome to Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge #188Join us in this week’s challenge combining the colors, all and only, White Daisy, Sapphire, Pomegrante, Glacier and Flaxen until Thursday, April 14, 2016 to create and link up your project...look forward to seeing your inspirations for this color challenge. These colors are all in Regatta PaperPak. We encourage you to use CTMH products; however you may use any products to participate using close-to colors...and still join in the fun.

Since all the colors were in the Regatta PaperPak I decided to use this paperpak; however the background is made up of all the different the Zip Strips from the Design Papers.  The strips were put on a diagonal and edges cut when they were all placed on the cardstock.

I tried to match this up to AHSC sketch this week; but just couldn't get the right combination of how I would finish the card, so I stamped the Lighthouse with Sapphire ink, masked to get another fence in the foreground, backed with red cardstock, and adhered to card with 3D Thin Foam Tape.  Stamped the Sentiment and also adhered with 3D Thin Foam Tape.

Easter Baskets

Pressed for time, soon everyone would be over for dinner, so I needed to have something fast for the Easter Baskets.  I had just downloaded an adorable freebie from Craftin Desert Diva's "Bunny in a Carrot" and since it looked like a clip I printed and colored one for each gift card, and adhered with 3D Foam Tape to the top of the card.  Done in record time.

Our family is small, and since my kids and most of the Grandchildren are all grown up now, my Easter Baskets are usually a Restaurant Gift Card, and we usually use it as another family gathering at a later time. This Easter it was Dinner at Red Robin.  Three of our members are out of town, two were sent money gifts, and the third sent a Tim Horton's Gift Card.

Bee Happy

This card was created using Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #153 and the theme from Heart2Heart Challenges "The Birds and The Bees" March, 2016.

One of my favorite CTMH Stamp Sets "Honeycomb Flair". To create the pattern down the left-hand side of the sketch I masked 1/8" strips on a piece of White Daisy cardstock, used each of the design honeycombs and stamped entire card using honey ink.  Bordered the card with black and honey cardstock.  Sentiment was cut from Cricut Design Space using Add Text, modified, grouped and welded.  The bees are from Bugaboo uploaded to Word , printed, colored and die-cut sentiment adhered and framed with black cardstock.  Distressed edges in honey and black inks.

On the inside of the card a die-cut from Cricut Design Space which I chose to use on the inside of the card because it was too much honey color on the front of the card.

Sending You a Prickly Hug

Welcome to this week's Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge #187Join us in this week’s challenge combining the colors White Daisy and any or 1, 2, 3, 4 or ALL Five of the following greens (Cotton Candy, Sweet Leaf, Topiary, Glacier and White Daisy.) You have until Thursday, April 7, 2016 to create and link up your project...look forward to seeing your inspirations for this color challenge.

It wasn't too difficult for me to choose my theme for colors of Green...in Arizona the cacti are an assortment of greens.  However, in the spring/summer and sometimes fall seasons these green cacti break out with beautiful colored flowers.

All cacti stamped, fussy-cut, rolled edges, and adhered with 3D Foam Tape inside of die-cut window frame from a variety of cardstock. Design Paper placed in the background of the window.  The cactus outside the window and sentiment stamped on white cardstock, fussy-cut and adhered with 3D Foam Tape.

Photos taken today:  The flower outside the window was stamped and masked for other stems of the same plant.  In this first photo (double-click for a larger photo), circled are the many green buds that will bloom. Not simultaneously but throughout the season.  The second photo is the yellow flower this cactus produces (not fully open).  The needles on this plant are the white buds in the background which appear to be soft; however, if rubbed against they have hundreds of needles in each bud that will pierce you and they are not easily removed.
